Thought it outrageous that for fully three quarters of our stay the roof bar AND the bar at Neo's was off limits to paying guests. The roof was the principal amenity that attracted us to the Drayton and I had planned for months in advance to propose to my girlfriend there. But we were shut out - not once but twice! When one pays as large a sum to stay as one does at The Drayton one expects to have access to the restaurants and bars advertised. At a minimum there should be a discount offered for the inconvenience and disappointment - to say nothing of the false advertising. The attitude of the staff was basically "ho-hum, not my problem." This extended to the issue of early check in. We got in early, I called a week in advance saying we would be early and would like the room. Again, no dice. This was also the case with the car tour. I needed it for Saturday afternoon. Again, nothing doing, it had to be Friday-which good thing it was...because the room wasn't ready! …
We stayed two nights on the way to Florida over the weekend. We arrived and everyone, and I mean everyone, from the Valet to the Registration to the Restaurant Staff were attentive, nice, helpful and simply made us seem at home. The rooms, while a little small, were well appointed and the bed comfortable. Would not hesitate to return if in Town.
Nice, elevated and well appointed hotel with lovely plush rooms, dining services and friendly, kind staff at every turn. Beautiful lobby and complimentary coffee went well together. Will be back and will recommend to friends! Thank you, Drayton staff.
Having stayed at the Drayton several times in the past I was expecting the same level of attention to service and detail. Unfortunately my room was not well screened from exterior hotel lighting living the room very bright and no way to screen out the exterior light. The hotel was experiencing plumbing issues with water bubbling up for the toilet bowls in multiple rooms. I was moved to another room where the smoke detector flashed green all night like a strobe. The restaurant staff is in serious need of guest service training. Very disappointing compared to past stays.
They need a gym and few self serve items for this high level hotel to be worth it: needs a comp water station/ needs at least a few breakfast items (you have to order & wait long time) need coffee station.
The hotel had good customer service with excellent staff and is ideally located. Considering it’s relatively high cost the comfort levels and facilities let it down. We didn’t get a housekeeping service and we weren’t told this wasn’t provided. There are no drinks making facilities in the room. There is no information provided about the hotel facilities. We were also expected to pay an additional charge at check in which was for facilities such as the TV system which you would expect to be in the price.
This is a higher-end hotel in a wonderful location. The price was totally correct and worth the upgrade from the nearby mid-level chains. The staff try really hard and definitely succeed, our room was terrific, lobby was fun, rooftop is panoramic and breakfast was great. Only bummer: no gym but, did you come to Savannah for your health?
The Drayton provides a modern experience in a historic location. The room is well-appointed and the staff incredibly attentive. The rooftop bar provides an escape from the hustle and bustle below. The complimentary breakfast is just an added bonus to an already lovely experience. The lobby also provides a place to socialize and relax.
We stayed in a City Hall King room, which was very nice (although it didn't really have a view of the City Hall!). The bed was super-comfortable and very large. The room was well appointed and had a nice feel to it. The hotel position was excellent and we walked everywhere around downtown Savannah. Breakfasts (included in our rate) were pleasant but not outstanding. Turn down service was patchy (one night out of three). Some issues with the bill at the end. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. If you want to have a drink at the rooftop bar, you have to get there before 8 pm or you will miss out (we got there at 8.02 pm and didn't manage to get a drink). Overall, a very nice, clean and well presented hotel, with friendly staff and in a great position. Just a few small issues that took the edge off our stay and stopped the rating being 5 stars.…
Great location, charming rooms with quality restaurant and rooftop longe. Walking distance within all of historic Savannah. Staff is informative while supplying top notch service. Highly recommend. Make sure you take the Trolley to really know the city.
