The Alida, Savannah, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel, is frequently celebrated for its prime location and chic atmosphere, drawing travelers eager to explore Savannah's rivers and squares. Guests have called out the well-appointed rooms and amenities like rooftop bars and pools, though some raise concerns about cleanliness and amenity fees. While the staff is generally praised for their friendliness and professionalism, experiences with service efficiency are mixed.
Room satisfaction also varies, with some reports of maintenance and size issues. Despite this, the vibrant common areas and cleanliness throughout the hotel are often highlighted, even as guests grapple with the value for money due to unexpected fees.

Detailed Reviews
During my "staycation" I stayed in 3 different hotels locally, two were Marriott properties. The Alida I must say I felt went above and beyond in COVID attention to detail and I felt very safe staying at this property. I'm not sure if this was C19 related but some of my take-aways are as follows: There is no coffee in the individual rooms, at 7am you can go downstairs to Rhett for complementary coffee which is poured for you. Don't let the cool, sleekness fool you, there is a refrigerator drawer under the window seat in your room, small but enough to keep your vino cold. LOTs of hand sanitizing stations throughout this property. Ice (at this time) must be obtained from the front desk and is handed out in quart size zip lock baggies. Super friendly staff. The Communication Board in the lobby keeps you informed of what is going on around the property during the day. For guests there was free wine/champagne daily from 3pm - 5pm. Small sampling pours, but still...it's complementary so ... Being a fitness junkie I loved their fitness area. Larger than most and had a Peloton bike which I've been dying to give a try! I hooked it up with the app I currently have and all worked great (you don't have to have an actual Peloton bike to use the app, so it was nice to see how my Schwinn IC compared) There is a pool onsite and cabanas which I believe are for rent. The rooftop bar was very nice and food was available with a limited bar like menu. This property is pet friendly as well. My only "ding" was with the hotel design in the bathroom (at least the one I was assigned to) the makeup area IMO was not designed/well lit enough. Don't get me wrong, the shower and bathroom was super cool, but when putting on makeup, I just didn't feel it quite was what it should be and that is my ONLY complaint. This hotel is in a formerly seedy side of town and it is now a beautiful addition to this end of the River Street area. Very nice boutique hotel.

We spent a few nights here to get away from Atlanta and enjoy a bit of time walking the streets of Savannah just to escape the confines of our apartment and the 3 months of social distancing. My 7 yr old son loves the history of Savannah and his highlight is always a ghost tour. The hotel wasn’t that busy. It’s in a great location, just a short walk to the River Street where you can shop and check out the massive container ships arriving into the port of Savannah. We had a bit of a glimpse of the river from our room, which was nice. The rooms are lovely, modern and fresh. Love the wooden floors, no smelly carpets here! Of course with the virus restrictions, things are a little different now. No housekeeping, but they do deliver a little bag of toiletries to your door each day, so we never had to ask for anything. When we requested extra bedding, it was delivered straight away. Limited food options at the restaurants and valet was self park for the first part of the stay at a reduced rate, but then they started up normal operations on the weekend.
The rooftop bar and restaurant is awesome with lovely views of the river and downtown area. We didn’t eat much at the hotel, but my son really enjoyed the burger, which they barbecue on a grill at the rooftop. On the one day it was pouring down, so the rooftop was closed, but they opened the lobby bar for people to wait out the rain. I felt that even with all these restrictions and new guidelines in place for the virus, the staff really did go above and beyond to help guests and accommodate us wherever possible. Nothing was too much trouble. So well done to them all for making our stay so pleasant. The pool was great and perfect for cooling off after a day out in the humidity. All in all this is an awesome hotel and I would stay here again for sure.
It’s also a very short walk to the market street area. Try Vinnies pizza, it’s great, but be prepared to queue. Also highly recommend Collins Quarter.

We spent 3 nights in Savannah at the Alida and were able to walk everywhere we needed from this location. We had a 2-King (yes, 2 King beds in the room) on the 1st floor facing the pool and were very happy with the location and cleanliness of the room. Although our room wasn't quite ready for early check in we received a personal phone call within about 30 minutes that our room was ready. We enjoyed our stay and will be back! We ate breakfast at Rhett on our last morning and were very happy with the meal and service there as well.

Room 322: no glasses but an ice bucket. No closet but small boat cleats in the bathroom to not only hang your towels but the only place to hang your clothes. No ironing board or iron. No room coffee maker nor cups. There is linoleum floors in the bedroom but the carpets in the hallways are very soiled and dirty. Pool view is of the very less expensive Best Western with their clients staring back at you from their walkways. Pool can be seen by looking straight down from window. $45 daily parking. Drive two streets south to the Whitaker public parking garage (white sign with a green P) and park for $16 a night. We used valet the first night due to time constraints, the valet team did not greet us, did not open our doors, did not help with our luggage and we were the only people there. In addition to the $300+ a night for a Wednesday and Thursday night, we were also charged an additional $25 resort fee. Which included one free cookie in the afternoon, one free glass of wine from 3-5, and use of one of their six bikes, first come first serve. I’ve stayed in Savannah five times before, this hotel was chosen by my friend we were meeting and I would not stay here again.

Thank you for sharing your experience, and I apologize that we did not meet your expectations. Every room at The Alida does have closets, which are located behind the shades on both the left and right side of the windows. In that same location, we have steamers for our guests. Ironing boards can be delivered upon request. We have complimentary coffee for all of our guests available each morning in Rhett. We will certainly be happy to share all of this feedback with our team. I would love an opportunity to speak with you further about your experience, please feel free to contact me directly at The Alida. All the best, Michael

Not only do they not clean the room, make the bed, change out towels or anything else, they charged us over $100 a night more than they quoted. When I called them about it....they said their rates change constantly and that they would not honor the lower rate. Disappointed that a hotel with their reputation would not honor what they quoted.

I would love to give this hotel a nice review as the facility and ambiance could be amazing. Unfortunately, there are just too many service gaps for the price you pay and I would look elsewhere before booking here. The staffing was not up to par as it took very long to get drinks (1 poor bartender in the entire rooftop bar) or any other type of service (3 calls to get clean towels). The restaurant downstairs was a mess and they couldn’t bus tables to get people in the seating. You text the valet and it turns out they don’t get your car until you come and talk to them wondering where your car is. When the car pulls up they watch you with their hand out while you load the vehicle. Really poor communication on what services they will provide in this environment and what they will not from a room perspective. Tough to get coffee - you have to go downstairs to the restaurant and wait for a server to see you standing there. You pay $25 a day for ‘services’ and get nothing - free WiFi when you provide your email... On the positive side the bedding is really comfortable, the room is large (not well utilized from the space perspective) and the hot water is amazing. We were hoping this hotel would be great and were disappointed.

We are so sorry to hear of your disappointing experience while joining us at the Alida. We can understand that we did not meet your expectations, and I will follow up on your feedback with our team. I agree that our valet team could have done better as well. We do have an amenity fee at The Alida which offers local coffee from Perc coffee roasters, daily red, white and sparkling wine in our lobby, homemade cookies, sparkling and still filtered water at our Nooks, and complimentary bicycles and wi-fi access. We will follow up on all of your concerns in order to insure the highest level of guest service at The Alida. We do hope that you will decide to visit us again in the future. Sincerely, Michael

When we walked into The Alida, we were immediately wowed by the decor and the friendly staff. We were greeted with a cocktail when we checked in, which is my favorite way to be greeted! We stayed in a room with a river view and could not only see the cargo ships coming in, but the beautiful Savannah City Hall as well. The bed was super comfortable and the TV had a Google Chromecast, so we were able to stream our favorite shows instead of searching through the TV guide. I love that they have water stations on each floor, because hotel tap water can often leave something to be desired.
We dined at Rhett restaurant our first night and it was a fantastic meal. I recommend starting your meal with the cheddar drop biscuits, they were to die for! The shrimp and grits were also very flavorful, and I've had a lot of shrimp and grits before. After dinner, we headed up to the Lost Square for cocktails and the views were even better than the view from our room. We enjoyed live music and it was a great way to start the evening before exploring the city.
The location of this hotel also sets it apart since it is right next to the Plant Riverside district, which had live music and plenty of stalls to grab drinks and food throughout the day. It took only a few minutes to be walking by the water and then in a few minutes more, you could be at the City Market.
On our last day, we hung out by the pool, which wasn't overly crowded and very relaxing. The frose was very tasty and they have a nice selection of food items to order from as well. The staff was very attentive and was checking on us throughout the day, which was very nice. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here!

We stayed at the Alida from Sun-Wed and enjoyed the friendliness of the staff and the layout of the property. On Tuesday, we needed a later checkout and Yessica went above and beyond to ensure that we were taken care of, in addition, we had an issue with our room and she again took care of the room issue and moved us to a higher floor away from the construction that occured in the area. I would recommend staying at this property, the smell in the lobby and throughout the building are AMAZING. The gym has a Peloton and a great workout system (including punching bag and ropes). All in all if this was not during COVID this hotel would be packed and full of fun activities. Here are a few things that could be improved:
(1) Parking is extremely high ($42 per night); save the money and park on the street. Street parking is $24 per day or go to the city website and purchase a parking pass ($12 per day).
(2) There is loud construction in the area, the construction disturbed my wife's sleep (ear plugs would be a huge plus!!)
(3) In our two rooms there was a noticeable difference between the bed quality. The first bed was extremely soft and plush, the later bed was very firm and seemed to be missing the plush bedding underneath the first layer of sheets.
Overall GREAT staff, great atmosphere, and we would stay again!!

The hotel is just off of the historic waterfront. The room was good but not great. View mediocre with construction nearby. The staff was helpful. Despite getting the senior discount, added taxes and fees boosted the cost almost $100 for an overnight stay. Particularly upsetting were the parking fee of $42 and an obligatory amenities fee of $30 for things we would have chosen to skip if given the choice. I wonder how you charge a guest for amenities??? Although you did not have to use the valet parking, there was no other parking in the immediate vicinity so it was almost obligatory as well.
They provided water bottles in the room and you had to fill them from a water station down the hall. They did not even provide coffee in the room.
The roof top bar was very nice with good views of the city and limited views of the nearby waterfront. The bartender was friendly.
Given the initial cost of the room and the added costs, I would not recommend this hotel.

This was my second stay at the Alida and once again I was impressed. DeAndre made sure that from the front door my experience was pleasant. While I will concede that parking is a bit challenging and pricey at and around the hotel, Mitchell recommended a parking deck that was close by and inexpensive. Haley, Quincy and Sydney were very professional and delivered the kind of customer service you want at your Front Desk. Check-in was smooth and easy. Our room was clean, bright and smelled wonderful as did the entire hotel which is absolutely beautiful with all the elegant art deco touches. Our housekeeper Brittany and the Director of Housekeeping Gi-Gi were solicitous and accommodating. We didn't have any issues whatsoever, however I have no doubt that if we had it would have been handled seamlessly. Arthur, The General Manager of The Rhett, was gracious in recommending some vegan/vegetarian places as my Daughters and I have recently adopted a new eating lifestye, however we would have been remiss to not also visit the Rhett and visit we did! Maria, our breakfast server, was super sweet and the French Toast is amazing. We did go to one of Arthur's recommended places for lunch but returned for dinner where we were lucky enough to meet Liz, the Assistant Manager and Akash, our server. We had come to expect great customer service and the evening staff did not fail to continue that trend. Overall, I believe this experience was just one example of why Savannah is such a charming city and thanks to the outstanding staff, my family and I will return to the Alida to be charmed once again.

Are there grassy areas around the property?
I suggest reaching out through Marriott. Good luck.
Most of the hotels in Savannah are very nice, this hotel is not rated two stars If you mean scale. Just remember if you stay here you have to pay $42 a night for parking plus a $25 resort fee which provides nothing. I would recommend the Brice hotel
The amenity fee is basically for the use of the pool and the hydration stations. They give you plastic water bottles to refill on each floor with cold sparkling, flat and room temp flat water. It is very useful. Soft drink purchases I am unaware of. All of the properties have amenity fees in the area. The JW Marriott next door is still partly under construction but the noise is minimal.
