At Olde Harbour Inn, numerous guests commend the friendly staff and the hotel's quaint historic charm, yet some have encountered inconsistent service and housekeeping. While the spacious suites and evening socials with wine are popular, noise at night is a recurrent concern, despite the provision of white noise machines. Cleanliness receives mixed reviews. The hotel's prime location and pet-friendly policy are widely appreciated, though opinions on value and room quality diverge, with some travelers viewing the hotel as overpriced.

Olde Harbour Inn is a great place to stay. This hotel is located right on the Savannah River & within walking distance to many historical sites and restaurants. The hotel has a great Happy Hour every afternoon & there are always yummy ice cream treats in your freezer. The staff was very polite & accommodating. Southern hospitality at its best.

The suite was perfect for my husband and me. Loved our stay.

The customer service is stellar from beginning to end. They exceed in trying to please! Our stay was noise free although they provide ear plugs in case it isn't. I can see that due to the location right on the boardwalk/riverwalk that it could get noisey and at times I could here folks above walking across the floor but not at all bad.
The space is massive with a separate living room, kitchen, bathroom, and king bedroom. It is an all stairs and climb to the hotel down to the rooms or up to the rooms (no elevator). This to keep in mind as you bring luggage and belongings. They provided luggage delivery to the rooms so this was not an issue. There is a full refrigerator and microwave with a coffee maker in the kitchen. The decor is up to date.
The entire experience provided unique joys such as complimentary icecream in the freezer, water bottles, wine and snacks in the lobby in the evening, and muffins in the morning, and drinks all day (water, juice, coffee, etc)
Everything was super clean, the location provided for easy walking to every 'to-do' place to eat and see. Once you park that's it. The daily parking fee here was about 20 or 25 dollars compared to many hotels and other lots charging 45 ++ dollars for daily parking.

This inn never disappoints. Ideally situated right next to River Street providing easy access to all the shops and restaurants just steps away. Super courteous staff is always so helpful. Our balcony had 2 small chairs to sit and watch container ships passing by and hear music playing nearby below. Warm breezes blew right inside our clean, spacious room. Parking is alongside the inn which allows you easy access to your vehicle for coming and going. Evening reception in the lobby with wine & small bites. The loft has a Queen bed also which is a plus for inviting additional guests. And as always, Klondike Bars in our freezer at night as a welcome treat before bed. All of this for a great price. OHI is such a value and always my first choice for a stay in Downtown Savannah.

I wish I could give this a better review. We had high hopes as we like historic hotels. PROS: Historic structure with authentic brick walls, large suites with a full kitchen, modern bath, eclectic, historic, practical furniture, nice art, decor & color schemes . Every night there is a nice wine & hors d'oeuvres reception and coffee & juice service in lobby all day, free cold soft drinks and water in the lobby. Most of the staff were friendly and accommodating. For all this you pay a $40/nt. resort fee in addition to the room charge. CONS: Basic items were missing from our room and we had to go to the front desk to fetch them including: bathmat, replacement glasses, coffee mug & kuerig coffee pods, shower cap, adequate towels, a pen and notepad. While the suites feature a full kitchen, absolutely NO cooking or reheating supplies were found, all cupboards were empty. What is the point then one might ask thought we were grateful for the microwave to reheat leftovers. There is no real lobby, just a small sitting room opposite the check-in desk featuring a musty smell, while the large cocktail reception room with the coffee service and a view of the river was occupied daily by the hotel staff talking on the phone, eating or just hanging out, so we didn't feel welcome there. Also beware of all of the outdoor wrought iron stairs to and from the hotel, to every room & the lobby if mobility is an issue. Noise was not an issue for us as we were there midweek, but on the bottom floor we could hear our upstairs neighbors walking on the creaky old wooden floors quite clearly.

Hi KH_RWC, We appreciate your honest feedback and apologize for the disappointing experience you had with us at Olde Harbour Inn. And we especially appreciate you reviewing the aspects of the hotel that you did enjoy, such as the wine and horse d'oeuvres reception, the staff, and the historic nature of the building. You are correct that the "basic items" you expected, such as a bathmat, glasses, coffee mugs, coffee pods, etc should have been in the room, and I am very sorry that you didn't have them. Having to go to the front desk to get these items isn't acceptable. Our staff should have, at the very least, have brought them to your room for you, but of course, they should have been there in the first place! Please know that we've talked with the housekeeping staff about double-checking this, and we'll be keeping a closer eye on the supplies in the future. I'm sorry you were also disappointed in the lack of kitchen supplies. This is something we will review with management, and your feedback will definitely be noted. As you know, the building was constructed in the 1800s, and we agree it's not the perfect and typical hotel layout. We sincerely wish we had an elevator, but we do our best to make sure that when booking, guests are informed that there are quite a few steps and stairs to navigate. We'll be double-checking that information to make sure we're clear on that, as it's not a hotel for guests with mobility limitations! Again, thank you for bringing your concerns to our attention. We wish you safe travels in the future, and hope you do give us a try again in the future. We'd love to have you, and we'd love the chance to do a better job! Warm regards, Cindy

Not impressed. Rooms were ok, the furniture looks old and tired. The cleaning staff was terrible , no towels replaced , did not change the sheets during a 4 night stay, nor wipe down sinks or nightstand ect.. Earplugs are provide on the night you arrive because the hotel location is very loud and the building is old , so you hear every footsteps and your neighbours voices , TV ect.. I found my pair under my sheets that they didn’t change. Many other beautiful historic places to stay , I would not choose this one.

We're so sorry to see that you had an unimpressive stay with us. We pride ourselves on providing a great experience for our guest, so we're definitely disappointed to read this review. We are concerned that we didn't get an opportunity to address these issues while you were staying with us. We would've attempted to correct any issues the best of our ability if we were aware. Our housekeeping staff is made aware of which guest are due for a sheet change, especially for guest staying more than 2 nights. Your sheets should've been changed at least 1 day during your stay. Unfortunately, we've never advertised that our property is quiet one. We're in the heart of the historic district, our property was built in 1892, and the Savannah River is one of the busiest ports on the East Coast. Before this review, you communicated with us explaining your concern with your bill and the amenity fee. When you booked over the phone we explained that your total included all taxes and fees. The total that we stated and sent on your confirmation never changed form what you actually paid. This was our first communication with you, indicating that you were displeased with something. We truly wish this experience could have been better during your visit. Best regards, Martin Terrell Guest Relations Manager Olde Harbour Inn

The hotel location is great, the suites are big & spacious, beds comfortable, and room has good views of the river. However, service is just not up to par. We booked 3 rooms for 3 night stay through Hotels.com. The room setup is unique – through direct entryways to 3 room sets. We were given 2 of the 3 rooms in 1 entryway & 3rd was separate even though it was all on same reservation. When we requested a move, the check in person told us rooms would be together if we had booked directly but since it was through hotels.com, we wont do anything to ensure they are together & can’t move things around now! Why offer reservation through 3rd party if treatment is different? Same thing for late checkout-we requested an extra hour for just 1 room-was told not possible since it was a 3rd party reservation. No one offered to help with luggage. Room cleaning: don’t expect room to be vacuumed, beds to be made, or if you leave empty paper cups/glasses anywhere to be thrown. Only cleaning is a cursory cleaning of the bathroom, towel replacement, and emptying of the trashcans. We deliberately dropped something on the ground on day 2 in the morning-was still there in the evening. There’s a coffee machine in the room, but regular pods were not replenished since they were “out”.

Customer service is top notch at Olde Harbour Inn. Every employee I encountered was genuinely friendly, helpful, and went out of their way to ensure a good stay. There are nice little touches (included in the amenities fee) that make it a special place: a cooler with unlimited bottles of water and soda throughout the day, muffins and juice in the mornings, wine and snacks in the evenings, and ice cream in your fridge. The location is perfect for walking to restaurants and sites downtown, and it's just steps from River Street. The property itself is lovely - my suite was much larger than I expected with high ceilings and exposed beams, and everything was nice and clean.

There are tradeoffs for staying in an historic property directly on the river. At night, you might be startled awake by the blaring of a horn as a barge passes by your window. Or, when your neighbors are home, you might hear their footsteps creaking overhead. If it's raining, you might be nervous walking down the metal stairs from Rossiter Pl to the main level of the inn. If these things would bother you, Olde Harbour Inn might not be the place for you, but it all added to the charm for me, and I give it 5 stars.

Three days here in our trip up the South East Coast of USA. Lovely room, attentive and friendly service from the staff. Situated on the river ( can be a bit noisy in the evening but bedrooms on the back so no disturbance). Parked the car (free) and it didn’t move while we were there as the town centre is easily reachable on foot. A great little find. Recommended.

The room we had was very spacious (king bed with a queen bed in a loft) and had a balcony overlooking the river. It was very nice to step outside and watch the activity below and in the river. There happened to be a cruise ship docked right in front of the hotel for the first two days of our stay which was a bit unfortunate but not really a knock on the hotel. The room was clean and the towels were changed daily.

There is noise at night, no doubt. Between river traffic (cargo ships sounding their horns up until about 11pm and then starting again in the morning) and some minor amount of crowd noise from River St (though most activity seemed to dry up around 9pm) along with noise from the adjacent rooms. They provide earplugs but if you're a really fussy sleeper, you might want to consider another location.

The location was great and convenient to just about anything in the historic area you might want to walk to. Plenty of dining options and plenty of parks to go to and people watch at.

There is no pool and no real dining on-site so you'll need to figure out breakfast on your own.

We loved our room! We were looking for a suite or rental in the historic district that would accommodate three women for a girls' trip, so we needed three beds or at least a king and a queen. We're so happy we found Olde Harbour Inn! Although they don't have an elevator, the bellhop and hotel staff made check-in a breeze! The took our luggage to our room and told us where to park. Upon checkout, all we had to do was park in Emmett Park along the sidewalk and walk on the elevated crosswalk from our room to our vehicle. The room was SO incredibly cool and comfortable, and we certainly appreciated that in the 90 degree weather in the south in July! We especially loved our room because it was on the end of the hotel which is at the end of River Street, so we didn't hear much rowdiness (if any) from the River Street party-goers. Out of the "living room" windows, our view was the beautiful Emmett Park, and out of the bedroom window was the river. You can't get any better than that! The staff was amazing! They seemed genuinely happy to see us and do whatever to make our stay wonderful and relaxing. The Klondike bars in the freezer and the muffins, soft drinks, and coffee in the lobby were extra special touches! Overall, the room was beautiful; the staff was exceptional; the A/C was incredible, and the Olde Harbour Inn definitely has charm to boot!
