I booked a stay here as a reprieve from all of the craziness happening in the world this year, and The Gastonian delivered - I even extended my stay. I spoke on the phone with Jan, who was a delight in persona as well, and James goes out of his way to ensure that you are well cared for. Walter is a breath of fresh air, as is Tanya, and Melissa was thorough and extremely professional. So, that was my experience with the staff. The room was fabulous - I stayed on the ground floor, in one of the Lincoln Street rooms. I was a bit nervous about the private entry since I was traveling alone, but I soon found that there was no need for concern. After the first night, I felt quite safe, and even enjoyed the little pop-around the corner to go up the main stairs, or around back through the garden. I enjoyed taking my coffee or cocktail with me to sip outside my room, or in the garden as the sun came up or set. Breakfast was superb and executed perfectly, as were hors d'oeuvres each evening. I didn't make it to dessert each night, but when I did, this was excellent as well. I could go ono and on, but suffice it to say that I felt well cared for, never ever intruded upon, and I didn't want to leave. I'm still sad about it actually.

What a special place! Beautiful location in a quieter residential area near Forsyth Park, but super accessible to all things Savannah. My room was very clean and well appointed, and every member of the staff was welcoming, friendly and helpful.

Excellent hotel, would stay here again! The rooms are very spacious, cleaned, and beautifully decorated. The hotel is located in a very good location, near Forsyth Park and walking distance to the restaurant/bar scene but tucked away far enough so that it's nice and quiet. Would highly recommend!

The Gastonian is a great choice for a bed and breakfast in the heart of historical downtown Savannah. The location is perfect! Walking distance to everything. We stayed in the main house on the third floor. It was a beautiful room which included a working fireplace (which we used even in the middle of August), a lovely patio and an incredibly comfortable bed that I did not want to get out of. The chandelier added to the romantic vibe. My favorite part was the main sitting and dining areas. Beautiful furniture/decorations that made it incredibly cozy and inviting. The service was 5 star! James was wonderful and so accommodating. We checked in right as the evening dessert hour was ending and James put a plate together for us and even gave us a glass of wine, he carried our bags up to the third floor and then to top it off he gave us a little tour of some of the vacant rooms which was really fun to see. We were constantly offered water, sodas, whatever we needed which was a nice touch. The breakfast was really great... made to order omelet with delicious sides. They even offered to bring it up to our room. I didn’t like that they charged for parking and our room, although lovely, wasn’t perfectly cleaned. The floors were a bit dirty and there was a stain on one of the bath robes. Overall we had an amazing stay and would definitely recommend this B&B.

Dear Chevaf8b, Thank you so much for taking the time to share about your stay with us! We pride ourselves in making sure all of our guests leave relaxed and happier than when they arrive. I am so sorry to hear there were aspects of your stay that did not meet our standards. We strive to keep this 152 year old building in impeccable shape and cleanliness and I hope you give us a chance to prove it to you in the future. Had our desk been made aware of this, we would have jumped at the chance to correct this error. For our amenity fee, this is a charge that is pre-calculated into our room prices before booking. it is not an additional charge, it is clearly displayed in the cost breakdown on any booking site for our inn. The onsite and off street parking we offer is one of many other perks it includes. It also allows us to offer: Made-to-Order Breakfast, served in our dining room, on the pergola, or in your room via silver tray service A selection of complimentary house wines each evening Homemade hors d'oeuvres served with our wine reception Homemade desserts, coffee and cordials Complimentary Wi-Fi in your room and throughout the property Coffee & tea all day Complimentary bottled water and sodas Daily Housekeeping and Turndown Service Tybee Beach gear (2 chairs, umbrella, and 2 towels) Bicycle Storage Use of luxury cotton bathrobes in your room 24-hour Concierge Service prior to and during your stay In-Room Laptop Compatible Safe Private-Label Toiletries 15% savings at select businesses Again, i am so sorry we dropped the ball on your rooms cleanliness and that there was any confusion over the amenity fee. We hope to see you again so we may have a chance to make it up to you. if there is anything we can do for you in the future please don't hesitate to contact us. Warmest Regards, Courtney Caldwell Event Coordinator
