We had a great stay here. We stayed in the Juliette Scarborough and the lighting both natural and fixtures were beautiful. The colours and furniture for the room were period and studding. It was the most beautiful room we have ever stayed in and we stay in a lot of century home converted hotels. The bed was also the most comfortable bed! The staff were very kind and helpful. Sweet Walter always has a smile on his face. The breakfast was great as well. This did not affect our stay and owning an old home ourselves we certainly understand that renovations/restorations and repairs take time! That being said, the water pressure in our room was very poor and I had to wash my hair under the tap. Truly I didn't mind doing that and maybe the pressure cant be increased that greatly to the third story. If not, perhaps the price of the room can be adjusted to reflect this. The wallpaper in our room and in the stair well could use some repair and the ceilings on the main floor could use a couple coats of paint to cover old repairs. This could certainly do the house justice as its beautiful. Again these things did not affect our stay. We were happy to have on site parking and the location of this hotel is beautiful. We ran every morning at Forsyth which was a 2 minute walk from the hotel. We will be back! …
For the past 5 years, except for COVID-19 in 2020, my husband and I have spent a week in the summer at the Gastonian Inn, and have LOVED it each time. If you want to experience true southern hospitality, it's a must-stay if you're visiting historic Savannah. We love The Gastonian Inn family! From the back office to the front desk there's a "no-problem" service with a smile, there are delicious meals prepared by Chef James and Chef Tywan, served by Ms. Lynn and Ms. Tanya, nightly desserts by Ms. Tanya and Ms. Sabora, daily turndowns by Ms. Sheryl, the Inn's all-in-one gift, Mr. Walter, and so much MORE. Everything was exceptional. Thank you EVERYONE for another wonderful stay. Until next year.
The location is very convenient. The room we had was the most impressive rooms I've been in. The staff was soooo friendly and competent. They were truly there to make our stay better. If we ever return to Savannah, we will surely stay at the Gastonian again!!
Beautiful location, wonderful service, delicious food. Willing to ensure you have the best possible experience there. Would recommend to anyone looking for somewhere to stay, close to everything you want to see.
This was our 2nd visit to Savannah this year and both stays were at the Gastonian Inn. We will not hesitate to stay here in the future. Hats off to the Innkeeper for a superb job along with special mention to Savannah probably spelled incorrectly however she is incredible this was our second encounter with her both in January and again August. Also hats off to Chef James, Walter, Mike and all the staff who make you feel like family.
I cannot express how much we loved our stay at The Gastonian, I mean WOW! The home was absolutely stunning and the staff was the best we have ever come across. Absolutely amazing!! Would never stay anywhere else in Savannah!
Food was awful. Room was ok inside. Outside the courtyard wasn't really taken care of and the back had a random mattress leaning against the wall. Parking situation is horrible, and there is room only for 2 cars in the garage. But don't get excited. once you park there you can't really open your door or your trunk and you are parked next to the garbage containers and smoking area. We were also lucky that there was another random mattress leaning in the garage right behind our car. Not really a high class B&B feel.
We have been coming to the inn for years and just love the place. Great location with easy walking to restaurants and the river. The breakfast is excellent and the wine and snacks in the afternoon are very nice. Super friendly and helpful staff.
Our stay in the honeymoon/anniversary suite was amazing! The room is huge and beautifully decorated. The staff is A+ and did everything they could to make our stay amazing. The breakfast was DELICIOUS!
Celebrated our anniversary here and to quote my husband “best place we’ve ever stayed at and we’ve stayed at some amazing places.” Staff: when the staff say “my pleasure,” you can tell they mean it. It’s a sign of quality when there’s longevity in the staff, some of whom has been with the inn for almost 20 years. Chef James’s honey biscuits and cookies are worth breaking any low carb diet for. Tawnya was so sweet and cheery in the mornings that her presence really brightens the day. Kennedy and Tess did a fantastic job checking us in and accommodating our needs, especially the first night when we arrived almost 4 hours later than expected due to I95 traffic. Headmaster Walter’s love and care for the Inn was on display when he carefully eyed every detail of the parlor chandelier to put it back together after cleaning. The staff really do think of everything you would need during a stay and go out of their way to take care of the guests. Lodging: Each room at the Inn had its own personality and name. Each one is beautifully decorated and comfortable to stay in. The comfortable bed had just the right give to be soft but enough firmness to support. The blackout curtains blocks out the blazing Georgian summer sun. Location: The Gastonian Inn is two streets away from Forsyth Park and about a mile walk to the waterfront. The neighborhood street is lined with beautifully historic buildings, giving you plenty to admire during a walk. If you don’t want to do the walk, there are many free public transportation options near by. Amenities: the Inn’s breakfast is to stop dieting for. Their afternoon hors d’oeuvres and wine is a great pick me up after a long day of walking and visiting museums. The evening dessert and wine is the perfect way to end a day. We took a beach trip to Tybee Island and was able to borrow beach towels, chairs, and umbrella. Overall, we had an amazing stay and look forward to be back another time. The Gastonian Inn earned its rave reviews, awards, and accolades.…
