Like our Spanish-moss-draped city herself, Hotel Indigo® Savannah Historic District is the perfect mix of old and new. Our building—known to locals as the "Grand Lady on the Bay" due to her sweeping size—was once 19th-century mega-merchant Simon Guckenheimer's dry goods storage house and shop, which was filled with everything the South made best, from tobacco to canned peaches. The 1940s and '50s brought a grocery store with the city's first true coffeehouse. Now, the Grand Lady stands as a charming boutique hotel with modern style in a vibrant Ellis Square setting that reflects the essence of Savannah's renowned historic district. After a delicious breakfast or cocktail at our lobby bar, immerse yourself in our neighborhood's rich culture at City Market, located right next door. Then embark on one of the many fascinating tours Savannah has to offer; at least five of the city's iconic squares are located within roughly five blocks of our front door. Learn about the city's storied past before making your way down original cobblestone paths to famous River Street, where you can watch ships enter and exit the harbor while savoring Southern comfort food in restaurants that were once historic warehouses.

Very nice hotel. Great central location to just about everything....squares, carriage rides, shopping, drinking, eating. The elevator was very cool and the rooms were spacious with large bathrooms and showers. Valet parking was convenient and those working were very friendly. Nice bar for an evening night cap.

It went downhill from the start, when the car valet person told us there was nobody to help us with our bags (there was, she was just lazy). The room, which ended up costing $500 with taxes and pet fee, was Manhattan sized and in super ragged shape — dirty walls, scrapes on the curling (?), ripped curtains. The AC was struggling to cool the tiny room. (We stayed here once 1-2 years ago and it was fine) I suspect we would have been better off at the Holiday Inn down the street at 1/2 the price.

Check out day, housekeeping knocks door to see if I'm still here well before checkout. Same housekeeping that didnt leave towels and had to be called 2x to get them. pros good location cons small rooms no refrigerator no pool housekeeping horrible Valet parking is more expensive than a city parking ticket, less trouble too. For 50.00 or 75.00 more a night I could have stayed at a much better motel. Never stay at indigo. plenty of better places close by.

Hotel is very basic but in good location. No pool, no exercise room, no restaurant. They do have a bar and grill. Lots of restaurants near by. Rooms are basic. No refrigerator. No safe. No trashcan in room. Ice bucket but no sanitary bags for ice bucket. Shower only. Door to bathroom is so large ,or bathroom is so small, that it is difficult to go into bathroom. Toilet paper holder is odd and paper just falls off. Sink is in room and is first thing you see when you enter room. Beds comfortable. Internet is ok but not fast. Ok for email. Rooms clean. Parking is valet only and is $35 per day ( in and out). Weird elevators in that each must be called indivually even though side by side. Looks like a fancy hotel but is really basic.

Overnight on business. This hotel was luxurious from beginning to end. Everything in the room was updated and modern down to the paint. The bed was extremely comfortable and the shower was large and in charge. The layout was great and room service/food was divine. Staff was wonderful!! If ever back in Savannah, this will be my ONLY choice!
