The Lord Baltimore Hotel garners praise for its cleanliness and convenient location, making it a favorite for city exploration. While the rooms are recognized for their comfort, some guests find them to be noisy and dated. Opinions on value are split, with criticisms of unexpected fees contrasting with commendations for reasonable rates.
The staff's service earns high marks for their attentiveness and warmth, though isolated incidents of poor service are noted. The hotel's historic charm and amenities are well-liked, despite some finding the atmosphere to be less than inviting.

The Lord Hotel in downtown Baltimore is a fantastic place to stay! This hotel offers a peaceful and quiet atmosphere, with spacious rooms and a genuinely friendly staff who go out of their way to make you feel welcome. One of the highlights is their daily happy hour from 5–7 pm, featuring a fantastic menu at great discounted prices. The location is unbeatable—Camden Yards is right next door, with the Ravens stadium and the harbor both just a short 10-minute walk away. It’s the perfect spot to explore all the best attractions in Baltimore. I highly recommend The Lord Hotel for an excellent stay in the heart of the city!

A feel of 1920s elegance, but modern & clean. Excellent valet & housekeeping. Quiet. Really friendly people at the front desk & bakery/bistro ( shout out to Blake!) My husband is a patient at Johns Hopkins- valets took their time to help us & inquire about how he was doing. The staff made a rough time smoother with their compassion & kindness. Excellent front desk manager efficiently addressed any minor problem. Highly recommend.

All Staff were polite, but the 2 ladies in the Cafe were a joy. The highlight of our stay honestly. We had an issue in our room & the staff was just as visibly upset over it as we were when I showed them the evidence of our room issue. It really wasn't something that they could've controlled honestly. Not in this day & age anyway. Not for a historic hotel straight out of The Great Gatsby era. They went above & beyond as much as they possibly could to make it right & we wholeheartedly appreciated it. We weren't even looking for them to comp us anything & we told them as much. We just wanted to let them know this room had a certain issue that needed seeing to before they had their next guests stay in it. One thing they did was comp us breakfast which is how we met the lovely ladies in the Cafe. These 2 are just such sweet souls you immediately feel the warmth the moment you walk in the Cafe. They were polite, but not the kind of "The customer is always right" kind of polite. No, these 2 were those genuine kind souls that can make any bad day right as rain just in the warmth of their eyes & smile when they ask what they can get you. We had a purely genuine, heartfelt & heartwarming conversation while we waited for our food. By the time we left the Cafe these ladies even had our shy teen grinning, giggling & politely interacting with them. There's an old term here we rarely get to use anymore that can be plural or singular "They're good people". That's what these 2 ladies were. And I'll venture to say the cook was as well. We never saw, never heard him. But my uncle used to cater for the White House dinners & the kind of attention to detail this gentleman had in putting our food together took the kind of eye that said he wasn't just there for a paycheck. It was the same type of attention to detail my uncle gave everything that left his kitchen. Unfortunately, we booked thru Expedia & there was only so much the hotel themselves could do to help us. Expedia, did nothing to make it right. Lesson learned, we'll not use Expedia again.

The lobby and bar area are impressive. The problem, however, was with my room. I had absolutely no hot water. I was on the 12th floor, so I knew from prior stays at hotels on higher floors that it could take some time and so I ran the hot faucet in the tub as well as the sink. Neither one ever got above luke warm, or better described as not cold. Beyond that, the thermostat did not appear to work. The room was set at 72, which is fine but is far too cold for me. I turned the temperature to about 75 and the vent continued to blow cold air. I turned it off and back on then tried again to no avail. I was going out with friends, who had their own issues with their room, and so I thought maybe it needed time. I turned the temperature setting to 80 something but when I returned after several hours, the room was still cold. I notified the front desk the following morning at checkout and the nice lady apologized and said that she would have someone go look into it. I spent $180ish for this one night. At this cost, these problems are unacceptable. I will never stay at a non Hilton brand hotel again, much less this location, which is sad because it takes a LOT for me to dislike a place but I am just so disappointed.

Tl;dr - Avoid this place at all costs, and don't be fooled by the beautiful lobby. Our room was neither safe nor clean and when we asked to switch rooms, the concierge told us it was an us problem not a him problem, while staring down my girlfriend with a glassy stare indicating drug use. I'm not even mad about the experience anymore, just shocked that the hotel's standards are so low for both their rooms and their staff.
My girlfriend and I were looking for a place to stay in Baltimore as we were too tired to drive home to DC. We found the Lord Baltimore Hotel and thought it was nice enough after seeing some pictures, especially of the lobby which is stunning. We ended up
When we arrived the concierge I informed the concierge, whose name is Tico, that we had booked a room but there was an issue with the booking on my end. I rebooked right there in front of him and he told me to go wait while the booking went through and he would call me back when it came up on his system. I then waited in the lobby for about fifteen minutes before I finally was fed up waiting for him to call me back. He confirmed the booking had gone through with a lot of attitude. I don't care too much because my girlfriend and I were just happy to finally rest for the night.
When we got to our hotel room I went to wash my hands as I had been outside all day and used a towel (this would later prove disastrous). Upon closer inspection, the room was unsafe and disgusting. The fire detector looked to be covered up with some insulation or other foam like substance; i noticed the smell of smoke, the bathtub was peeling, and there were stains, and rust was visible. Neither my girlfriend nor I felt comfortable being in the room so we went down to the concierge desk to ask to switch rooms.
This is where our experience at the Lord Baltimore Hotel turned from bad to worse. Tico, the concierge, began questioning whether we had "disturbed" the room, completely avoiding the fact that the fire alarm was covered with an unknown substance and our other complaints. I told him I had washed my hands and used a towel and then with a snarky attitude said "so you have disturbed the room." I asked him what his point was and he started going on about how since we had disturbed the room it would require cleaning etc. again completely ignoring our complaints about safety. It's ironic really because the hotel clearly doesn't clean their rooms if our room was an indication of their standards. He kept telling us that the fire alarm issue was an us problem not a him problem.
Frustrated with his attitude, I told Tico if he won't switch our room, I'll just call my credit card company and dispute the charge. He then kept going on and on about how its not a him problem its an us problem while staring down my girlfriend. We ended up taking a video of the entire interaction and watching it back its clear he was on something with how glassy his eyes were.

I made a reservation with the Lord Baltimore hotel while I attended a work related conference from June 23-28, 2024. This is a historical hotel in the downtown Baltimore area, and offers many accommodations for their guests. Unfortunately, this hotel doesn't have a hotel shuttle to/from the BWI Airport.
After catching a taxi (+/- $40) from BWI to the hotel, I was greeted by a friendly bellhop attendant. The front desk staff was also very professional, and pointed out some of the hotel accommodations, local dining options, etc. The hotel is old in age, but has been updated for handicapped guests.
Now upon entering my room on the other hand, I discovered that the rooms are definitely old and in need of some updates. The beds were comfortable, the WIFI was very strong, and the air-conditioning was working great. But as you will see in the photos, the maintenance and housekeeping staff need to report and repair some issues in the rooms.
But on a good note, this hotel has a gym, business center, large classrooms, tavern/bar, a seasonal roof top bar, and a bistro & bakery. This was very convenient for guests that don't feel comfortable exploring the robust downtown area or the Baltimore inner harbor area.

I recently stayed at Lord Baltimore Hotel, and while the overall experience was satisfactory, I was disappointed by the lack of attention to detail in the bathroom. Upon arrival, I noticed that the bottle of soap in the shower was empty and appeared to have been left from the previous guest. It had no cap , was empty and was clearly used. Although the small bottles of shampoo and conditioner were provided and neatly placed on the sink, the condition of the soap was off-putting.
We addressed the issue with the front desk and they provided us with more shampoo and conditioner instead of soap.
Cleanliness and preparedness are critical for guest comfort, and I hope the hotel addresses this oversight in the future. It’s small details like these that make a big difference in a guest’s stay.

The Lord Baltimore Hotel is a short walk to all of the stadiums, the Horseshoe Casino, the Inner Harbor, and across the street from the CFG Bank arena. They have clean rooms and valet parking made it convenient to get checked in, even at 10:30 at night. We also took advantage of the Le Bistro for breakfast and although the menu seemed a little pricey, the amount of food definitely was worth the price! It was delicious! I highly recommend this location.

The Lord Baltimore Hotel, with its prime location in downtown Baltimore, MD, is truly a remarkable establishment that stands out among the rest. Its rich history and stunning architecture make it a unique and captivating destination for travelers.
As soon as guests step foot into the hotel, they are greeted by a grand lobby that exudes elegance and charm. The space is adorned with a beautiful grand piano, classic oil paintings, and polished brass accents, creating an atmosphere of sophistication. However, the true showstopper is the vaulted fresco ceiling, adorned with an immense Murano glass chandelier. This breathtaking feature adds a touch of grandeur to the lobby, leaving guests in awe of its beauty.
The Lord Baltimore Hotel is not only visually stunning, but it also offers a range of exceptional amenities. The Calvert Ballroom and the Versailles Room are both splendid event spaces that can accommodate a variety of functions and events. These rooms are meticulously designed and provide a luxurious setting for any occasion.
For dining options, the hotel offers the LB Tavern a modern interpretation of the classic restaurant and lounge. Here, guests can indulge in delicious cuisine and enjoy a vibrant atmosphere. Additionally, the LB Bakery is a contemporary coffee house that features freshly baked goods and local art. This charming spot is perfect for a quick bite or a leisurely afternoon spent sipping coffee and admiring local artwork.
One aspect of the Lord Baltimore Hotel that truly stands out is its exceptional breakfast. Guests are treated to a delightful spread of delectable options, and the French toast is particularly recommended. The hotel takes pride in providing a memorable dining experience, and the breakfast certainly lives up to that expectation.

The hotel was interesting…. I was surprised when I asked to check in a bit earlier than 4:00, and they wanted to charge me an extra $35. I chose to wait in the lobby as did many other guest. I have to admit I have never run into this at a hotel. After traveling all day, and arriving at 2:30, if rooms weren’t ready, I would’ve understood, but to charge extra for an hour and a half I thought was ridiculous…… That being said, there were staff members who were extremely helpful. Matt at the front desk took care of my luggage while I had to attend an additional session at my conference. The parking situation is a bit challenging, however, the valet manager, Hussein Abdullah, is a true gentleman and went up and beyond to make sure the guest were taken care of properly. He was always good for his word and extremely helpful. I really appreciated his professionalism. Rest assured parking will not be an issue. Thank you Hussein and Matt. LaVerne
