Rooms are lovely, clean and fresh. Staff are friendly. What I don't understand is that they only do breakfast for customers on weekends, you have to use the on-site shop which was shocking. Tried it once and had a soggy breakfast roll. Never stayed in a hotel that doesn't have a breakfast offering. Weird! They don't have a laundry service. Have to use the local laundromat. So certainty not an idea hotel for business users over a couple of days One morning jumped in the shower and was sprayed with dirty cold water. That was not a pleasant experience! (Apparently they had a water issue over night) This will be my last business visit to this hotel unfortunately. Shame, as it has a lot of potential.
The staff at Sonesta were wonderful. Michelle at the front desk was so informative, polite, sweet and made our stay that much more wonderful! James the valet for parking was fantastic. Never had to wait for the car and again very polite and friendly. The room as well as the hotel were extremely clean. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. Coffee shop convenient and clean. All around wonderful place to stay and I highly recommended the Sonesta at the Inner Harbor and many of their other locations. Sincerely- Frank
The first room we got reeked of smoke. They gave us another room immediately, but it begs the question, how well did they clean it if they didn't notice the smell? The guy checking us in was not quite rude, but obviously wanted to be elsewhere. The towels had stains on them. There was no room service, so we had to eat at the hotel restaurant, which was awful. The restaurant is not in a restaurant space, but has some tables put together on a grand staircase landing. This was okay for the breakfast buffet, but felt awkward for a dinner setting. The food selection was crap. There was only one waitress, so everything took forever and she got our order wrong. But the absolute worst part was the music. There was a DJ playing RnB music and it was so loud my kids were cringing and asking to go back to the room. The waitress couldn't hear our order. We asked for everything to go, but it took 40 minutes to get our order. By the time we got back to the room, we weren't even hungry, just nursing headaches. For the amount of money this hotel cost, I expected much better quality.…
Excellent in many ways, but bring flashlights. There were places in our room completely dark even with all the lights on. Is there such a thing as a 5 watt bulb? Elevators were very fast and responsive even though the hotel was full. Swimming pool very nice especially the spa. Could not get a meal the first night- restaurant was closed or nonexistent, not sure which. Espresso bar was closed when I went for coffee even though it was supposed to have opened two hours earlier. Room was large, attractive and comfortable. Location excellent, parking good and was free at least when we were there. We walked everywhere for two days.
The room was great , amenities were great as well but just wanted to say that the staff especially MR. Carlo grin at the front desk 11-7 shirt was a great addition to your family . He was helpful, and patient with answering customer questions. He should be rewarded before someone else tried to steal him away from the group . I am hotelier by trade in two countries from the Bahamas and the dc metro area so i can definitely am a great judge of character!
We had planned to stay at the Sonesta for 3 nights, but on our first night there was insufficient heat in our suite so we moved to a suite that had heat. This hotel does not have a restaurant, so to dine, we had to brave the freezing weather. Subsequently, we decided to shorten our stay to 2 nights. We used valet parking, but when we were leaving, the valet brought the wrong car and began putting our luggage in it. The hotel is wonderfully located at the Baltimore Inner Harbor, but it needs more and better trained staff … and a full-time restaurant.
Numerous roaches…especially when lights turned off! Woke up to a huge roach crawling on me! Awful and dirty! Don’t waste your money! Front desk staff unfriendly and abhorrent service when we complained about the uncleanliness!
We stayed for a weekend and some of the welcoming staff was wonderful. The room was nice and the location was great. The reason I deducted was because hotel is listed as 4 star and I had a greater expectation. The beds were not the greatest, a little to firm for my preference. The restaurant was out of a lot of things during dinner time. When we had the breakfast buffet our waitress was too busy drinking her coffee and talking to this other staff person the whole time, we had to keep going up to where she was to ask for things and she didn’t even collect our plates until the end. Then we had issues with the toilet, it got stopped up really for no reason and it overflowed into the floor. They had someone come to fix it but there was no one who could mop the floor. They just gave us towel to dry it up. I was fine with drying it up but drying up does not sanitize the floor. I just would expect more from a 4 star hotel. I’ve been to 2 and 3 star hotels and have had much better experience. If we come back to this area I will probably stay somewhere else.…
The place was nice. The people were courteous. The price was a little high for one night. Everything was clean. I was expecting more. The pool and whirl pool was clean. The room was nice. I have traveled a lot and small things mean a lot. Chocolate on the pillow. I did not feel a warm welcomed environment.
Very spacious room with a comfortable bed & all the amenities that we needed. Great view of the harbour with lots of bars & restaurants nearby. No breakfast is included but there is a small cafe on the ground floor selling snacks.
