Love the view and the size of the room but I wonder why $500 plus a night . I don’t see it , no offense, I travel all over the world and I am trying to understand the price , plus we never got any champagne, they were busy when we arrived , then they called late at night and we said it was to late to get it then so I guess today probably but as off now we have not received it, I hope the brand will impress me maybe that’s why , like I said no offense, we are happy but for what we got it should have cost less , and last I tried to trade my points over the phone and they said points are not accepted for that room . Not sure why .
The staff at Sonesta were wonderful. Michelle at the front desk was so informative, polite, sweet and made our stay that much more wonderful! James the valet for parking was fantastic. Never had to wait for the car and again very polite and friendly. The room as well as the hotel were extremely clean. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. Coffee shop convenient and clean. All around wonderful place to stay and I highly recommended the Sonesta at the Inner Harbor and many of their other locations. Sincerely- Frank
We used the gym bath/showers which were filthy. Hair, toilet paper all over the floors. Bath gel and conditioner dispensers were empty. The bath floor mat was never vacuumed. Complained several times but they continued to get worse. The yoga/exercise room floor had Fruit Loops ground in. The carpets leading into the gym were disgustingly dirty.
This hotel exceeded my expectations. The first impression of a hotel starts with the staff that greets you at check-in. The front desk clerk that checked us in named, Kristi, was wonderful. She greeted us with professionalism and courtesy that is sometimes lacking at other hotels. Kristi acknowledged that it was my birthday when I checked in and she treated me extra special. I thought that was very nice of her. She was pleasant and suggested places in the area for my husband and I to eat dinner. She was very knowledgeable of the surrounding area and recommended the BEST restaurant for breakfast, Blue Moon Too, it was only a four or five block walk. It was AMAZING! The hotel is BEAUTIFUL and IMMACULATE. The room was OUTSTANDING. I do not have any complaints or negatives to say about this hotel. Thank you, Kristi, for making my stay so pleasant and representing the Royal Sonesta with the utmost professionalism. …
I slept so well I bought the pillow! Seriously this was one of the best hotel stays I’ve ever had. It was quiet, the bed and bedding was perfect, and I took a luxurious bath before bed. The staff was friendly and professional, and it was quiet. As a bonus I had some yummy ramen right next door. Highly recommend.
Stayed at the Sonesta for just an overnight as we had an appointment at John Hopkins. The hotel is nice but it is in need of a facelift. After a few days I noticed a $25 charge on my bill as an "amenities fee" as the rude front desk clerk explained. "It's in the fine print." Then hung up. What amenities that I couldn't get at a Motel 6, I am unaware. Add that to the $29 they charge to stay in the garage that is joined to the hotel. Won't be back ever!
Stayed for an Os game. Easy 5 min walk to the stadium. Walked around the harbor and the hotel is in a great location. Great staff during check-in and check-out. James was a smiling face greeting us at the door. Room was a King Harbor View and it was spacious and has a great view from the 4th floor. (Room 416) Would easily recommend this place to anyone traveling.
At check in, was downgraded to a standard room when we had pre paid for a suite. I guess they thought we wouldn’t notice or we wouldn’t go thru bother of complaining. They didn’t tell us we had been downgraded and didn’t have our suite until we were fully checked in and discovered it on our own. Really shady dealings.
Honestly I can say that I made reservations way in advanced before this party. However, something told me to call a day ahead just to verify my reservations. Glad that I did because somehow that messed up on my reservations and I wasn't happy about that. The room that I had reserved wasn't the room that they had me down for. After speaking to the general manager he then upgraded my room since the room that I originally wanted wasn't available. I informed him that I wasn't happy and the reason that I wanted the room was because I was surprising my son by giving him a milestone (30th) birthday. I ended up getting the Presidential Suite and the inter connecting room (which I was very impressed, and satisfied). The service that I received which was complimentary valet, and help with all of the things that I had with me which was 3 carts full. Only complaints that I had about the suite is there were nothing to cook with, no dishes, no nothing thank God that I brough everything that I needed or I wouldn't of had nothing. The other thing that I was mad about was there were no stove top like in the other room that I had originally reserved. Therefore, I wasn't able to fix my vegetables and I was mad about that. Other then these things I can't complain because space wise these rooms is what I needed. However, the problem that I had was my son had problems once he arrived. The first thing was I added his name on the room as well. Also, he was supposed to get valet service as well. It didn't work out that way, first of all when he arrived and parked his car out front. Then when he got to the front desk, he stated to me that the people were very nasty to him and was giving him a look like he didn't belong there, or that he was about to do something crazy. This is what I called stereotyping him. He gave his name to the lady, and stated that the room was in his and his mother's name. At this point everyone was waiting in the room to surprise him because his fiance' texted and stated that they were on their way up to the room. Well then I received a phone call from the front desk stating that I had to come downstairs because they weren't letting him up to the room. I then stated for them to allow him and his fiancee' to come upstairs. As we all waited to scream surprise I received a text stating that they told him to move his car because he wasn't allow to park out front. So that took another 20 minutes because he had to find somewhere to park and then walk back to the hotel. At this point I was lived, and so mad. Finally after arriving to the room he stated that the service, and the looks that that was given to them was awful. My son stated that he started to just get in his car and drive away. But, because it was a surprise his fiancee' told him that he couldn't do that. The next morning I was conversating with him and some of his friends along with my fiancee' stated that the front desk was giving them nasty looks as if they didn't belong there or that they may be up to no good. The typically stereotype looks and how nasty that they were treated. This conversation came from numerous of people that attended the party. This part I'm not happy about, and it took me until now to finally write up this review because I knew that it would be long. I'm just now having the time to type everything up. Once again I'm glad that the room situation was abled to be handled however, I'm not happy about the way that some of my guests were treated. To be looked at, and talked to in a nasty manner is not ok. If I had known that this happened before checking out of the hotel I would have made my way down to the front desk and asked for the manager of the company's phone number. This is a disgrace to us!…
I stayed three nights for a work trip in late March/ early April and had a great trip. The Sonesta is in a great location: right beside the Harbour with its amenities, nice restaurants, and views, and with easy walking to the Orioles home and the convention centre. Room was large and had a good coffee maker and a bright bathroom. Best of all was the super comfortable bed: I slept off any jetlag. The best transatlantic recovery I have ever had. Desk staff are super warm and helpful. On my last day Michele and James went the extra mile to help me and look after my luggage and taxi to the airport. Genuinely good service: thanks so much!
