Chose the hotel for the advertised heated pool. Before booking, I asked if it would be an issue getting a pool time, or if there is a possibility of missing full days of pool usage. I was told that since my booking was during the week that I shouldn’t have any issues. Before checking in, we called to see the available pool slots... it was all booked up before we even check in for the day! It’s a short stay mind you. There is no budging. It’s for my child primarily. I asked for our last night parking fee to be waived as a courtesy for the inconvenience, and no was the answer. Manager Wendy wouldn’t do that for us. As a tip, DO NOT BOOK THE PARKING WITH THE HOTEL, save some money with SpotHero. Also we were never told we need a separate key for the pool, so we just stood there at the pool door trying to get in with our room key, no answer on the phone, and wasting time on our pool slot. And then having the front desk make up a story about seeing me that day and explaining the process really upset me, and even my daughter was surprised at the fabrication. Don’t care for the excuses. Make the customer happy, it’s a major amenity. If it’s so unreliable, and it is one of the major reasons people stay at your hotel, do something nice for the patrons, no matter what excuse you give, it’s built into the price, you expect to enjoy it every day of your booking. I told corporate I’m going to write a bad review if they don’t even attempt to make us happy in some sort of way, so here it is.

Stayed here 4 nights while in town for a conference at the Convention Center. Nice size room with refrigerator and safe. Good wifi -- free when you join their rewards program. Easy walk to convention center. Located directly across the street from Inner Harbor and visitor center. Many restaurants and tourist attractions nearby. Staff extremely friendly and helpful. Note that self park is $30 per night. Would definitely stay here again.

Thank you for staying with us at Royal Sonesta Harbor Court Baltimore while attending a conference at the Baltimore Convention Center, which is located 3.5 blocks from the hotel. Our stylish, well-appointed guestrooms are the largest in our Inner Harbor neighborhood, and boast more than the expected amenities. We appreciate the comments about our terrific team, and I am glad that my staff took great care of you over the course of a 4-night stay. We loved the view out onto the inner harbor!! The room was not well-cleaned, with hairs on the bathroom floor and something on the headboard. Not well maintained, peeling paint and water damage in the bathroom, in addition to no working fan in the bathroom, so no wonder. The entire fifth floor cooridor smelled like someone was smoking pot all day and night. Really irritating not to be able to open a window since ours was stuck. A series of doors and hallways led over to the parking garage so it didn't feel safe coming back after dinner. We don't recommend the hotel.

I am so glad you enjoyed our wonderful view of the Inner Harbor! I sincerely apologize for the cleanliness issues you experienced. This is not the norm for our hotel, and we're happy to discuss your specific situation with you offline. We are sorry that you felt unsafe walking from the parking garage to the hotel. Our 24-hour security team monitors who enters and exits the hotel, as well as who enters the guest elevators. We wish you safe travels.

We had an awful experience at our time at this hotel and felt extremely scared. After security tried to end a loud party, cops were eventually called to help. Super loud music, tons of drunk people, and during COVID-19? We complained and were asked to move so we could get some peaceful sleep. The security made us take a secret way out in fear of our safety. (SCARY) We woke up at 12:05AM to the sound of someone breaking into our room. We were thankful the extra lock was there or someone would have been in our room. The person kept trying to get in and my family was holding the door while my mother was calling the front desk and 911. How did they have our key to our room? Where did that person go? Who was the person with? Absolutely terrifying and management was very slow to react and made it sound like not a big deal. Please check security footage and find this person. Short black hair with bangs. We moved hotels and waited till the security guard and cops escorted us out. We are extremely disappointed in this hotel and scared out of our minds. DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL!!

Thank you for sharing your experience with us. I sincerely apologize for the series of incidents that resulted in the unfortunate experience you've described. We do have a very specific protocol in regards to guestroom noise issues that we do share in our welcome letter to all of our guests, which resulted in our eviction of all guests in the noise-making room. We continue to investigate the situation with someone trying to enter your room and I apologize for the terrible fright that caused. I know Ramond Sneed, our Director of Operations, has reached out to you directly, and he continues to investigate the circumstances from that evening. Thank you for your patronage and we hope you will give us another chance in the future to ensure a far better experience. Please contact me directly when you are ready to return to the Inner Harbor area. Best Regards, Bob Haislip General Manager (410) 347-9707 bhaislip@sonesta.com

Worst experience ever. On December 4th (my birthday) I booked a stay at the Royal Sonesta in a presidential suite. My stay was nothing less than surprising. There were about 5 guest including myself in the suite at the time. I got a knock at the door from security stating they received a noise complaint. During my time inside the suite there wasn’t any loud noise. I didn’t have a speaker in the room music was being played from a phone and the only game that my guest were playing was uno. Security stated he had to come up about the noise level and if another complaint was received that everyone including myself would have to leave. About 30 mins after the encounter with the security guard i went to the parking garage to retrieve items from my car on my way back to the suite I cross paths with the same security guard again and asked if he was coming from my suite. He stated yes they received another noise complaint and the guest that filed the noise complaint actually packed their things and left. Security confirmed that I also had to leave as well as my guest. I didn’t understand why I was still asked to leave after the guest had already made their exit. Security stated that it was protocol. Me and my guest were asked to leave at or around 3am. In the beginning as stated this was something that was planned for my 28th birthday I am staying in a suite enjoying my time I didn’t think that me booking with this hotel for the first time would require me to be as quiet as a mouse during my stay. Would not recommend.

Thank you for choosing Royal Sonesta Harbor Court Baltimore for your birthday, and for sharing your experience with us. Our hotel values our ability to ensure our guests a peaceful night's rest. When we receive a complaint from a guest that there is noise on the guestroom floor that is causing disturbance, we investigate. If we are able to confirm an inappropriate level of sound, we address the issue with the room making the noise. At that point we let our guest know to dial down the noise level and that if we receive another complaint, we will ask them to leave the hotel. We execute this protocol in order to ensure a good night’s rest for all of our guests, which we believe is a fair and reasonable expectation while a guest at Royal Sonesta Harbor Court. As you've described in your comments, the noise level that was disturbing other guests took place at approximately 3:00 am. The guest staying nearby your accommodations left the hotel, and later provided feedback about how your late-night celebration cost them a full night's sleep. As you would imagine, we did not charge that guest for their stay and we lost revenue and a loyal guest as a result of the noise levels coming from your suite. We do host events for guests celebrating a special event and we require that these celebrations be held in private event rooms that are not on the same floors as our guestrooms. These plans are made in advance through our sales and catering team. Our guestrooms and suites are intended solely as overnight accommodations.
