Detailed Reviews
For the most part we did enjoy our stay. Our room the first night was disappointing. Our fridge smelled like fish and our toilet seat was broken. Told the front desk they offered a new room but we had already unpacked our stuff so we chose to stay. We used the pool and the hot tub and enjoyed it. The next day while we were out the hotel called us and said there was a plumbing issue on our floor and they're giving us a different room. We were very annoyed but when we got to the new room it was bigger and so much nicer with an awesome view of the city. The bed was really comfortable the shower had great water pressure and got nice and hot. We ended up staying in the room all day the next day cause of the storm and we were very relaxed! That was until the couple next to us checked in. They were very loud! That night around 10 they started screaming and swearing at each other for about 45 minutes while we were trying to get our 3 year old to go to sleep. Then around midnight they started blasting music and the base was so bad it was vibrating the wall! We got so fed up we called the front desk. He said he'd call their room but the music was never lowered. 20 minutes later I called again and all the guy said "oh they didn't turn it down yet?" Then said he'd send security up. Well another 20 minutes goes by the music got louder. I called the front desk again. He claims that a security guard went to the door after I had called the last time. Then said that it's an older couple next to us and that he's going to have to give us a new room. It's was 12:45 at this point and we had a toddler. We were not moving! He said he'd give a call one more time. I don't know if he did but after 1:00 they finally turned it off. We had an early morning so we we really ticked off. We were so upset our last night there was like that. This review would have been much different if it wasn't for that. I don't remember the man's name but he wasn't not very helpful just all talk. The woman at the front desk during the day was great though! Very helpful and very kind! I just wish I remembered her name!
The restaurant has great food for dinner! We ordered our first and last night and we both were very happy with our meals! The breakfast not so much. We ended up with McDonald's the next two days. I would recommend the hotel hopefully no one else runs into that problem!

First, I would like to apologize for the inconvenience you incurred during your stay with us. Please know the guest playing the loud music was contacted at least two times by our Front Desk agent and our Security person. It's nice to hear you enjoyed the rest of your stay and that you were pleased with the food in Tradewinds Restaurant. Our breakfast menu is limited right now because of Covid restrictions, but we are looking forward to the day that we can return to our full hot buffet breakfast. We appreciate your review and look forward to seeing you again the next time you are in the area.

My employer pays for us to stay here several times a week. And we work night shift so sleeping during the day is very important to us. Twice now I've had the do not disturb sign on the door. Only to have house keeping knocking on my door every 20 minutes asking when I'm going to leave. Why have the do not disturb sign if your just going to ignore it.
we prefer the 12 floor because it's the quietest and we need to sleep during the day. but for some reason they are always "full" twice now George the night guy had told me the rooms are full only to find out the next day that they did infact have available rooms. I don't appreciate being lied too. When questioned he said they have assigned rooms for elderly, young people, etc. I'm not sure what that has to do with anything.

I would like to apologize for the problems you incurred during your stay. I will discuss this issue with our Executive Housekeeper and make sure her team is aware of the problem. Our 12th floor is our Executive level and would require an additional fee at check-in based on request. Although it may not be the case with you, some of the workers staying with us bring in excessive amounts of coal dust and oil that is difficult to clean and therefore it is necessary for us to replace all of the linens as well as shampooing the carpet. Because of the nature of the construction/port workers job duties we must take every measure to dedicate the 8th and 9th floors.to those guests. Thank you for your review.

I’ve stayed at this hotel many times over the last several years, as I am a John Hopkins patient. This time the room wasn’t clean. I could tell the surfaces hadn’t been wiped off (there was food on them) and the bed sheets hadn’t been changed (wrinkled and there were hairs in them) I asked for new sheets and changed my bed myself.. luckily I had brought Lysol wipes and spray due to COVID precautions, so I cleaned the room myself.

It feels like 'it's home again' because this is the major place we stay when in Baltimore. The service is always first rate and every effort is made to make us feel at home. The staff is friendly and always helpful. We would not stay elsewhere when we are in Baltimore.

This past Saturday, February the 21st, we hosted a birthday get together for family and friend in celebration of our sweet daughter turning 1 year old.
We rented out the Fort McHenry room and it was a perfect size for the number of guests we had, somewhere around 50. The room was clean and set up nicely and the buffet style food selection was presented hot and ready for all our guests.
We were even able to bring some food we had made ourselves and they provided the chaffing dishes to keep them warm and ready to be eaten. The woman who was keeping an eye on our party was polite and prompt with all of the things she was charged with.
We were allowed to come in the day before to set up personal decorations for the event which made the day of much less stressful. All in all the experience was exactly what we were looking for and I would be hard pressed to find a complaint.

My family and I decided to stay at the Best Western Plus Hotel and Conference Center in Baltimore on O'Donnell St. Huge mistake.
The We Care Clean method they are claiming to follow is far from what we experienced. While there are posters throughout the hotel addressing mask wearing and social distancing, this was not being followed. Guests were walking through the halls, lobby, dining areas, etc. not wearing masks and not one person employed by the hotel enforced the rules they set.
In our room, we found numerous brown/yellow/red stains and dirt stains on the sheets and mattress covers. In the middle of a pandemic where cleanliness is imperitiative, the bed my child was to sleep in had more stains than the carpet. We were then set up in a room next to other guests that had at least 15-20 different people in and out of their room all night. In addition to a flooding shower, broken vents, smoke smell coming through the vents each night, and detached carpet baseboards, we were awakened by loud voices throughout the stay. When we tried to get breakfast in the “Grab and Go” boxes, none were available, and guests were to carry breakfast items in their hands.
I spoke with a manager who said she will follow up, but when I was explaining concerns, she failed to write anything down. Just nodded and said “okay”. Her lack of interest led me to believe my concerns may go unaddressed.
It's concerning that a huge hotel that is claiming assurance of safety precautions of those visiting there, working there and for the people living in its immediate surroundings, has taken such a laid back, substandard approach in relation to customer safety and satisfaction, during such a crucial time in public health.

First room we were given was supposed to be NON-SMOKING; smelled like a smoke chamber. We called the front desk and they gave us another room. The staff member that brought up our new room card agreed w/ us on the smoky smell. The next day we used the complimentary shuttle to the Inner Harbor area, Baltimore, MD. When we called the hotel for the return shuttle, at 2:30 pm, they told us to be at the pickup spot at 3:30. No problem, we grabbed a snack and took our time. We arrived at the PU spot at 3:20 and we waited, and waited and finally called the hotel back at 3:45 and was toldthat the driver was on his way. So we waited until 4pm; Called back again and was told that the driver was just now setting out to come pick us up. We cancelled and took a $17.00 Lyft ride back. Once at the hotel, we requested to speak with a mgr. and s/w Dawn. She heard our story and stated she would take the amount off of bill. However not before she told us that the driver was NEVER on his way but had gone downtown to pick someone else up. In other words we were lied to. this was a 40 minute wait in Baltimore in February in the 30 degree range. Oh i should also mention that the money promised to us for the Lyft ride was no refunded to us until AFTER returning fro an 8 day cruise AND calling the hotel on our return on 3/7/20.

I would like to apologize for the mix-up with your shuttle transportation. Please know this will be discussed with our Front Office Manager as well as the Shuttle Supervisor to better understand what went wrong. Our entire hotel is designated smoke-free and we offer a smoking area outside. Unfortunately, there are guests that choose to smoke in a room and they are charged a $150 cleaning fee as the room then needs to be deep cleaned and fumigated. Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. We hope you will give us another chance the next time you are cruising out of Baltimore.

The staff especially Affe was 100% wonderful. The hotel was safe and well sanitized as well as equipped with sanitizer stations on every floor and in common areas. But most of all the front desk staff and maintenance were awesome. Housekeeping was especially great as well.

Stayed 1/22 thru 1/24. Stayed specifically at this location due to close proximity to the National Aquarium in Baltimore but more so since they still had an open indoor pool. They were scheduling rooms in 45min intervals so as to still socially distance while enjoying said pool. The hotel cleaning/serving staff are excellent. I had a gut feeling I shouldn’t be staying here from the get go but figured I’d give it a shot. The front desk reps are not easy to work with. The patron ahead of me before checking in had his security deposit taken from him by front desk representative. To then be told that for some reason their check in was scheduled for the day before and they couldn’t change it in their system. So then why take the patrons deposit beforehand. Hotel was clean although outdated. Checked in just fine without issues and then scheduled times for pool access. Next day keycards aren’t working, which is not a big deal but then walked by pool area and noticed people were still in the pool during our time slot. I head to front desk to be told that management for today only decided to let up to 20 in the pool without any social distancing rules in place. Completely different to what we were told. I asked for management only to be told that there was none available till Monday. How convenient. We purposely chose this s hole so we would be able to enjoy the pool. Instead of going with a much better hotel closer to the bay. Would definitely not recommend this hotel since clearly they don’t uphold social distancing guidelines!! If I could give it 0 star I would!!

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us on TripAdvisor. Our staff does their best to monitor social distancing amongst our guests, but as you could see, it can sometimes be challenging. We have signs requiring masks all over the hotel as well as hand sanitizers near every elevator. We schedule up to 15-20 guests in the pool each hour and hope that guests respect each other's space and social distance from each other. Please know we take the Covid guidelines for sanitizing and social distancing very seriously.

Yes, the pool is open, but you must go to the Front Desk and reserve a time spot as we are limited to the number of people in the pool at the same time. The hours are 10:00 AM- 8:00 PM each day. Thank you.
Yes, The pool is OPEN & Operating. Due to COVID-19 there is a limit of guest per hour. Please see Front Desk to Schedule your time in advance. Any other questions or concerns please do not hesitate to contact us at 410-633-9500. Have a wonderful day!

The shuttle runs every hour but you have to inform the front desk an hour before your pick-up time.
No, this is a non-smoking hotel. There is a place outdoors under an awning where you may. A lot of Hopkins Cancer patients stay here. Several floors especially for them is why.
Personally, I would not go wandering around in this neighborhood. It is not a great area. You need a car to get around.
