Our room was spacious with the most comfortable bed. If you don't like the sounds of the city, don't stay here. Personally, I love falling asleep to the sounds of cars, sirens, etc. Great location close to great local restaurants, Symphony Hall, bus stops, the lite rail and subway are just a short walk away. David is quick responding to questions about his rooms and wonderful to work with. We had such a great experience, we will return in October.
We live in the Metro NY area, and recently had a family celebration in Baltimore, MD, for which we were seeking safe, clean, comfortable accommodation close by, for roughly 4 days and 3 nights surrounding the event. The space needed to be suitable for 3 generations of our family, including relatives from overseas and out of town guests, all under one roof. The owner of Biddle Street Inn, was referred to us by our local cousin who knew he had purchased a 150 year old, 4 story building in the heart of the city, which he had remodeled and converted into an AirBnB, that also offered the convenience of off street parking. After several helpful exploratory conversations, we reserved 12 of the 14 available rooms, each with en suite bathrooms, and a microwave and mini fridge, for 29 people in total, spanning all ages, including some of our grandparents' generation in their 90's, to two young children and an infant. Management was able to reserve the rooms on the 1st and 2nd floors for the frail and elderly and the upper levels for those who could easily manage the flight of stairs to the 3rd and 4th floors. Though typically not available with the room rental, a partially finished space on the ground level was cleaned up and made available for us to congregate informally in the evenings. Upon our arrival we were pleased to find the guest areas beautifully remodeled, rooms and bathrooms spotlessly clean, beds comfortable, and air conditioning helpful during the August heatwave. A bowl of fresh fruit and bottles of cold water awaited us in the lobby. The weekend was a resounding success. Biddle Street Inn turned out to be a wonderful, cozy, city retreat for our family gathering, within easy distance to the wedding venue, to Penn Station, to tourist sites around the harbor, museums, Symphony Hall, and to several houses of worship. Our stay was comfortable, the rotating staff cordial in providing help with the logistics of the arrivals and departures of members of our large group at all different hours. On several occasions they cheerfully unlocked rooms when keys had inadvertently been forgotten inside. Assistants Tommy and Carlos even offered assistance in transferring our weekend supplies to our vehicles when time came to depart. A special word of appreciation to the gracious owner, for anticipating our needs, and providing a temporary home away from home, a space that exceeded our expectations, and enabled our family from near and far to bond and celebrate with joy. Thank you! Barbara and Paul H.…
Depending what brings you to Baltimore, this place is a great choice-- it's close to the I-83 highway, only a couple block walk away from the Charles-St. Paul St. transit route (that made it super easy for us to get to Inner Harbor and museums), Meyerhoff Hall and the U. of Baltimore, and close to a multitude of restaurants and shops on Charles St. and vicinity. There's a Dunkin' Donuts just down the street for breakfast. We felt safe and comfortable in the neighborhood, and enjoyed the beautiful architecture of this part of Mt. Vernon neighborhood. The room itself was very large, and well equipped with mini-fridge, microwave, coffee maker, and tons of closet space. The wifi was very good. The arrival process is super easy, with an access code to get into the front door (with keypad), and then the room key was in the door. Of course the room was very clean; the beds had very comfortable duvets (and although the weather was very hot and humid, the air conditioning was very good and made sleeping comfortable). The bathroom had plenty of electrical outlets (four!) We even enjoyed the chandelier and fireplace (faux). There is a parking lot right next door, for an extra fee. Communication with the owner was excellent-- very fast and helpful. This is an excellent choice for central Baltimore.…
This Airbnb was VERY close to our daughter's home -- less than a block away. Room was still in the process of being cleaned when we arrived. It could have used another lamp or two -- there was one lamp on one side of the bed, so it was too dark to lay in bed and read if you were on the other side. The mini blinds had "issues". We raised one and then just COULDN'T get it back down. We had to put towels in the windows to get dressed and undressed. Wi-Fi was very spotty -- kept coming in and going out. No maid service throughout the entire weekend, but maintenance men were in and out and more than happy to help in any way they could. All in all, a decent place.
A charming 4 story Victorian building in the fantastic Mount Vernon neighborhood of Baltimore. The place was immaculately clean and comfortable. The location was fabulous - the neighborhood is historic, safe, central and full of great restaurants, night clubs, quirky shops, galleries, and pubs. Look forward to my next stay there!
We needed two rooms in the Mt. Vernon section of Baltimore and were very pleased both rooms. The building is interesting, the rooms were clean, the beds were comfortable, and many fun places are nearby.
Myself, my sister and niece spent 3 nights there. The room was large, included a kitchenette, and it was very clean. The staff, especially Raymond, were outstanding. I would not hesitate to stay there again.
What a great place! Not fancy. Very well maintained, immaculately clean and convenient location. The staff is very accommodating and available by cell phone. Not a traditional check in but Raymond was always helpful. Tommy too! Fresh fruit in a bowl in the lobby, bottled water always available. Anything you may need assistance with is a phonecalll away. The owner is also very nice, David. This place is worth he stay.
Four of us came down for an Orioles game and stayed the night. Beautiful woodwork and flooring greet you as you enter. We stayed in a nice sized room with two queen beds which were very comfortable. We met both the owner and property manager who were both very friendly and accommodating. Parking was a breeze. Lovely and convenient area. Air conditioning system was a lifesaver. We were even given free cupcakes upon our arrival back from the game. Highly recommended and definitely the place we will stay when we go back down to Baltimore for a visit.
I stayed here for a week in 2011 when the property was under previous management and then again for a brief stay in June of 2015. What a difference! The Inn has been transformed from an old, worn out place to a sleek, impeccably clean, wonderful place to stay in Mount Vernon. The check in process is still fairly anonymous so if you are looking for constant concierge service this is not the place for you. If you look for an affordable, clean place with reliable Wifi look no further!
