Parking was free and convenient. Everything was clean and worked; the room was big; wifi was fine. We were there for four days, and the breakfasts were among the best we have ever had at a B&B, anywhere in the world. Linda, the innkeeper, knows her city and gave us useful information about several things to do and see. We were able to walk from Rachael's Dowry to almost everything we wanted to see in Baltimore.

My spouse and I stayed for several nights while I was at a conference downtown. I am so glad we chose at Rachel's Dowry over the conference hotel! Linda is the perfect host, warm and professional and very knowledgeable about the fascinating history of the house and neighborhood. Our room was large, cheery, and comfortable (and George Washington may have slept there!) Very comfortable bedding and chair for reading in the room, with big windows and nice light. Sumptuous multi-course breakfasts (with great coffee or tea) over which you'll want to linger. The house is beautifully decorated and the common spaces cozy and welcoming. I so enjoyed walking back to the B&B each afternoon for a tea-and-cookie break from conferencing, sitting in the peaceful breakfast room overlooking the outside patio. Easy walking distance from beautiful harbor walks, aquarium, museums, restaurants....Can't wait to stay again, just for fun this time!

This was the first time that we stayed at Rachael's Dowry. The house is amazing, full of history and character. Furnished with beautiful antiques and period furniture, you are transported to another era. As for the owner, Linda, you could not ask for a kinder, friendlier and more compassionate individual. To make things even more special, if, like me, you prefer to - or need to - eat gluten-free, I have enjoyed the most delicious gluten-free breakfasts while my husband dined without restrictions. Gluten-free treats abound throughout the day that EVERYONE could enjoy with their coffee or tea. Thank you so much, Linda! We are looking forward to our next visit to your beautiful home!

I booked The Letitia Mae Suite which is the only room with a balcony overlooking the courtyard where I had my coffee before breakfast on a sunny 48° January morning. The haint blue on the balcony porch ceiling and Southern Magnolia tree made my short overnight trip feel more like a vacation. The queen-sized bed was extremely comfortable (not something that I've commented upon in other B&B reviews) and the room had a cute *working* electric logs and flame fireplace, which gives the room great ambiance while feeling safe. The bathroom was quite large and included a claw-foot tub and walk-in shower. I stay in historic homes for the ambiance and you can't beat the old hardwood floors and small touches that Linda made around the room and throughout the inn. She even keeps a collection of books written by authors who have stayed at Rachael's Dowry! The breakfast was delicious and included an old family recipe. It's an easy walk to/from Westminster Hall and Burying Ground where the author Edgar Allan Poe is buried. The location is quiet, has convenient parking, and is located in a great (and safe for solo female travelers) area. I felt comfortable walking at night. I cannot imagine staying elsewhere in Baltimore after staying here. I plan to return.

Our stay at Rachel’s Dowry was amazing! We booked the Ella Virginia suite on the 3rd floor which has a wonderful soaking tub and an electric fireplace in the bedroom. The fireplace was great because you could enjoy the ambiance and experience of the fireplace but elect to turn the heat on or off to remain comfortable. Linda, the innkeeper, is smart, knowledgeable and personable and an unbelievable cook! One of my favorite parts of the stay was eating the delicious breakfast Linda cooked and talking with her in the dining room each morning. We learned so much about the history of the house, Baltimore, and American history in general while staying at Rachel’s Dowry and that made the experience even better all the way around. The house is beautiful with spacious rooms and tons of attention to detail, including well maintained original hardwood floors throughout that don’t creak when you walk around. All of the rooms are unique and provide an immersive experience to help you connect with the rich history of the city. The B&B is also well located, making it easy to get to the inner harbor, restaurants, and the many attractions of the area. If you’re not sure where to eat or what to do, Linda can definitely help you! She goes out of her way to ensure you have the best possible experience when you stay at Rachel’s Dowry. We’ll be back again in the Spring and can’t wait to enjoy the courtyard when the weather is nice!

Such a lovely place to stay in Baltimore. Super close to the Harbor so it was simple for us to get around town. The host Linda was personable and thoughtful the whole visit. Her breakfasts were a lovely bonus you won't find at a big hotel, and the rooms had incredible character with plenty of modern finishes. Linda had everything we could possibly need available at all times (tea, cookies, water, etc.) Would recommend staying here to anyone!

Innkeeper/owner Linda is absolutely amazing. Such a warm welcome with a wealth of knowledge of the history of the B&B and area. Helpful suggestions about things to do, restaurants, etc. Breakfast was fantastic! Able to accommodate any food allergies and preferences. Breakfast was HUGE, delicious, decadent two courses with carafes of warm coffee, juice, & water. More than I could eat and so filling that I skipped lunch throughout my stay. B&B is gorgeous, clean, quiet, and peaceful. I stayed in Carrie Frank room. Room was so spacious with sitting room and bedroom. Gorgeous natural light from multiple windows overlooking brick-layed courtyard. Deliciously comfortable queen-sized bed with luxurious sheets. White noise machine provided to ensure high quality sleep. Ceiling fans present in both bedroom and sitting room along with thermostat to ensure comfort. Bathroom was ADA accessible with walk-in shower. Dual shower heads provided a relaxing and indulgent shower. Towels were soft, large, and smelled heavenly. Two robes were available for use. Iron, ironing board, hair dryer, and 2 luggage racks were also available. Sitting room had a small table with 2 chairs, wing-backed chair, daybed, and TV for relaxing. Bottled water, 2 wine glasses, and corkscrew provided for use. House has ice water, electric water kettle, tea, coffee, ice, & cookies available for guests. Common areas have books, games, seating, etc. Parking is close and easy to access. I wholeheartedly recommend staying at Rachael’s Dowry B&B and will be back!
