My wife and I and 4 other couples made Baltimore Inner Harbor our 2019 new year's eve destination. Our group of lifelong friends have been spending new year's eve together at select B&Bs for more than 30 years and we all think Rachel's Dowry B&B was our most favorite ever. The house is one of the most historically significant in Baltmore, beautifully restored and maintained with period antiques and reproductions. The B&B is virtually right next to Camden Yards stadium and was only a 15 minute well lit walk to the Inner Harbor festivities. The dining room boasted a large table perfect for playing our card games and the living room was a comfortable setting for our gift exchange custom. The bedrooms have are very well appointed in period furniture, large comfortable beds and private bathrooms, all equipped with all of the amenities we could hope for. Another nice feature on the second floor was a common area between suites with a small refrigerator stocked with water, a coffee maker stocked with K-cups and a door that lead to an outside balcony and seating area. Rachel's Dowry is a true gem that we will certainly use again when we overnight in Baltimore.

My wife and I recently traveled to Baltimore for appointments at Johns Hopkins Hospital and rather than staying at a more modern hotel at Inner Harbor, I decided to surprise her with a stay at this historic bed and breakfast.

We are really glad we got to stay here. Linda was very attentive and accommodating. Traveling during this Covid pandemic is very different and unusual. Linda was very in tune with the restrictions and suggestions for social distancing and took extra precautions to ensure her inn was extremely clean and her guests were safe.

We had a couple of free days and Linda helped with suggestions for some sightseeing. Although most sights were still closed, we enjoyed taking the train in to DC. The Camden station is a short walk from the inn and the train took us straight in to Union Station. We also visited the beautiful Hillwood Estate and Gardens about 30 minutes south of Baltimore. We enjoyed walking each evening to nearby restaurants that were serving meals and drinks outdoors.

Linda is a great host and cook. We enjoyed talking with her each morning and evening and she really helped make our visit memorable. Our schedule was different each morning and she adjusted breakfast plans to accommodate us even packing a “to go” breakfast one morning to take on the train. We plan to return a few times a year and will make sure to stay with Linda each time… Did I mention the bed was the most comfortable bed ever???

Hi! I'm so happy that you enjoyed your stay as much as I enjoyed having the two of you. Yes, strange times, but we can definitely work with the "new normal". I'm really looking forward to future visits, and will do all I can to make them perfect for you. See you soon!

We stayed here for a weekend in September 2020 and it was AMAZING! Linda has a ton of covid protocols (masks for everyone, leaving 48 hours between rooms being used etc) and we felt very happy with them. She is super interesting to chat to (ask her about the NZ rugby team!) and the breakfasts were delicious (and huge). She gave us great ideas of what to do. Easy walk to the Inner Harbor. We had the Ella Virginia Suite on the top floor and it was super comfortable with beautiful furniture. Oh, and there is parking! We will definitely be back!

My husband and I stayed here last week. Everything was wonderful. The location was close to the conference we attended and
within walking distance to restaurants and we also walked to Edgar Allen Poe’s gravesite and Babe Ruth’s birthplace . The Breakfast was really good and the hostess explained the history of the house to us during breakfast. We will stay here again if we are ever back in the area. We were in the 3rd floor and it does take a bit for the shower water to heat up!

My husband and I visited Baltimore for an Orioles baseball game and weekend get away. We can whole heartily agree with all the positive reviews for Rachel’s Dowrey. Linda, our host, and her sister Sharon (both fellow Penn Staters 💕) shared local history, excellent homemade breakfasts (French toast like no other with lemon curd sauce and a Frittata both healthy and great tasting!), all kinds of tips for site seeing, dinners and getting around. There are so many positives about the location — safe, residential neighborhood; minutes walking to Camden yards and the inner harbor; private garden space to enjoy quiet time, a glass of wine or visit with other guests; balconies; large, exquisitely appointed rooms with antiques and artifacts all with private bathrooms; Great direct tv and WiFi (if you find the time 😊); Private parking too - a big plus in Baltimore. The best treat — Linda’s cookies. Don’t miss the Peanut Butter 💕 We can’t wait to return.

I booked The Letitia Mae Suite which is the only room with a balcony overlooking the courtyard where I had my coffee before breakfast on a sunny 48° January morning. The haint blue on the balcony porch ceiling and Southern Magnolia tree made my short overnight trip feel more like a vacation.
The queen-sized bed was extremely comfortable (not something that I've commented upon in other B&B reviews) and the room had a cute *working* electric logs and flame fireplace, which gives the room great ambiance while feeling safe. The bathroom was quite large and included a claw-foot tub and walk-in shower. I stay in historic homes for the ambiance and you can't beat the old hardwood floors and small touches that Linda made around the room and throughout the inn. She even keeps a collection of books written by authors who have stayed at Rachael's Dowry!
The breakfast was delicious and included an old family recipe.

It's an easy walk to/from Westminster Hall and Burying Ground where the author Edgar Allan Poe is buried. The location is quiet, has convenient parking, and is located in a great (and safe for solo female travelers) area. I felt comfortable walking at night.

I cannot imagine staying elsewhere in Baltimore after staying here. I plan to return.

Our stay at Rachel’s Dowry was amazing! We booked the Ella Virginia suite on the 3rd floor which has a wonderful soaking tub and an electric fireplace in the bedroom. The fireplace was great because you could enjoy the ambiance and experience of the fireplace but elect to turn the heat on or off to remain comfortable. Linda, the innkeeper, is smart, knowledgeable and personable and an unbelievable cook! One of my favorite parts of the stay was eating the delicious breakfast Linda cooked and talking with her in the dining room each morning. We learned so much about the history of the house, Baltimore, and American history in general while staying at Rachel’s Dowry and that made the experience even better all the way around.

The house is beautiful with spacious rooms and tons of attention to detail, including well maintained original hardwood floors throughout that don’t creak when you walk around. All of the rooms are unique and provide an immersive experience to help you connect with the rich history of the city. The B&B is also well located, making it easy to get to the inner harbor, restaurants, and the many attractions of the area. If you’re not sure where to eat or what to do, Linda can definitely help you! She goes out of her way to ensure you have the best possible experience when you stay at Rachel’s Dowry. We’ll be back again in the Spring and can’t wait to enjoy the courtyard when the weather is nice!

My wife and I have been repeat visitors to Rachael’s Dowry Bed & Breakfast for several years. A couple of years ago, I brought several members of our family for an overnight stay and occupied all of the rooms! It’s simple why we keep coming back: When it comes to choosing accommodations within walking distance to Camden Yards and M&T stadium, there is no better choice. When you compare prices with the “big box” hotel chains, combined with all of their constraints and fees, there is no comparison. Taking it all one step further, Linda prepares a morning meal that’s indescribable. All of this, combined with a quiet neighborhood setting, lovely furnishings, a usually flexible check in and check out schedule, you’re doing yourself a disservice looking elsewhere. My only regret over the years is that my wife and I spent several years staying in the big box hotels before discovering Rachael’s Dowry. Learn from our mistake – believe me!

We stayed two nights in the Randolph Room on the 3rd floor of this historic B&B. Upon arrival, we parked in the reserved lot where we were greeted by Linda, the Innkeeper. After a very short walk to the private courtyard with its magnificent magnolia tree, she gave us a tour of the property and shared her vast knowledge of the home's history. Our room with private bath was cozy and clean, furnished with period antiques, and provided a peaceful ambiance even with a full house of guests. We were spoiled with complete breakfasts on a beautifully set table of fruit, scones, quiche, Eggs Benedict, juice and coffee. There were added treats of cookies and candy kisses during the day. We enjoyed the conversation and especially the time and hard work Linda put into keeping her guests accommodated. I forgot my toothbrush, but Linda took care of that, too! Thank you for a pleasant stay. This will be our go-to place whenever in Baltimore.

My mom and I only stayed one night at Rachael’s Dowry because we were on a road trip, but we wished we could’ve stayed longer! Linda, the innkeeper, is an absolute gem and so gracious. She gave us a lovely little tour and some history of the house upon greeting us before showing us to our room. The rooms have their own individual temperature controls which was a blessing with how hot it was when we were there. Breakfast was delicious and 100% gluten free for me (I have celiac and was very reassured to find out that Linda does too!). I definitely want to return to Rachael’s Dowry to explore more of Baltimore.

Private parking is available...however, you must contact the Innkeepers for pricing and availability...they will be glad to assist...they might have to meet you in order to get to the lot as it's a little tricky to find even though it's just behind the Inn...we found it a safe location.
