The Crest was one of the more affordable places we booked on our trip, but probably our favorite. First impression was that it was somewhat dated, but once we settled in we loved it! The room was spotlessly clean and the view was unbelievable! At sunset the whole complex migrated to the balconies and lawn and everyone just soaked in the view. It was really kind of fun with everyone out like that. Would highly recommend over staying downtown Astoria. I added some views from outside our room on the patio.

Shame on me for being cheap. I reserved one of the lowest-priced rooms, big mistake. No view and a very small room. If you weigh over 200 pounds the shower will be tight. The boy working the desk when we checked in reminded me of Chad on Saturday Night Live, not the most helpful. First impressions are important. The security mechanism on the room door had been removed (you could see the screw holes where it had been) and the main door lock didn't work well. When I went back to reception to inquire about the lock, Chad told me that the lock on that particular room required pulling on the door in a particular way to get it to work. Wish he had told me that before. Due to COVID, breakfast was ordered on a form and delivered to the room. It came on time and actually was pretty good. Don't be a cheapskate like me; reserve one of the view rooms. Also, the turn-in to the hotel from Eastbound US 30 is tricky, with a bit of a blind curve. There was a bad wreck not long before we arrived, so be careful turning into the motel.

From check in to check out, my experience was exceptional. Friendly staff, spectacular view and an excellent sack Continental Breakfast delivered to my room. My room was extremely clean and tidy. The mattress was beyond comfortable. I felt like I was sleeping on a cloud. I had a most restful sleep. Better than my own bed! I will be back and I highly recommend this property.

This was one of the most affordable places to stay in Astoria and has a great view. Pros: - staff was great, polite and helpful, you can tell they really care - while the rooms are simple and outdated, they are INCREDIBLY clean and well maintained. I am very picky about cleanliness, even more so due to COVID, but the room was spotless and smelled clean. The lobby was just as clean and they take safety precautions very seriously. - the view can’t be beat! On a cliff overlooking the river, really phenomenal. Many of the rooms have balconies or patios that look out over the river. - amenities are great - shared hot tub with a view, picnic tables, laundry, breakfast, conference room space. Cons: - didn’t sleep great. The bed was very soft and uncomfortable. It might not be so bad if you were sleeping alone but for two people in a queen, we rolled into each other and you can feel the springs underneath. - noise - the wind was very loud the night we stayed. Obviously, not the hotel’s fault and it is the price of being on a cliff, but it kept me up. Had the bed been more comfortable, it may not have been as noticeable. We also had some loud neighbors who came loudly into their room around 1:00 am and partied until 3:00. Again, not necessarily the hotels fault but it should be noted the walls are a little thin. Overall, I think this is a clean, simple, well maintained motel. Nothing fancy but for the price, is a great place to stay in Astoria. If they got new beds, I would stay again in a heartbeat and would give 5 stars.
