The room was clean for what it can be. It just felt dirty because of old furniture. With technology as it is now, there were not enough outlets for charging our batteries in phones, camera batteries, etc.. (there were three of us) The breakfast was good, however, not enough seating when very many people are there. The use of the... More

We arrived late in the evening and first impressions suggested this was going to be a poor motel experience. But on entering the room what a pleasant surprise ! A nice large room with a great view over the bridge and river. Great place for a brief stay.

This is an older hotel which is being refurbished. Nearly all rooms have a private deck overlooking the docks and Astoria-Megler Bridge, What a Fantastic view of the bridge. Room is large, has a sitting table w/two stuffed chairs, every room has a private deck w/chairs & table, very quiet. The room has a good sized bathroom w/glass enclosed shower... More

Very, very bad. The place is not safe. "Longterm guests" living there and cooking on a portable grill in the parking lot. The balconies are not safe and place should be condemned. Did not stay after seeing the rooms and asked for our money back.

The rooms inside are lovely with a wonderful view of the Astoria Bridge. Very comfortable bed. Service all around was top notch with friendly and helpful staff. They have some specially themed rooms that looked really unique. The breakfast included was one of the nicest buffets I have seen with a great variety of options. Free DVDs were appreciated. Free... I was looking for just a one night stay at a reasonable price. I will admit that I was hesitant because I normally stay at chain hotels. The rates for the chain hotels were outrageous! I chose here knowing that it was just for 1 night. Check in was a bit disorganized but the front desk gal explained that she... More

This hotel is just the basics. Our room was very clean and had fresh paint, however the rooms are outdated. The man at the front desk let us know new owners took over last September and have been upgrading the inn and bringing things up to code. This is by no means any sort of luxury hotel. The feature of... More

Great location. Value was good. Could have been cleaner and updated but not bad. They lend bikes and there is a great bike path right out the front door which really made out stay. The view out the patio was spectacular of the marina. We enjoyed it and would stay again.

Please do yourself a favor a don't stay here. CONS: *Carpets are disgustingly dirty and stained *The balconies are old and not sturdy; the railings are rusted and have holes *A spider in the bathtub greeted us upon our arrival *We were on the first floor and people were in the room above us-it sounded like they were going to... When I picture waterfront I look forward to sitting out on a balcony and enjoy the water. That was not possible here because the smell of fish was so strong we couldn't open the door wall. It was June and it was warm and their was not air system in the room and no way to open the window. I... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Originally opened as the Red Lion – Thunderbird Motor Inn and later simply as the Red Lion, the Astoria Riverwalk Inn was the town’s first waterfront hotel, established in the late 1960s. The Port of Astoria owns the facility, and in September 2015 contracted with new local ownership to assume and improve the Riverwalk Inn operations. The new ownership group is comprised of seasoned business management professionals with significant experience in commercial property development and hospitality, including the development and initial launch of the award-winning Hotel Elliott in downtown Astoria. With a new operating team in place since September 2015, literally everything is new at the Astoria Riverwalk Inn. From the luxurious Egyptian cotton sheets, redesigned dining area and lobby adorned with local, original artwork; the addition of a continental breakfast; extensive landscaping and general updates throughout (including lots of fresh paint!), guests will gain a sense of renewed care and attention to detail. Other complimentary amenities include a business center just off the lobby, upgraded high-speed Wi-Fi, a DVD library and “Beach Cruiser” bikes for exploring Astoria’s acclaimed four-mile long Riverwalk. We think you’ll find changes to the Astoria Riverwalk Inn create an inviting atmosphere for a restful stay on the waterfront. We hope to see you soon! ... more   less
