My father (senior) and I stayed here here 1 night and he slept perfectly overlooking the quiet marina on the back of the Inn. Beautiful views of the river and bridge - truly waterfront lodging. I have to give the lobby folks huge kudos; gave us free use of their fleet of bicycles to explore locally and a decent DVD... More

This hotel was ok. I would like something a bit nicer for the price we paid, but it was clean and comfortable enough. I agree with the reviews that say it needs to be updated. The loaner bicycles are a nice touch.

We rented 2 rooms while visiting Astoria on a trip through Oregon. It was easy to find, clean and the beds were comfy. The views of the harbor and bridge were nice. It was near the bike/walking trail that was along the harbor and direct to the quaint downtown area.

The marina location is great for people heading out to fish early in the am. But, the hotel needs updating in a big way. Quite a bit of road noise from the bridge too. I would not stay here again. We made a last minute decision to head to Astoria so it was the only room in town.

It was a dilapated and dated room with a view of the water. The mirrors in the bathroom were delaminating, the corners in the room were worn down, the fake vinyl baseboard was coming off the wall. While there is wi-fi, it doesn't work in the room. The TV didn't work either. The room rate (around $140) is WAY overpriced... More

I must have been asleep when I chose this hotel. Obviously, I had no idea about the going rates for motels in Astoria because I assumed we would get something comparable to the chain hotel garden inns or holiday express inns we usually use on road trips for $150/night. That's even a bit more than we usually pay in Portland.... More

This was a great hotel for the price. It is a little outdated but clean. We really liked the location- right on the marina and bike/walk trail. They had free parking and free bikes that we used a lot to get around town. The free breakfast burritos were amazing! I would recommend to my friends and family to stay here... More

I was a bit skeptical when I arrived because it looked like a motel from the front, but the room was HUGE, uniquely decorated, with a balcony that overlooked the water and the harbor. It had a refrigerator, small dining table, large bathroom and ORGANIC toiletries! I never use the toiletries when I travel because they are all full of... More

Staff was very nice and friendly. We had a problem with the toilet over flowing they did fix it but there was urine on the floor for a few hours before someone cleaned it. Decor was old and worn. Semi clean. They did help accommodate our kids with a movie.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Originally opened as the Red Lion – Thunderbird Motor Inn and later simply as the Red Lion, the Astoria Riverwalk Inn was the town’s first waterfront hotel, established in the late 1960s. The Port of Astoria owns the facility, and in September 2015 contracted with new local ownership to assume and improve the Riverwalk Inn operations. The new ownership group is comprised of seasoned business management professionals with significant experience in commercial property development and hospitality, including the development and initial launch of the award-winning Hotel Elliott in downtown Astoria. With a new operating team in place since September 2015, literally everything is new at the Astoria Riverwalk Inn. From the luxurious Egyptian cotton sheets, redesigned dining area and lobby adorned with local, original artwork; the addition of a continental breakfast; extensive landscaping and general updates throughout (including lots of fresh paint!), guests will gain a sense of renewed care and attention to detail. Other complimentary amenities include a business center just off the lobby, upgraded high-speed Wi-Fi, a DVD library and “Beach Cruiser” bikes for exploring Astoria’s acclaimed four-mile long Riverwalk. We think you’ll find changes to the Astoria Riverwalk Inn create an inviting atmosphere for a restful stay on the waterfront. We hope to see you soon! ... more   less
