Travel is difficult during these current times of covid. I found the OMNI Jacksonville far exceeding other properties I have stayed at during the pandemic. The lobby was spotless, hand sanitizing stations sticked, professional front desk staff. The room was immaculate. The TV remote was sanitized, encased and sealed in a bag on the nightstand. Another envelope had two individually wrapped facemark and germ killing wipes in it. We wiped down the surfaces ourselves again but housekeeping had really done a spotless job. All of the other properties I have stayed at during the pandemic were running skeleton staffs, not here. The OMNI was well staffed including Nigh-time Security, a welcome change. The closet had a Robe that was sealed in a garment bag for use. Extremely comfortable Bed and Linens. During my visit Valet Parking was $25 a night or you can park yourself in a Garage or Adjacent Lot. we chose the lot for $12.…
I recently stayed at the Omni for two nights because I was having windows installed in my home. I was also looking for a little relaxation,. From the start, the staff were incredibly great and continued to provide excellent, friendly customer service throughout my stay. I had a room on the 16th floor with an amazing view of the river. The king bed was plush and the linens were so enjoyable. The room came with multiple toiletries, in-room coffee and tea, bathrobes, hairdryer, fridge, etc. The TV was large with good definition. I was disappointed that they did not have the HLN or Oxygen channel, but that's just a personal preference. Due to all of the recent health concerns and hotel/restaurant closures, the Omni only had limited service at one restaurant. I believe it was named the J Bar. The manager, I wish I had gotten her name, was phenomenal! She provided amazing customer service and went out of her way to ensure that they were able to provide me with a (delicious!) vegetarian meal. She was a true gem! This place has an amazing pool with an endless view around of buildings. Close to everything and room was so so nice! Staff could me more friendly.. sometimes during the day the front desk would be without staff. Would be 5 stars if the front desk would have a smile and be more friendly! This place got potential. Would come back.
I was expecting the hotel to be magnificent based on the other reviews on here. It was average at best. Although the lobby is grand, the rooms have not been updated in a good 10 years and it shows. The valet could not even offer me a simple umbrella during a rainstorm. I expected better service from the Omni hotel. I will not be returning.
This was only our second time going to the Omni Hotel and we were not disappointed. The staff was friendly, rooms were clean with a great view and beds were comfy. Only thing that was a bit concerning was the pool area was supposed to be limited to 20 on deck and 6 due to COVID, but that clearly wasn't being followed. Other than that we enjoyed our stay (even though it was for a medical appointment).
