We had a lovely quaint visit while driving through Jacksonville. It was in a great location near wonderful restaurants and the suite was very romantic. We liked the bar and breakfast, great French pressed coffee. Definitely will return.
I like to patronize local businesses over corporate owned entities when I can, and this one is truly a gem. Spectacularly restored home turned B&B, in true turn-of- the-century style. Close to the Moran Center, so I chose this for an overnight stay to see a recent show, and I'm SO glad I did! It's even more beautiful and charming in person. There are thoughtful touches throughout: an honor bar, snacks (even microwave popcorn!) and our suite had a mini fridge, stocked with a la carte priced beverages but had plenty of room to stash sodas and drinks of our own. Staff was welcoming, friendly, and attentive. The highlight of our stay was breakfast, which was perfectly cooked to order and off the hook delicious! No strangers to great food and fine dining, my daughter and I weren't just impressed, we were kind of blown away by how well-prepared and delicious everything was, especially in a setting where you normally expect some pastries or maybe a slice of quiche. Delightful place to stay, and highly recommended!…
This stay made me think “I will never stay in a chain hotel again.” Every bit of the stay was beautiful. I really enjoyed having a laundry machine in my suite— after a few days at the beach, I really needed to run a load! In the morning, I felt totally refreshed with the BEST blueberry pancakes! They were just the right amount of crisp. The staff was kind and helpful from the start of my stay up until checkout. This is such a cute neighborhood to be in, too— I appreciate how much was within walking distance. If I find myself back in Jax, I will absolutely come back to Riverdale!
Wonderful find for a one night business/family trip. Would plan to stay here again for either business or family trip and have recommended to friends already. Very clean and quiet inside and appreciated the breadth of amenities. Appreciated being within walking distance to town, park, and stores. Also approved and highly recommended by our 8 yo daughter who traveled with us this trip.
My husband and I are so pleased to have found the Riverdale. It feels like one's old money grandparents' house with a wonderful, caring private staff. Breakfast was delicious and graciously served. The rooms are comfortably appointed. The front porch with the NY Times and all the birds flying back and forth among the oak trees is really an experience not to be missed. The location is very pleasantly walkable with many great restaurants, the museum, the Garden Club, a movie theater, the green market under the shady bridge, antique stores, boutiques, and historical parks all close by the beautiful wide St. John's River. Also, a 5 minute drive to the beautiful Treaty Oak.
I stayed at the Riverdale Inn for several days in the Margaret's Window room. Room was clean and had a very nice set up. Bathroom was easy to move around in and had plenty of space. Walk-in shower was great size, a bit bigger than what I've seen as standard size walk in showers. Water pressure was also great. Pedal stool sink a bit tiny, but very appropriate for the space and very functional. The room has surround windows which made for great light during the day and shades for dark room at night. Bed and pillows were extremely comfortable. Very easy to check in and out. The Inn is very close to several attractions or places within walking distance. Memorial Park, Cummer Arts, Riverside Arts Market (Saturday's only), the water walk near the Fuller Warren bridge. There is a Publix 2 blocks away as well as a local restaurants, Yoga studio that offer massages. The only minor disappointment was the limited breakfast menu, however there was enough variety to try something new each day. Staff very friendly and the house was quite. My favorite part was the rocking chairs on the front porch. Only recommendation is to add a small table with the rocking chairs for quick rest for a coffee cup. Otherwise I would have spent a longer time rocking and enjoying the morning breeze. Highly recommend staying here and will visit again.…
Wonderful place to stay! Great hospitality, extremely clean and comfortable. Superb service and food. Convenient location for a family stay. Bed and linens were heavenly. Staff was very helpful and pleasant throughout our stay. We stayed at various places on our trip and this was our favorite.
First time at the Riverdale Inn. We came to see a concert at Daily’s Place. Not within walking distance but a short ride. We stayed in the small economy room which was fine for an overnight. The staff is very friendly. We enjoyed a nice breakfast which is included in the stay. There is also an honor bar which is a nice feature. The exterior needs some TLC but was going on at the time of our visit. Definitely would recommend stay here.
I stayed at the Riverdale Inn for several days while on a company trip in Jacksonville. I have never stayed in a bed and breakfast before ... it was absolutely incredible. This property is stunning and it is clear how much care and love the owners (Mary Michael, Eric, and Sydney) have put into it. Every detail is well-thought out and curated to ensure that visitors feel comfortable and a part of history. If you are planning a trip to this area, be sure to reach out! The breakfast is delicious and the rooms are stunning. I would give this stay more than 5 stars if I could!
A lovely late 19th century Victorian mansion, lovingly restored with modern baths while maintaining the charm of the period. The rooms are beautiful and the beds are comfortable. Eric, the proprietor, cooked us a delicious pancake breakfast. It seems a peaceful place and just a short walk to the to the river. My only regret is that we couldn’t stay longer than one night.
