This hotel is nothing like it looks in the photos. The area it is does not feel safe. The first room I had there were stains on the sheets and something in the sink which made me ask for a new room. This one was a little better but still not much. It was very noisy. Shouting or loud talking and people having sex making it seem like a brothel. The complimentary breakfast is q joke. The waffle maker was not in operation. Juices and water were out. If you are happy with a slice of bread or a plain bagel and a coffee, you might like it. Way too expensive for what you get offered. The only good thing for me was the free airport shuttle. Will not stay here again.

It’s a decent 2 star hotel. The property looks like it was formerly a Microtel hotel. The Coastal Queen, was comfortable but smaller than what we expected. We only needed the room for a overnight stay, so I definitely wouldn’t want to stay any longer. Staff was friendly and the room was clean, but dated and worn. They are under new management and were doing renovations

The worst ever experience ever. Asked for a room with 2 beds and was told no changes permitted. The room was 109, I checked in late and weren't straight to bed. I was rudely awaken by pounding and riding materials landing outside my window. Hair was in the fridge, the microwave wasn't cleaned and crumbs all over the coffee tray. Disgusting room, horrible customer service, they should have closed for construction.

Not appealing at all. Dirty from the moment of entry. Sheets dirty, elevator, walls, everything looked as if it needed to be cleaned. Talk about a place that needs some cleaning and updating. We paid in advance amd was refused a refund. So we had to walk on the money to feel safe and clean in a better, cleaner hotel across the street. The location isn't bad.

When booking the hotel I booked 2 rooms for a 1 night stay. During the online booking process I gave my credit card information because the booking that I did stated that payment was to be made in full for a 1 night stay at time of booking. Right away after booking I receive a confirmation stating what my total was, then stated "less deposit amount"(amount that was to be charged, amount "due at Check-In" $0.00. It also stated that "The same credit/debit card that was used to pay for the room at time of booking must be present at check-in. Followed by "Funds for at least the 1st night need to be collected at the time of booking". So with all of that being stated on the confirmation from the hotel would you expect that your card would then be charged at time of booking for your stay?? YES! So we show up for check in only to be told that we have a balance. After traveling hours all day I am now tired and not ready to deal with this. The lady at the desk was kind but honestly seemed very unsure of exactly what she was doing. I proceed to explain to her that this was paid at time of booking. Was told that it was not. Showed my confirmation, and was still told it was not. I should have just went to another nearby hotel at that point. Had to take time to search my credit card history to find out that my card did not appear to be charged. Now is that portion my responsibility(yes it is). However. For them to send out poorly worded confirmations is not at all proper. I definitely feel mislead. Then my receipt from check in stated "Deposit Transfer"? "Charges" $0.00, and" Credits"(amount that I thought was paid at time of booking)? With a "Balance" of negative the amount thought paid? So that alone would also appear as if I had paid the amount due at time of booking. After the lady at the front desk asked for assistance from another staff member with my check in(and I paid at check in) I was just ready to get my room for the night. The quality of the hotel has seemed to go down over the years we have been there. The rooms were okay minus the shower water not coming out well. In the morning we were just ready to leave and get back on the road. Proceeded to the front desk for check out. Of course I was thinking that all I needed to do was return my room key and be on my way....but that was not the case. A different lady at the front desk then told be that I HAD A BALANCE!! Are you kidding me? I just laughed at that point. I told her that their was no way I had a balance. I just went through the ringer at check in about the amount "owed", and was not going to be told again that I owed. The lady at the desk had to call for assistance with the matter. After that call I was told that I was good to go. I feel as if the front desk staff needs more or better training in regards to the processes that take place at the front desk. This stay was such a headache. I will be looking elsewhere when needing to stay in Jacksonville again.

The customer service of the staff was excellent. We ate breakfast there Sunday morning, 8-15-2021 and the staff, Melinda and Robin was awesome! They were so friendly and their customer service skills were excellent. I must add, the staff at the check in desk were terrific as well. We will visit again soon. My husband and I normally stay at Spring Hill Suites but, this will be my hotel of choice.

I have never written a bad review to the best of my recollection. On May 18 I stayed at this hotel. The first so called non smoking room wreaked of smoke and they changed my room. I was unable to bolt the door of the second room, so I, nervously, slept with the light on. At 1:45 AM I rolled over to see two bugs crawling out from underneath the blanket and sheets; I suspect I would not have seen this had I not been sleeping with the light on. I dressed and went to the front desk and asked them to call the shuttle to the airport, where I would proceed to sleep in a chair. The girl at the desk offered me another room. 1) At that hour I wasn't about to start all over in another room, but more to the point, 2) there wasn't a way on earth that I would get into another bed in a hotel that had bugs in my first bed. I asked for a refund. Over the course of the next 6 days I contacted the hotel at three different times, because the manager had not called me back. I finally reached him. Hotel policy states that because she offered me another room and I declined it, they would not give me a refund. He told me that the girl went in to check for bugs and didn't see any. I told them I squashed them with the sheets and could see the blood on the sheets. Did they honestly think I was going to let them just crawl around? And he had the audacity to add that the next person in the room didn't have any bugs in the bed. I said I would hope they had changed the sheets before the next guest arrived. From approximately 2:55 AM until /security at the airport opened I had a wonderful sleep at the airport in a chair and not a bug in sight. And Jacksonville Plaza Hotel has kept my money and their bugs.

There are cockroaches in the rooms, the rooms are dingy and run down, everything feels gross and kind makes your skin crawl once you are past the lobby. Have been disputing the charges as I chose not to stay in the filth. They refused to refund. Extremely nasty place. You’ve been warned.
