Tired of the chains, we decided to stay here. One look inside, we knew we were going to love it. Never seen a room so clean. Very spacious with a separate sink and vanity. Beds made up in a way that you didn't have to re-make when you turned back the cover. Very comfortable and very nice people. Although breakfast was continental, it had quality products, ie, bananas that weren't brown, name brand cereal, fresh doughnuts, great coffee with glass cups, and stainless steel utensils. Family owned with the kind of attention that you would hope for. Love this place!!!
As somewhat handicapped, was unable to stay in a King Bed Room [second floor only & accessible by stairway only], rather, stayed in ground level room w/ 2 beds. Although an older motel, rooms were clean & comfortable. Breakfast was self-serve [cereal; muffins; toast, coffee, juice, etc] fresh tasting and diner area was clean. Location is within minutes to FDR home,Vanderbilt mansion. Val-kil & CIA. When I return to this area again would definitely stay at the Roosevelt Inn.
Friendly reception upon arrival and received a room upstairs as desired. Large king bed room with dresser, closet, table and two chairs, comfy chair with ottoman, a small fridge with mini freezer shelf but no microwave (available in the in-house breakfast cafeteria). A pleasant night with the exception of noise from the fridge and early morning "rush hour" traffic. Breakfast consists of excellent bagels, donuts, cereal, juice and good coffee. A good place to stay when visiting the close-by Roosevelt and Vanderbilt attractions. The price is above the usual motel level, but .... Location, Location, Location.
We stopped in here for a night on our Hudson Valley River tour. The price was great, and we appreciated the harvest decorations already in place and the cute on-site little "coffee shop." If they had a pool, it would have even been a better family choice during the muggy summer months. The room was spacious and nicely remodeled to mid-century motel. This was the first lodging we've encountered this trip that actually had two luggage racks. What a concept! The nightlight in the bathroom was another thoughtful touch. Found the beds a little on the hard side, but not bad. The updating that needs to be done? The air con wall unit was loud and there was a persistent moldy/mildrewy/musty odor that we could never stop smelling. The room was spic and span, so not sure if the carpet is retaining odors or the air system is recycling air through bad filters, but that was the only reason why we would not have stayed another night, if it was an option.…
Stayed one night only and were very impressed with the accommodation. Older style hotel, two levels, parking out front of room on ground level. Room was spotless, towels were thicker than most other places we have stayed.Staff were friendly and accommodating. Breakfast is in a room which is accessed with your room key. It is set out light a small diner. This room was spotlessly cleaned and supplied us with plenty of breakfast items. Well worth the stay.
