We needed a getaway badly and knew that Hyde Park would offer lots of outdoor activities for us. After some research we chose Inn The Woods. The Treetop suite had a wonderful view of the bird sanctuary and windows on 3 wall made it feel like nature was all around us. The suite was more than roomy with an extremely comfortable bed. Harry was so welcoming and prepared great breakfasts. The location is both quite and centrally located. This is now our go to place in Hyde Park.
We enjoyed our stay in this very comfortable and spacious BnB. Particularly given Covid, it was great to have a nice room where we could eat a take out meal as well as space to relax outdoors. The room had very comfortable king sized bed, sitting chairs and small table. The breakfast was excellent , home made with local ingredients and served to us in our room. They provided coffee and tea as well as milk and juice to serve ourselves. The inn keeper was helpful and friendly. I thought this was a good price for the service and accommodation.
This is an Inn unlike any on earth. The peace and tranquil quiet, subtle scent of woods upon the air, and panoramic views of surrounding woods all come together to make for a relaxing, breathtaking, cozy, spacious getaway. The bed was like sleeping on a cloud, and sleep came instantly for me, and I never fall asleep anywhere without taking significant time and effort. That is saying something! Harry could not have been a better host, painstakingly outlining all of the instructions and details of the room, with the most amazing personality and kind warmth of any innkeeper we’ve met. We have been to dozens of Bed and Breakfasts all over the country, and this easily ranks among the best. Inn the Woods is the only place to consider for your needs when looking for a peaceful, quiet, beautiful, romantic, and cozy place to get away from it all, right in Hyde Park NY. We will be back, without question. …
The owners of Inn the Woods are absolutely excellent. They are both very friendly and willing to provide recommendations for things to do in the area and places to eat. The breakfast they made was excellent too. I was impressed at how they put thought into each ingredient they used for the food they prepared. One of my favorite parts of the facility was the fireplace in the common area that you could sit by. I would highly recommend a stay. Would definitely return.
The Inn is right in the middle of Hyde Park, close to all the museums, etc. - but you would never know it once you are settled into the house which is in a small, wooded ravine - very peaceful. Our first floor room was clean and comfortable. You'll have access to the common room and a nice deck overlooking the forest. Valerie, our hostess, has had CIA training and everything for breakfast was delicious. She and her husband make everything from scratch (yogurt, cheese, baked goods, jams, bacon) and use locally grown produce. They even have honey from their own bees! Highly recommend and I would return.
