We wanted to stay a the Wolf Sanctuary but it was booked and they recommended El Morro. As others have said, the cabin was very nice and rustic. The grounds were primitive as should be expected. We did have a little trouble locating the host because we arrived after hours but once found he sent us our cabin brought a... More

I've lived in New Mexico for 17 years and just discovered this place. El Morro RV and Cabins are locally owned and are located along Ice Cave Highway, about an hour from Gallup or Grants, NM. El Morro is the perfect place to retreat from tons of people and social media. With only 4 cabins and the rest RV spaces,... More

I have been thinking about this review for several days as we had a particularly difficult confrontation with one of the owners. There's nothing worse than having a travel problem when you are driving an RV or pulling a trailer, thus, many of us RVers often choose to make reservations ahead of time. We likely have minimal expectations from RV... More

I loved the cabin we stayed in at El Morro & The Ancient Way Cafe was amazingly excellent! It was closed when we got there, open from 9-5, closed on Wednesdays so luckily we had leftovers from the night before. Our cabin had a refrigerator & a microwave. A small tv too with Direct TV. It had heating which was... More

My husband and I are riding our bicycles from Flagstaff to Chicago along Route 66 (as much of it as we can find.) We took the 602 to 53 route so we could get off of HWY 40 and experience the El Morro Cabins. We were set to arrive on their off day, and they put together a fabulous dinner,... More

The place is right off Route 53 and right next to Morro National Monument, which was free to visit by the way. The Ancient Way Cafe had some real friendly staff and they gave me some good tips in visiting the sites in the local area. I now have the info to visit Chaco Canyon on my return visit thanks... Four of us spent a GREAT week December 14-21, 2013 while hunting across the road. Machi and staff were superb. Their friendliness, customer service orientation and professionalism made our week there more than we could have hoped for. We will definitely stop there again. The cabin was far from rustic, and their interest in caring for their guests was amazing.... More

First of all, El Morro National Monument is a hidden gem. It's way off the beaten path, but you'll be rewarded by beautiful countryside, wonderful hiking trails and no crowds. East-west travelers through the centuries have inscribed their names on this huge sandstone mountain in western New Mexico. You'll see graffiti from Spanish explorers going all the way back to... This is the very worse RV campsite EVER ! The reviews on the internet do not tell it as it really is! We had traveled to see El Morro National Monument arriving late in the day & this was the ONLY place for our 30' trailer. At that, they had only 1 space & all the hookups are not located... More

While visiting El Morro National Park on Hwy 53, New Mexico, I asked the ranger where we could eat lunch. He said the closest place is about 1 1/2 miles North of the park. The other way would be in Ramah about 14 miles South. We decided to take a chance. It doesn't look like much and there is seating... More
