I like a hot bath after a long day driving, I called ahead and specifically asked if there was plenty of HOT water. Was assured it was no problem. The place is great looking from the outside and the sign says "newly remodeled rooms". Well, they may have been back in the 60's but they are furnished with shabby, old,... More

I travel by Motorcycle, and look for nice little motels to stay. This one fits my requirements. Good location off Route 66. Great price. Nice owners. Restaurants within walking distance (burgers) Ground floor rooms with parking right outside the rooms (porch parking+) Room was clean, comfortable with everything you would need. Fast internet too. Don't hesitate on this one.

Driving from NM to AZ pulling my Massey Ferguson tractor on a trailer, pulled into this classic Rt66 motel for the easy access and large parking lot. The owner immediately came out and helped guide me into a safe spot. Well lit lot, easy walking to some pretty darned good New Mexican food. Great neon sign. Room was basic but... More

I stopped in just by chance and because the place looked well kept from the outside. I spoke to the owner and got a great rate and then a perfect room for me. Everything worked as it should. The motel was quiet, in a good location and the room was very comfortable. The owner's wife saw me trying to get... More

This is an independently owned motel on 66, the owner has been here since 1994. We always stay when passing through and he will always ( remember us) and save us a room if we need it later. Since the big corporate motels have set up in Grant I guess it must be tough, so try and stay here if... More

Siri found this hotel for me while I was driving and I'm glad. First of all, the man running the place greeted me with a large, warm smile, which made me feel welcome. Check in was easy and the room fee is modest. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. I ran the fan on the A/c all... More

We stayed here one night intending to go to another motel on historic Route 66. This one seemed brighter and perhaps better so we chose Southwest. The night manager was very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and wifi was fine. Bath did not hold water and the ice machine was out of order. But the nostalgia of staying... More

If you're expecting something posh or new, this isn't it. But a clean and welcoming non-chain motel at a great price. In-room 'frige, too. We stayed the night during a fishing trip to nearby Bluewater Lake and it was a great alternative to camping. On the old Rt. 66 across the road from the train tracks (so you'll hear the... More

Looked high and low for reasonable lodging for 4 nights. Most listings in our desired range had mostly low ratings. Additionally, we have had many bad experiences at discount chain motels because of high capacity and paperthin walls. To the point, the South West is a 50's motorcourt motel. The bed was great and the room was very clean, and... More

I booked this hotel because it was near the place on the continental divide where I was meeting a bike rider. The owners were very nice, but the room smelled of vinegar (which is how they clean the rooms) and the bathroom was very small and the lighting in the entire room was poor. On the plus side it was...
