Paul, Laura, Nathan and the staff do an excellent job. All of them love the guests, Angela, Nicki, Kizzy, Monica, Pam, Brittany and all at the front desk are welcoming. The housekeeping and maintenance folks always greet me by name. Just a comfortable friendly place. It is quiet, yet next directly next to the Battlefield. No place closer. You can literally look out and see the Battlefield or walk out and be on it. Did I mention great value? The Breakfast Cottage has full breakfast for you - hot and cold foods alike. And any kind of room you want. You want an exterior coorador - top floor or ground, or interior, king, queen, double beds. I really like how you can select the specific type of room you want.

We have been staying regularly at the hotel twice a year, anniversary and Remembrance. The family that owns this hotel are very nice and good hosts. They try to accommodate you if they possibly can with anything you might need.
The breakfast is grab n go right now. It started last year because of Covid restrictions and now they just don’t have the staff. No daily housekeeping because of lack of staff right now too. We just took our trash out daily and have our dirty towels to who was working in the laundry room and got clean ones. From my understanding every hotel in the area is not doing daily housekeeping for the same reasons. The breakfast is better than what most others are offering right now. The hotel is in a convenient location for restaurants, shops, etc.One building is set aside for people who do not want to be by a rooms with a dog as they are dog friendly. The hotel is older so it’s not perfect, there are scratches etc but it’s clean. Overall it’s a good, solid place to stay

My wife and I made our annual fall visit with friends to Gettysburg and stayed at the Quality Inn Battlefield on Steinwehr Avenue. We have been going for years and always stay there. We love the proximity to the battlefield and to the dining and shopping locations. The rooms are clean and comfortable and we request the second floor facing the battlefield as it’s very quiet and a great view of the battlefield from the balcony. This years trip was quite different due to the COVID conditions, guidelines and social distancing restrictions. The Quality Inn did a great job with adhering to their guidelines while still making our stay enjoyable. Their modified breakfast to-go was still very good and the staff there was helpful and friendly as always. We look forward to staying there again next year and hope for everyone’s sake this pandemic is under control.

Thank you for staying with us annually and for taking the time to write a review. The king rooms that you stay in do have a great view of the battlefield in the morning or night. We did have to make some adjustments due to COVID with cleaning rooms and how breakfast operates. I am glad the staff was always able to help. We look forward to your next visit.

We have stayed at this hotel maybe 30 or 40 times in the past 30 years. It has always been great. They shut down early because of covid and took advantage to do some upgrades to locks and the rooms. The bedding has been changed to a flat light coverlette and a puffy blanket.aI saw the staff syrup the beds completely between guests so all of it gets washed. The staff and management is being careful and thorough to protect us the guests and the staff. This hotel as always is number one choice for us!!!besides that the battlefield is just outside your room

Thank you for being such a loyal guest to us. This year has been an experience. We did make some changes to the property in the recent months and the locks were one that should be a great benefit to the guests. We have been taking extra precautions to keep everyone safe in these uncertain times. See you again soon.

They had one person doing all of the cleaning and it made us feel really bad for him. Breakfast is now in the lobby and its breakfast sandwiches, none of which were meat free(pork specifically), but that was ok, they had banana, blueberry, and chocolate muffins, as well as cereal bars, and juice. There wasn’t much in the way of breakfast, but it was clean, staff was very nice, there was a nice outdoor pool, and easy access to the rooms. We parked our car and toured Gettysburg almost all day prior to going on a ghost hunt. Literally a stones throw away from Pickett’s Charge, which is to the right of the hotel when facing the lobby.

This past year has been very hard on all of our staff with all of the open positions that we have. Thank you for noticing the hard work of the entier Quality Inn staff. We hope to see you again when you return to Gettysburg.

We had a great stay at the Quality Inn Gettysburg Battlefield. It is a chain yes, but it definitely maintains the family owned and run feel. The location is fantastic. The pool is lovely. The beds were comfy and the room nicely sized. This is not a luxury hotel, but if you are looking for a convenient, affordable and nice place to stay while experiencing Gettysburg, I highly recommend. The rooms have a coffee maker, small microwave, and fridge. The bathroom is nicely sized. The following are cons but I am sure due to COVID restrictions: the grab and go breakfast was sad at best (toss in some grab and go Greek yogurt and it improves). The air conditioner is loud but that’s in most hotels. There was no room/cleaning service during our stay but I’m sure this is due to COVID restraints and anything we needed like trash bags and clean towels would have been replaced had I asked. The towels at the pool are more like a hand towel so I recommend taking your own beach towels if you plan to enjoy the lovely pool. The pros far outweigh the cons, we had a great stay for the value, and I would stay again with pleasure. Location, location, location - the location is marvelous.

Thank you for staying with us and taking the time to write a great review. We are one of the few hotels left that are family-owned and operated and the family is in daily. Breakfast was changed due to COVID and staffing along with housekeeping. Right now with staffing issues, we are not cleaning the room daily when you stay over. We are in the process of upgrading the current room towels and are trying to shift the old room towels over to the pool. We hope to see you again.

First let me say we have been coming here for many years. This visit was the first stay here in probably 4 or 5 years. We were told at check in that there are no housekeeping services. If we wanted something, we should contact the front desk. I get needing to cut back, but you don’t have someone to vacuum, change towels, and wipe down the sink and such? The toilet in our room was the lowest toilet I have sat on since elementary school. It was very difficult getting down and up. Lastly, this hotel could use a good freshening up. Painting the rusty white wrought iron and such. The location is great to walk around the souvenir shops, check out the national cemetery, or drive over to the visitor’s center and battlefield. We will go back again, but I hope they start putting some money back into this hotel.

I am sorry that we were not able to provide the experience you were looking for. I am sorry but with a housekeeping staff of 4, we had 15 prior to the pandemic we are not able to service rooms daily. We have management staff helping to housekeep so we can get all of the rooms cleaned for our guests arriving. Our toilets have not changed since the last stay you had with us and are a standard height of 15". Newer toilet are being made at what is called comfort height which is 17". We do plan on replacing on an as needed basis for the new height.

Motel is literally adjacent to the official boundary of the battlefield. Very nice pool. Short walking distance to many eateries and tourist attractions. Motel offers a limited continental breakfast. Jimmy Dean Breakfast sandwiches are good. Orange juice, Apple juice, and Cranberry juice are available. Parking space numbered in accordance to your room. There is no room service during you stay. Numerous soft drink and snack machines and ice machines. Indoor and outdoor pools with towels. Both appeared very clean. The reason I did not give a higher rating is because the motel allows dogs. The property has numerous 2 story buildings and the ‘dog rooms’ appear to be scattered throughout. Dogs were always barking in their rooms when guests are walking around outside. Desk clerk should ask ‘non dog’ guest if they want a room next to a barking dog or a room a dog just vacated. Room next to me had 3 different guests while I was there. 2 did not have a dog, one did. So, you could be assigned a ‘dog room’ without knowing it. ASK when booking. New guest were checked into vacant rooms same day they became vacant. Room does not remain vacant for 24 hours as CDC guidelines suggest.

Thank you for taking the time to write a review for us. You are correct that we do allow dogs at our hotel. I am sorry that there were some around you that were barking. We always ask that those with dogs leave us a cell number so we can call them if we have any problems. With the 4 buildings that we have on property 1 does not take any dogs. If you would like a room away from the possibility of dogs we can book a specific room that never allows the dogs. The CDC guidelines you are referring to were last updated November 20, 2020, and a lot has changed since then. They are still mentioning that everyone should wear a mask, which is now changed.

We were able to walk to almost every restaurant and activity we had planned to go to while in Gettysburg. Breakfast was okay not great, but Friendly’s is right across the street. Easy to get in and out, friendly staff. We had adjoining rooms, if you call to make reservations you are able to request them, also you can get a cot for the room as well.

I have been to Gettysburg 15 times in my life and have stayed at this establishment every single time! The location is perfect: you are within walking distance of Cemetery Hill, Cemetery Ridge, Culps Hill, etc. Being in town, it is centrally located to multiple great dining spots.

The rooms are spacious and the prices are affordable. The continental breakfast is always delicious with a wide variety. The staff is always friendly and accommodating. I can't recommend this hotel enough!
