The hosts at the Brickhouse genuinely care about the guests. Our two night visit was wonderful from beginning to end. A three course plated breakfast each morning on the patio--real china and cloth napkins. Interesting guests to converse with. Comfortable rooms and everything is completely walkable. Rocking chairs on the porch. Behind the Inn is a three mile nature walk through Culp's Hill, with many monuments and bucolic scenes. Gettysburg was a real treat.

We had a lovely and comfortable suite at this top notch bed and breakfast. Tessa and Brian are wonderful hosts. Breakfast on the patio was relaxed and delicious. After being told the Dobbin House (our favorite Gettysburg restaurant) was full for dinner, Tessa worked some magic and got us a reservation. The Brickhouse is conveniently located and there is adequate off street parking.

What a lovely inn - a very intimate atmosphere with lovely owners and friendly people. The rooms were very clean and the bed extremely comfortable. Additionally, plenty of amenities like personalized breakfast, mini fridge, and two TVs were included. To top it all off, the inn is located in a great spot - one can even take a morning jog through the park from this location. I highly recommend the Brickhouse Inn to anyone looking to have an exceptional time in Gettysburg.

We stayed in the Kentucky suite. The room was beautiful - we were very pleased by the cleanliness of the room, as well as the historical implications. Our room also had its own balcony. The owners were great and gave us a lot of info on the house and the Gettysburg area. Late in the evening, as my husband and I were falling asleep, I did hear what sounded like a rocking chair moving somewhere near the sitting room. (It didn't scare me, and I was too tired to investigate, but I found that quite interesting)

Should you choose to stay at the Brickhouse Inn in Gettysburg, make very, very sure that your life is in 100% order. If you should have to cancel a reservation at the last minute you will get absolutely no refund. There is no allowance or forgiveness if any kind of tragedy or life problem causing the cancellation. Yes, even if you have stayed here before, you will be given no consideration for the cancellation and will be charged in full. Just feel that this policy is beyond cruel and unusual punishment. Oh! Yes, you can indeed get "insurance" from them when making that reservation but even that.... read through carefully. Just saying, traveller, BEWARE.

Response from Brian Duncan, Owner at Brickhouse Inn Bed & Breakfast

You cancelled your booking three days before arrival, well within the 14 days of our cancellation policy (which you accepted when booking). You said in your review “absolutely no refund”; that is simply not true. You did not mention that we gave you a partial refund, and also a credit for a future stay (a generous offer on our part). We are a small family business that suffered severe financial losses during the financial epidemic, yet you expect us to absorb additional loss because of your misfortunes.
