Our second time venturing out since the pandemic. The Lodges at Gettysburg was a perfect choice. Nicely appointed clean private lodge. We stayed in the General's Quarters. It had a main room with King Bed, flat screen TV and electric fireplace. There was a second bedroom with a queen bed and its own TV. There was a separate kitchen area with a dining table, small refrigerator, sink and microwave. Plates, glassware mugs and utensils were provided. There is no oven or stove top, but we brought casseroles which we could easily prepare in the microwave. Bath room is well appointed with walk in shower. Nice porch area with Adirondack chairs. Grounds are beautiful and overlook the Eisenhower farm and battlefield and a small lake/pond. Services were limited under current conditions but the staff was friendly and helpful. Perfect especially for older couple (in our 70's) under present conditions, but would be great anytime. Good location. Well away from crowds, but close, 5 to 7 minutes, to the battlefield (we did the auto tour via car CD which you can buy from Amazon with guide book, or at the Visitors Center or download same in app form for cell phone). Highly recommend. Very informative. Property is also close to wineries and a number of very good farm markets which we visited. Good scenic drive area for fall foliage (we visited in late October) including a couple of old covered bridges (Sach's over which the Confederate Army retreated) is only a three minute drive. Property has instituted stringent 21 point cleaning regimen in place in response to the Covid situation in addition to following state and CDC guidelines. We will return.…
We liked everything here. The suite was lovely and very clean and well-maintained. (Please folks, leave a generous tip for the housekeepers.) The best thing here was the staff. I don't think we've been anywhere with a staff this helpful, accommodating, and just plain nice. The manager in the pub (which was very good) came over and talked to us several times when we were there - and he was a hoot! Also, the property was kind enough to give us an upgrade to a queen suite, which was very nice (and appreciated)!
Really enjoyed our stay! We were only in town for one night. We came to visit the battlefields and this place was a convenient close drive. Already planning out next trip. Shout out to Stu for being so helpful and informative during check in.
We loved the hiking and fishing available for the guests, and the grounds are beautiful. We felt very safe in regards to social distancing, as all the lodges have their own entrance and there is no need to walk through any crowded areas or elevators. Just a quick and scenic drive into town!
My wife and I stayed here from September 17 - 19, 2020. We loved staying here and the staff is uber friendly. We bought a package which included a Ghost Hunt with The Gettysburg Paranormal Association which was also fun but we are having an issue with the information we received from the resort and what we were told by the vendor do not match up. I have tried to contact the Gettysburg Paranormal Association several times but they do not return calls or contact me via email. I would recommend you stay away from that group and trying to find another Ghost Hunting company to spend your money at. The resort as a whole is 5 stars and we look forward to more trips to their resort. I give the resort 5 circles but the Ghost Hunting company a solid 0.
