Detailed Reviews
This is our first time at this CG.
The Not So Great: With a 40' Motorhome, we typically reserve the premium sites so we have room for our rig and our towed vehicle. They also often come with a great location and concrete pad. Paid $76 a night for a premium site which upon arriving I thought they had made a mistake. The site was nothing more than just a gravel driveway (which could have been more level), with a firepit that was just a few feet from the next sites sewer connection, and an old picnic table. We had to park the car on the grass in order to fit. 50amp electric but no cable and wifi was very slow. After checking the map, we were on a pull through premium site. The bathhouse was old, it smelled, and was overrun with garbage. Granted there was a large group of tents camping nearby that most likely put strain on the restrooms, but they should be kept clean as this campground seems busy most of the year.
What we liked:
The location cannot be beat. The CG is just a few minutes off the highway and easy to find. **Do not allow Google Maps to bring you in via Baltimore Pike/ Granite School House Road! Lot's of low trees and the road is not designed for a large trailer or motorhome. Take the next exit on Rt 15 North which puts you directly onto Rt 134/Taneytown Road.**
We were able to ride our bikes into the park each day as well as to the visitors center. Both locations are just a 1/2 mile away!
The campground attracted a really nice crowd. It was basically full and everyone was quiet and respectful.
Downtown Gettysburg is less than 10 minutes away.
With some improvements, this CG could be really great. I read that there are new owners and they are investing in a new pool for next year. That type of investment along with improving their facilities and their site layouts/designations, will all be welcome improvements. That said, we would stay here again because of its location.

We recently stayed at Artillery Ridge Campground and we loved it. We loved it so much that we booked two more weekends for this year yet. The staff there is so pleasant and help out in any way they can. Even with the world we are living in right now with this virus they still managed to make sure that guests had activities they could do and kept the facilities very nice and clean.

We bought our first popup 1 week before Pa. went into lockdown due to COVID-19. Campgrounds open May 1st so we made our first trip here only 15 miles from our home. What a great time to breathe in the fresh air from being indoors for 6 weeks. Even though many of the activities were canceled it was still wonderful to just relax in front of a fire and walk around freely! Most importantly this was the only campground we could find that had open bathhouses, that were kept very clean, as you could see the cleaning schedule. Popup owners need bathhouses! 😁 Glenda was very nice and pleasant to talk too! The overall campground was kept very clean and the fishing was fun!! 🎣

This campground came highly recommended so it’s possible that I set my expectations a bit high, I gave 4 stars but was considering 3 🤷♂️
I stayed in the 400 loop area, which was nice as the sites are a bit larger than the area by the entrance. That portion of the campground was tight, RVs parked on top of each other. The 400 area is a bit chaotic how it’s laid out. Numerous sites all converge on this awkward loop/road in the center. Our rig isn’t too terribly large (36’) but there isn’t room to park your tow vehicle at the site, we had to park in the grass near the site. I could see it being difficult to pull out of the site if surrounding campers parked towards the front of their sites. It’s also the first site that I ever had where the sewer pipe didn’t have threads to screw the “donut” connector. It just kind of dropped into the hole so you have to keep a foot on it while we emptied the tanks.
This campground is quaint for its size, campers were all very quiet and friendly. The sporadic neighs from horses in the park were fun to hear. The proximity to all of the Gettysburg Battlefield monuments is amazing. From the time you leave the park, it’s literally 30 seconds until you’re in the boundaries of the National Park.

Loved the camping. This campground is unique in that we were able to bring our horses. Stalls and turnouts were well maintained and other guest seemed to enjoy seeing our horses. Will definitely be back as long as we can bring our horses.

The people and services at Artillery Ridge Campground were awesome. We stayed in a great cabin that sleeps 4, with air condition, eat-in small kitchen and bathroom. At check-in everyone wore masks. Our complimentary firewood, smores welcome package and key were outside. It took a while for the wood to catch fire (BRING MATCHES). Since it was dark when we started the fire, the only glitch was we couldn't find long sticks for the marshmallows so we used a very short one. In the morning we noticed marshmallow forks under the porch of the cabin next to ours. Apparently at some point the neighbors had borrowed our forks and forgot to return them. The stables was fine with a round pen and large corral to warmup in. We had a wonder times riding the well marked trails. The National Riding Stables in net to the property. You can rent horses for a guided tour, they recommend making reservations at least 2 weeks in advance.

Cabins have no blankets, sheets, pillows or towels and they didn’t tell us that at booking.

We checked in 11-4-2020 and found the cabin to be dirty and have no amenities. The owner was contacted and offered us 2 small blankets and a beach towel from their camp store. Because we were traveling with horses we ended up going to Walmart and purchasing 2 sleeping bags, 2 pillows, a sheet set and a towel to be able to spend the night. This was $50 on top of the $129 for the cabin and $20 for each horse for a small muddy paddock.

Thank you for your review. I apologize that your stay did not meet your needs. Our website does state that guests are required to bring linens for cabin rentals. We will review with the booking team to be sure everyone remembers to remind guests of this very important notice. We are investing in new mattresses for all of the cabins as part of our renovation process for the 2021 season. We will also be adding a new pool, mini golf course, outdoor fireplace with seating, updated restrooms and more general maintenance. I hope you will consider giving us another try. It would be our pleasure to host you again!

Went there with a group. GPS location was accurate. Sites are gravel but only minimal leveling was needed. No problems with pull-thru site, water, electric and sewer were easy to reach. 50 amp was available but not required for my rig. Stayed there is a 30ft class C motorhome, but some neighbors had full size class A and 5th wheels, no problems maneuvering. Camp store was well stocked, restroom was very clean. Close to Gettysburg attractions. About 2 miles to Gettysburg center

Proximity to the battle field and town is the selling point of this campground. There is a horse path that originates at the entrance of the campground and ends on the battle field. Makes for a real convenient way to hike or bike the battle field. It appears the campground is undergoing renovations. Most sites have a new coating of gravel with a new picnic table. We had a "premium" pull through site ..... not sure what made it premium other than my camper and truck fit on the site. Most of the sites are very tight and close to your neighbor.

Thank you for your visit! We are trying to get away from the "premium" term even as we update our campground and sites. Our renovations should be complete towards the end of the 2021 camping season. We hope you will join us again next year to enjoy the new amenities!

About a mile or so bit a very relaxing walk. Like before I would recommend taking one of the horse tours or a bicycle tour. We did the tour by bike three times on our last visit.
Yes they have full hook ups. There were a lot of large units at the park when we were there.
Seriously.... 1 hour for that huge campground?! Insane
