After isolating for 3 months, my husband & I were desperate for a get-away, yet not looking to be in the midst of crowds of people. We are walkers & since Gettsburg battlefields are such a meaningful place to tour,we wanted to stay close to the Battlefields while still being within walking distance to the downtown attractions. We found Keystone Inn and it is a gem!It is located on the edge of the Battlefield & a short walk into town. Our room was spacious & super cozy & tastefully decorated, also with the bonus of a little outdoor balcony. The King bed also gave us a super comfortable 4 nights of sleep.
Breakfast each morning was such a treat! The proprietor Mike; served us fruit,a pastry & an entree. Whether it was coffee cake, pancakes or frittata,(or the brownies that were left for us each night) Mike prepared all from scratch! Also- since this was our first attempt with travel since before the pandemic,we were quite nervous about the level of disinfectant procedures wherever we went. We were quite relieved to see quite a high level of cleanliness throughout,as well as hand sanitizers & wipes placed in various locations in the home for guest use.
We highly recommend Keystone Inn & We will be back!!

We recently stayed for 2 nights in the General Ewell Room. This 2nd floor room was spacious with a comfortable king bed, a small couch as well a refrigerator and electric fireplace. The inn is located in a very nice old home with ample off street parking in back. The Culps Hill battlefield is just behind the Inn. The Gettysburg town square with many restaurants and shops is an easy 10 minute walk. Gettysburg was having their annual Christmas Festival and we enjoyed the Tuba Christmas Concert in the square on one evening. Leah, the Innkeeper, texted on the day of arrival to confirm our arrival time and check on any special dietary requirements. She then greeted us at the door and gave us a tour of the Inn. There is small library on the second floor full of Gettysburg history info. The breakfast was fabulous and available at 3 different seating times. We particularly enjoyed the warm homemade cookies when we returned from a full day of touring the battlefields. The only thing I would suggest for a future visit would be to request a room not facing the street since there was road noise starting early in the morning.

My sisters, brother, and I arranged a trip to Gettysburg as a sibling reunion. We stayed for three nights at the Keystone Inn. From start to finish it was a great experience. Leah, the Innkeeper, was such a help from the moment I contacted her about the reunion and the need for four rooms. We were given the four rooms on the second floor. Each room was clean and well furnished. In fact, the entire Bed and Breakfast was clean, bright, and interesting. There is a welcoming parlor on the first floor and a library with books, DVDs, and games on the second floor. The library included materials for children as well as adults.

Leah and Michelle were there to greet us each morning. Breakfast was inviting and delicious--with a variety of foods and attention to dietary needs. What a nice way to start the day! We also loved the cookies, individually wrapped on plates with our names, that were available each afternoon. The location of the Inn was excellent, just a few blocks from Lincoln Square. We could walk to restaurants and the battlefield was just a short drive away. Culp Hill was also within walking distance with its trails and monuments. Leah was very helpful with tips about restaurants and other Gettysburg attractions.

We highly recommend the Keystone Inn to anyone traveling to the Gettysburg area seeking a comfortable, clean, and welcoming place to stay. You will not be disappointed. In fact, my husband and I plan to return this summer for a guided tour of the battlefield.

We book a reservation at The Keystone for our return trip, after dropping off our daughter at Bucknell. The Bucknell Adventure lasted hours long than we expected and we call the innkeepers, Christine and Jordan to ask what time is the latest we could check in since we weren't going to arrive until after 11pm. They said they would wait up for us until we arrived and were settled in. Once we arrived, around midnight, they were waiting in the front room, escorted us to our room where we had late night snacks and gave us the run down. You couldn't have asked for any warmer people who went out of their way to make us feel comfortable that late at night. The two nights we spent there were phenomenal. They gave us the low down on the battlefield, recommend that we get a personal battlefield guide, what restaurants to visit, attractions to see, and the breakfast was to die for. We met the new owners during that visit and they are phenomenal people.
In mid September we decided to pay a "monthly" visit to our daughter and once again, decided to go with the Keystone Inn. Once again, we were not disappointed. Greeted by name, a welcome back note in the room with cookies and more great history discussions with Jordan, along with great food from Christine. This inn is our regular home away from home when heading to Bucknell.
STAY HERE!!! YOU WON'T BE DISAPPOINTED!!!

Mark, you are so very kind! Thank you for your beautiful words. We were happy to warmly accommodate the two of you after your difficult day that first visit, and *boy* was it wonderful to see you again when you returned for a second stay! We're honored to host such genuinely kind guests here at the inn. We simply love having you; we think you know we could sit and talk (about the Battlefield or otherwise!) all night or all morning long. Thank you also for your note about our owners; we think they're pretty swell, too. :-) They also have greatly enjoyed getting a chance to meet and talk with you guys throughout your stays with us. PS we've slightly changed up the cookie for the fall (a warmer holiday spice kind of cookie, but with the same texture and underlying flavor!); we hope you'll stop by to have some! 'Til next time, friends. -- Christine and Jordan

We arrived on a Thursday night and had Christine and Jordan all to ourselves for the early morning breakfast time. How fortunate this turned out for us!! This was our first time in Gettysburg, and they helped us craft an immersive and memorable experience. In addition to a printed list of "Innkeeper's Gettysburg Picks" in our room, they were a wealth of information that morning! They recommended a tour of the battlefield with a licensed guide. We had not arranged for this prior to coming, and so were concerned we might be too late. They promptly provided us with contact information for several guides that other guests highly recommended. We booked a 3 hour tour for the following day with a fantastic guide.
Breakfasts each morning were a highlight of our trip! My husband is allergic to egg white, so you can imagine this makes the breakfast meal more of a challenge. Christine orchestrated meals that were delicious, unique, satisfying, and even healthy (who knew healthy could be so good??)! We enjoyed locally sourced produce, dairy, and bacon as well as superb coffee, roasted that week at a local coffee shop.
On our last day in Gettysburg, we tried to take in as much as possible before making the drive home. We spent several hours on the self-guided battlefield tour and still weren't hungry by 3pm! We snacked on a couple of Christine's yummy and filling cookies left over from the evening before and started our trip back, deeply satisfied with our brief getaway trip.
Our room was immaculately clean and quite cozy. The bed and pillows decadently comfortable. Many special touches attest to the genuine hospitality of the owners and innkeepers!

Thank you kindly for your thoughtful review! Please know that we enjoyed that breakfast-time opportunity to connect just as much as you two did. As Jordan noted to you guys, it was rewarding to be able to help you create a memorable experience here in this town we adore. We were grateful to have such curious (and courteous!) guests to spend time talking with. We are beyond delighted that you were able to book that tour and that you enjoyed it so very fully. :-) And boy are we glad to hear how much you enjoyed breakfast! We're fortunate to have a wealth of local, high-quality farms and farmers (with family histories that date back to before the Civil War!) who help us create a well-rounded, deeply nourishing Adams County culinary experience for our guests. The simple trick to "healthy" eating being able to taste so good lies in building relationships with local farmers and making their products the stars of the show! From our perspective, health is really about going back to the basics and sourcing food as close to its point of origin as possible, without a bunch of refining, filler-adding, and preserving for cross-country shipping. We are so very happy to hear that this food philosophy struck a pleasant chord with you. And, on the coffee front, we have come to feel that it's difficult to challenge the quality of those freshly artisan-roasted beans from The Ugly Mug Cafe. Their organic beans (while not from local farms, as coffee plants don't do too well in this climate) are sourced thoughtfully, with sustainability and human welfare in mind. We're so glad you loved it! We are also warmed to hear how suitable you found your room to be. We do indeed aim for your experience here with us to be one of rejuvenation, coziness, and ease. Thank you again for choosing to spend your time in Gettysburg here with us at The Keystone Inn. We appreciate you! -- Christine and Jordan

When we arrived we were surprised that it was under new ownership. And actually very sad. We have been going there twice a year for many years and very much liked the owners. The changes we did not like are really due to COVID and not the new owners. For example, being able to get self serve coffee and tea even before your breakfast time. When we mentioned that, they were very accommodating and had a cup ready for my husband when he requested in the morning. The new innkeepers, Christine and Jordan could not have been more welcoming. They made us feel very at ease and we felt very comfortable. They are doing a great job!!

Thank you kindly for your review. We know and quite genuinely understand that it was surprising to you both when you arrived to an old favorite to find there was so much that was different about it (of course, including the people inside, but hopefully without any charm lost!). We appreciate the kindness you showed us throughout your stay, and of course the chance to gain valuable insight from your expertise. We are so glad to hear you felt comfortable and enjoyed your time with us, and we look forward to hosting you again in the future. My husband, young daughter, and I recently stayed at the Keystone Inn B&B. We had a really wonderful experience. The inn itself was beautiful, the room we stayed in was perfect for our needs, and the location was central.

I need to mention that Leah, the innkeeper was beyond accommodating. She was our point of contact throughout the weekend and she really went above and beyond caring for us and making sure that we had everything we needed. My daughter has a pretty severe egg allergy, and Leah went so far as to make her safe breakfast and afternoon cookies.

I would definitely recommend a stay here and we will certainly be back.

We visited Gettysburg last week and stayed in the Keystone Inn Bed and Breakfast. This place was absolutely wonderful! Leah, the Innkeeper, was amazing. She called the morning we arrived to check on our ETA and gave us the information on parking, etc. The common rooms were decorated beautifully. Our bedrooms were comfortable and well appointed. We loved the fresh cookies every afternoon--a different flavor each day. Leah knew all of our names within a minute of arriving and learned any requests immediately to keep track of them every day of our stay (such as, we requested a bucket of ice each afternoon). When she found out that I liked to walk every day, she told me about the nearby entrance to the battlefield that had a wonderful historic walk through the woods and fields. Breakfast was delicious, and she was happy to make changes to suit our tastes. My husband doesn't care for omelets, so she gladly fixed perfect soft scrambled eggs for him, instead, Sitting on the large front porch for morning coffee or afternoon cocktails was extremely enjoyable.
If we return to Gettysburg, we will definitely stay at the Keystone Inn Bed and Breakfast again.

This place is special. The Inn is beautifully preserved and restored with modern amenities that don’t take away from the overall style of the property. The design is perfectly done, tasteful and true to period, while maintaining a peaceful ambiance. Every detail is perfectly managed, and along with an amazing, comfortable environment, the Innkeeper and staff provide the utmost attention to the needs of each guest. A true testament to service excellence among today’s commoditized hospitality offerings. Highly recommend!

My mom and I stayed at the Keystone Inn earlier this week and It was perfect! We stayed on the 3rd floor . Leah was very sweet at check in and she was just a quick text away if we needed anything . Michelle was with us for breakfast each morning and had everything set up when we came down each morning . I loved being able to run down in the early morning and grab a cup of tea at my leisure.

Neither of us had been to Gettysburg but we so enjoyed and highly recommend Upper Crust for dinner and LuLus Ice cream for dessert .

I stayed there with my father in early March of this year for three nights in the middle of the week. My father made the reservation about a month ahead of time. The first night we were the only guests there. A couple checked in the second day, also for a three night stay. Two brothers checked in the third day for a two night stay. In other words, it wasn't busy when I was there. It is a nice place to stay.

We didn't use a tour provider on our stay - just explored independently - but the Visitor's information Center on Steinwehr ph # (717) 334-0035 might have more information regarding tours. Have a great visit!
