Great food and historic atmosphere. The pumpkin fritters are amazing. Reasonably priced fine dinning. You should make reservations ahead of time to ensure seating. Our waitress, Victoria, was wonderful and attentive.

Everyone we encountered was very nice and helpful. We had dinner in The Sweeney Tavern and our waitress Heidi was great. That evening we did the Mourning Theater tour with Morgan and she was very nice and you can tell she has such a passion for history and storytelling. We stayed in the Custer Room which we found to be... More

The grounds of this beautiful place are spectacular. Sadly the service was inferior and the place smelled like cigars and looked a bit dirty. The servers and other employees disappeared when needed. And we saw and heard them chatting with each other with some racy language. The food was okay but nothing to write home about. Maybe next time we... More

Had a late lunch here at Sweeney Tavern before starting a tour of the Gettysburg battlefield. Ordered a slippery chicken pot pie and a local cider, and everything came out as expected. The inn has a reputation for being haunted, hence its iconic status in town. But I wouldn't go out of my way to eat here. Having said that,... More

We made reservations in April for our August dinner. The menu is short on selections. There are two kinds of pot pie, regular or game. One each, seafood, steak, pork chop, ham, vegetarian. The food was cooked to order. It was hot when it arrived. It was tasty. The atmosphere was nice.

Spent the night at Farnsworth House Inn. Our party rented three rooms: Sarah Black, The Sweeney Room and Jennie Wade. The first two rooms were in the original building, while Jennie Wade is in the courtyard. All three rooms were charming and clean. We enjoyed tours of the attic and cellar, both tours were informative and engaging. We didn't experience... More

I visited the Farnsworth House yesterday as a driver on a charter to the Gettysburg Battlefield. Our first stop was at the Farnsworth House for a description of the day of a soldier during the Civil War. The gentleman giving the lecture was Buddy and was very knowledgeable in this field and took the the time to answer all my... More

My 12 year old son and I took an impromptu trip to Gettysburg for ghost hunts and while we only stayed for one night, we chose this place because it offered some tours and the grounds looked really cool. Wasn't disappointed in any way. The bed was a little hard but the room was really decked out to meet the... More

We stopped in to the tavern at the Farnsworth House on our recent trip to Gettysburg, basically to see if anything had changed for the better. It was 5pm on a Tuesday afternoon and on entering the bar we immediately detected the scent of a lit cigar. Upon inquiring with the bartender, we found out it was the owner's cigar... More
