Detailed Reviews
We’ve stayed at the Wilshire from Dec25-31. It’s a great hotel. Very clean. Good staff. The only reasons I’m giving 4 stars is because they must improve their WiFi. It’s very unstable. And the room service. We tried twice to get room service provided by Grill350, but both times they were unavailable. Once because their were closed on the 25th and because they were having a private party on the 30th. Now, if you announce you have room service available, one would believe they should still provide the service when needed.
Other than those, it’s a good hotel option in the region.

I found this hotel after finding out that my favorite place to stay wasn’t available. The hotel is clean and the staff are very friendly and helpful. The downside is that this is a wedding venue, and the wedding guests can be very noisy and inconsiderate late at night. Although the hotel boasts a manager’s gathering Monday-Thursday, this apparently hasn’t been held in a “few years” according to one of the sales people. Also, the hot buffet shown in pictures (scrambled eggs, breakfast potatoes) is only held on weekends when there is a wedding. The regular buffet has microwave egg sandwiches, cold cereal, muffins (the latter 2 weren’t available every day) juice, and coffee. The lady in charge of the breakfast room had the unpleasant habit of cleaning the tables (beginning at 9:30, when breakfast ends) while people were still eating. The smell of the chemicals being sprayed was off-putting. Although one can discuss housekeeping with the front desk, I found that talking to the staff directly (speaking Spanish came in handy) was more effective.

I have stayed here many times over the years. Recently, however, in spite of mash requirements from Trenton, no one on the staff was wearing a mask. They make a big deal out of their Guest Safety Unit, wiping down surfaces, etc. but I didn't see anyone doing that when I was there. If you are nervous about being at a business that seems to be ignoring common safety rules, stay elsewhere as you will not be comfortable here.

We stayed at the Wilshire (first time visit) and were pleasantly surprised by how nice the rooms were and how complete the breakfastas was as well. We were very satisfied with the facilities and ambience of this independent hotel ..friendly staff as well!

My husband and I traveled for a wedding. We were assured that a King Room would be available if we booked with them directly. We booked three months in advance only to be met by a rude and condescending Kwaku who identified as a manger that “the room was not available” because “they sell out on weekends.” That would be why we booked three months ahead! The owner never picks up the phone and neither do Upper Management for group sales or the hotel. This is far from luxury and severely lacking in customer service. Don’t waste your time or money.

Booked this hotel through Trip.com less than 24 hours ago. Wedding party asked me to book my stay through their site for less money. Contacted Trip.com who informed me that my booking is nonrefundable so I must pay full price regardless of what I decide to do. I think Trip Advisor should make every effort to inform people that this is the case before they book. I did not see any indication of this policy anywhere. Very disappointing.

We checked in on a Tuesday night, and the check-in process was quick & easy.
Our room was located on the second floor, right across from the elevator, so we had some noise/traffic outside our room that night.
The room was sufficient, though small for three people (kid and two adults). It was clean, plenty of light, but small pillows for two queen beds, and only one extra blanket.
Breakfast was adequate (pastries, cereal, eggs, sausage, fruit), and machine hot chocolate/milk/coffee/tea was available.
At about 8:30am, the fire alarm went off, and we evacuated. About five minutes later, the fire department arrived; yet, you could not tell anyone was concerned as most guests and ALL staff remain inside, with no information. After 5-10 more minutes, the alarms were turned off and we were told we could come back into the hotel. Very disappointing that there was no one trying to get people out of hotel and no staff out of hotel (poor role modeling).
Probably would look to stay elsewhere in area in future...

Just recently stayed here, and was disappointed. The facility is older and somewhat dated, and could use some updates. The room was clean, shower door did not close properly and the shower valve was in much needed repair. The breakfast was no better than a cheap low budget motel. The eggs and sausage were prepared offsite, the pastries terrible, and one fruit choice (banana). Anything liquid was dispensed from a machine. The coffee was no better than muddy water, that came out of a large machine, as well as the milk and cream. Thankfully, Dunkin was a few blocks away, and many people were going there as well. For the price they should have onsite prepared breakfast with fresh coffee and juices. Other than the fact this place was convenient for the event we were attending which was on site, I would never stay at the Wilshire Grand again.

We selected this hotel to stay at following a wedding nearby. This was so awful we wished we had driven back to Philadelphia at night. The room clerk kept us waiting, while he decided how to book someone for a suite. The room was freezing with no way to heat it, something the room clerk may have intimated. The room was outdated, and the bed dreadful. The room could have used repainting, but this would still not have made this into a comfortable hotel room. As to breakfast, the fire alarm went off, and this was a final blow.
This place cannot be recommended, and there are no redeeming features. This may have been one of the worst placed we have stayed in many years.

We attended a wedding at this hotel and stayed over night. We arrived early and the rooms were ready. There was a big size bed, which we requested. The room was large with a sofa bed , desk, chair, tv, microwave oven, coffee maker and a mini refrigerator. The room was clean, they provided free WiFi and free parking.
I highly recommend this hotel.
