Clean, comfortable, and relaxing hotel stay. Stayed with my 17-year-old son and attended the Devils versus Winnipeg Jets game. The updated room was all that we could’ve asked for. There was also a sitting area with a fireplace in the lobby. The breakfast had a good variety and was delicious. But the best part was how helpful the staff was. Kwaku and the rest of the staff went beyond the call of duty!
Wonderful place to stay super clean inviting lobby and great room. Clean super comfy bed and pillows loved that the room was so well equipped with frig microwave coffee machine iron hairdryer plenty of towels toiletries great heat in the room , could not have asked for a better stay so convenient and clean will stay there again
We checked in on a Tuesday night, and the check-in process was quick & easy. Our room was located on the second floor, right across from the elevator, so we had some noise/traffic outside our room that night. The room was sufficient, though small for three people (kid and two adults). It was clean, plenty of light, but small pillows for two queen beds, and only one extra blanket. Breakfast was adequate (pastries, cereal, eggs, sausage, fruit), and machine hot chocolate/milk/coffee/tea was available. At about 8:30am, the fire alarm went off, and we evacuated. About five minutes later, the fire department arrived; yet, you could not tell anyone was concerned as most guests and ALL staff remain inside, with no information. After 5-10 more minutes, the alarms were turned off and we were told we could come back into the hotel. Very disappointing that there was no one trying to get people out of hotel and no staff out of hotel (poor role modeling). Probably would look to stay elsewhere in area in future...…
Stayed for business -OWNER PLEASE READ!!!--- badly needs a makeover- got stuck in the 1990;s-- tv didn't work --they said due to Dish TV doesn't like rain--it wasn't even raining!-- wtf--- i have major issue with no tv in a hotel room----wifi was spotty--- knob on shower didnt work-- second deadbolt on door did not work --old and loose--toilet running all night------made me feel very uncomfortable--- couch in room old and stained--the plus is a nice staff though --decent free breakfast--- way way way over priced
I am staying at the Wilshire Grand for business. The lobby is nice and the rooms are decent size and clean. There are exposed extension cords plugging in my mini fridge and the couch has a few tears in it. My key card didn't work in my room so they gave me a physical key (never had that happen before). The workout area has a lot to be desired. 4 out of 5 of the pieces of cardio equipment are not working. They have 5 sets of dumbells and one bench. My room has a TV but no television channels work only the pay for on demand programming?!? There is free WIFI, that's a plus. Seems like this hotel may need a little TLC!!!
The hotel was clean. The bed in my room was very comfortable. Breakfast was decent. The lobby was sweltering hot. I felt terrible for the people at the front desk. In order to lock the bolt on my room's door, I had to lift the door up, because it wasn't aligned properly. Also, the bathroom door was really hard to open.
I have stayed here twice before, with fond memories. It was still quote nice but a lot of stuff is going downhill. a) Rooms not available until 7 hours after advertised check-in for other members of our party, and for two hours for us. Waiting until 9:30pm for a paid for room is not acceptable room. b) Several minor defects in room (bathroom door did not close fully, light switch broken in half with wiring visible, basin plug did not fully close so not possible to retain water for more than a few seconds). c) A hotel that wants to appear upmarket hosts wild parties in its own grill which go on until 3am keeping everyone awake. Night staff at desk have a no-care attitude (I was told to contact the police if I wished). Staff claimed not to know the phone numbers of management staff - this turned out to be a lie when these staff appeared.…
Pretty awful…we paid for a suite for my brothers wedding (held at a different venue thank goodness). The shower didn’t work correctly. We notified the front desk (had to do it in person since the phone in the room was also broken) and they said they would fix it. We had issues with it for the two nights we were there. We struggled to get it on each time and we could never turn it off so we let it run. Half the outlets didn’t work. Majorly outdated rooms. For the amount I was charged this was a MAJOR disappointment. Would never stay here again. I will say the staff was very friendly. Only pro I can think of with the awful room.
Awful hotel. Room was not ready on time for check in. Very noisy - all sound in the corridor is heard inside the room, the plumbing is heard all night long. TV doesn't work. No clock in the room. Mediocre breakfast.
Great stay, great location in West Orange, easy to get anywhere including NYC. Highly recommend. We had a block of rooms for an event, no complaints that I know of from any of our friends/family. And they have a shuttle.
