This hotel gave us a wonderful, luxury experience at a reasonable price for New Jersey. It was new, updated, and had many modern conveniences. There was a tiled walk-in shower and no tub - truly for adults - sliding glass door. The lighting was extraordinary, with an embedded light control on the bathroom mirror - including a night light for the bath. The bathroom lights could be put on motion sensing. There was mood lighting above and under the bed. The linens were excellent and the whole place was clean. There was a desk and desk chair, also a small laptop desk for the couch. The shades did a great job of blocking all light at night. We were with walking distance of Panera and TGI Friday's. Our only complaints were that the window view was of a roof, and the bill showed we we originally charged for three rooms - they corrected that immediately

We stayed two nights (Oct 2-3, 2021) at the West Orange Cambria Hotel. Pluses: it is an attractive hotel in a convenient location. The minuses: No grab bars in the shower. Two other guests told us that they had the same problem with their rooms, one of which was a suite and the other of which had a shower-tub. That’s dangerous for guests over 50 and inexcusable. Though their restaurant and bar were closed (due to Covid, they said), they promised coffee and hot water for tea in the morning. On Sunday, there were two urns put out. Neither was labeled, and both had hot water. The desk clerk said, “oh, we ran out of coffee. I called to order some.” (But coffee never appeared.) On Monday there were two urns, one with hot water, the other with coffee. I’m not a decaf drinker, but surely a third urn with decaf would have been a reasonable expectation, no? Again, no labels to tell you which one had the hot water and which one had the coffee. Our room had just one drinking glass. When I asked whether we could get another glass (my wife and I are close, but we do use separate classes for brushing our teeth!), they said they would try to get us one. In the meantime, they gave me several paper cups to use. The 2nd glass never arrived. How crazy is that? Meanwhile, friends in another room told us that the body wash dispenser in their bathroom was empty. There was no zapper for the TV in our room. Since we weren’t watching tv, this wasn’t a problem. I did mention it to the clerk at check out.

You know you're in trouble when the welcome mat at the front door is covered with dirt and leaves. The check in should have been a clue that the staff at this hotel were quite disinterested in pleasing their guests. At registration, one of the employees was wandering around saying how "bored he was." We switched rooms after we were given our first room as this hotel is practically on the highway. Our second room at first glance appeared ok. Upon further inspection and after staying the first night, I realized how dirty everything was. The couch had disgusting stains as did the carpet. No one had dusted or vacuumed. The rug was filthy. As in there was hair on the bedroom floor as well as the bathroom floor. We received an email explaining that housekeeping doesn't typically come unless you request it. We requested that they come. And explained that our room was very dirty. No one came. When we checked out we told the front desk person how disappointing our experience was and he said a manager would be in touch. That hasn't happened. There are other hotels in this area. Find out first if they have a housekeeping staff!

I made a reservation for 4 nights. They maeeme break into 2. 2 night. Reservations. Then tried to tell me I had to change rooms. F that. Housekeeping never came in 4 days. Front desk has no answers. Plus, a hotel like this should have a free breakfast. Avoid if you can.

We stopped here on our way to NYC and were impressed with the friendly staff, the comfort of the rooms and the overall cleanliness. Located close to the highway with a few restaurants and a nice grocery store nearby. It met our needs for a convenient layover.
