Wow. It's amazing this historic 1796 gem still exists. It was amazingly renovated and so taken care of. In a perfect location for visiting much of Philadelphia's historic sites- it's also across from the famous replicated City Tavern. The Host was incredible and helped us with dinner reservations and wine! Stay in the Thomas Bond Jr. Suite. Just beautiful!

A perfect spot to enjoy Philadelphia. Beautifully appointed rooms with historical details. The staff is welcoming and wonderful. Innkeeper Chrissy is a gem: charged with energy and personality but more than that a fabulous breakfast!

First, you enjoy lodging and breakfast in the home of Thomas Bond, a good friend of Dr. Franklin and leading figure in the medical community of colonial Philadelphia. While the home is now encircled by some modern structures, there are enough 18th century buildings in the area to give the flavor of the time; in fact, City Tavern, where Washington... More

Hi, Sanford! I loved having you and Marsha here. Thank you for this amazing review. I just pulled my vegetable breakfast pie out of the oven for breakfast today, with a side of brown sugar baked ham. The House smells good :) I look forward to seeing you both again (maybe for one of the firework occasions), and thank you... More

This was a perfect place to spend a week-end in Philadelphia. The B & B is extremely convenient, within easy walking distance to all the historical sites and many great restaurants. The inn itself is a beautifully restored home from the 1700s, and most importantly the terrific staff, innkeeper Chrissie and her excellent assistant Mayisha made the B&B special. They... More

We had already had a wonderful two night stay at the Thomas Bond house when a blizzard arrived and we were snowed in to the City of Brotherly Love for two more nights. It was a good thing we had such a fine place to stay and that the innkeeper was able to accommodate us for two more nights! (The... More

Hi, Steven. Thank you and Elizabeth for spending the blizzard with me! I appreciate your company, your adventurous spirit, and your perspective on a blizzard in Philly vs a blizzard in upstate NY. My wife and I stayed at this bead and breakfast for New Years Eve. This is an amazing find right on second street across from the City Tavern restaurant. This property is owned by the National Park Service so you know it is well kept and traditional. Cozy rooms, great location and the breakfast was perfect. The Inn Keeper, Chrissy... More

18th century look inside and out. Stayed in the Thomas Bond Jr. suite with a 4-poster bed, gas fireplace and sofa bed. Very comfortable, very clean. Staff very friendly and helpful. Great home made cookies at night and good breakfast choices. Super convenient to historic sites, Penns Landing and Old City Tavern. Would definitely stay again.

You will not find a more agreeable staff nor a better breakfast. It was wonderful to be in a real 18th century b&b with 18th-century-style furnishings. We found the room comfortable and adequate, albeit a bit small, and the bed a bit hard to climb into. But there's a footstool, which added to the charm. We are thinking of returning... More
