When I was in Philadelphia I stayed at the Philadelphia House for three nights, which turned out not to be enough, because the city is awesome and the people are even better! The one thing that comes to mind when thinking back of my stay there are the daily happy hours from 8 to 9 PM. "Free" beer is provided... More

The staff really make this place. Everyone was so nice, so lovely, from the second we arrived. I was travelling for 5 months solid and this is in the top 10 hostels for sure. There's free beer every day for a short while in the evening, there's a big communal space and everybody acts like family. I've kept in touch... More

A great hostel in the old town area, really good vibe with pub crawls organised basically every night. The staff are friendly and available 24 hours, which is helpful. Laundry can get done at their sister hotel a few blocks away. No locks on the dorm room doors, but lockers inside for small items. The whole place is very clean... More

My husband and I were here for 2 nights, and the place was great! The bathrooms/showers are like a 5-star resort compared to other hostels. For that alone, I'd say, "Stay here!" The employees are really friendly, everything was VERY clean. The other guests were nice and talkative. I'm moving up there, but if any of my friends are looking... More

Cool downstairs set up makes it easy to meet other travelers. Kitchen stocked with everything you could need to cook. Rooms and bathrooms cleaned very good everyday. Nightly events organized by the staff with 2 free cups of beer included! Big thanks to Ross Michelle Wes Spencer Nixon and Juliana

Great hostel, real homely feel to it. It is a shoes off at the door hostel but really it makes it feel a lot more comfortable walking around knowing it's all clean floors. Anyway, the hostel itself is great, clean rooms, clean bathrooms, no struggle for fighting over a shower/loo. Separate sink/mirror space for getting ready so no bathroom hogging.... More

I was a bit dubious about staying in a hostel while in Philly, but I needn't have worried: Philadelphia House was lovely. The staff, a motley crew of travellers, were warm and welcoming from the get go - making up for my temporarily lost reservation with friendly banter, a couple of complimentary beers, and some Mad Max: Fury Road for... One of the best hostels I've stayed in. Place is clean, facilities are good. Even have a tv with Netflix and cable to etc which is uncommon also. Great from a social aspect. Location is walking distance to anything you'll want to visit. Was a bit of a struggle to get my master lock to fit into my locker but... More

I really enjoyed my stay at the Philadelphia House. It is centrally located, the rooms are clean and they have different activities every night! The staff is very friendly and they can help you out with the sightseeing or other things you might be interested in. I would definitely recommend this place.

I went to philly with a friend for the weekend and we only stayed at the philadelphia house for one night. It was brief but it was nice. We stayed in a room called 2A, with 6 bunk beds and lockers. I thought it'd be noise cos it's right on the street side but it was fine -actually the noise... More
