I can't believe I missed reviewing this hotel. We stayed August 2015. It is excellent, excellent, excellent if you like historic buildings, dining al fresco on a lovely patio and want to walk to city center. All aspects of accommodations very clean and I'm particular! Beds were great, breakfast very sufficient, desk personnel very helpful, breakfast and dinner on patio... More

The room was of adequate size. We actually had a kitchen in ours. My beef is with the p--s poor wifi. Its 2016, they have had YEARS to build an adequate wifi system, but no such luck. If you need wifi Internet access that you can count on forget this place. Nicely located walking distance to Independence Hall, etc. You... More

The Morris House Hotel is a lovely historic hotel. Our room was spacious, clean, beautifully decorated and comfortable. The bath had a bath tub and a separate stall shower. My only complaint is that the mirror in the bath was a tad too high for me. The staff was polite, helpful and went the step further to ensure our comfort and... More

I treated my aunt to a night at this lovely boutique hotel. She was thrilled with the location, the historic nature and charm of the property, and the beautifully furnished room. Perfect for giving a visiting European a wonderful first-time Philadelphia experience!

Our 3rd floor small suite was comfortable, well appointed, very clean and quiet. Service was understated and excellent from check in through check out. The recommendation to dine at the hotel's M Restaurant was appreciated. We dined inside the restaurant although outside seating in season is available. Service, menu selections and food were very good. Highly recommend this hotel and... More

We only stayed at the Morris House Hotel for one evening but we thought it was a pleasant hotel. The location is the best part about this hotel, 5 min walking to Liberty Bell and Independence Hall. Lots of nice restaurants in the area to dine. We are a family of 4 so we had room 402 which had a... More

My experience at this glorified b&b was unpleasant in the extreme. The rooms are ridiculously outdated. Just take a look at the pictures others have posted---does this look quaint or luxurious? It's simply and outrageously outdated (when were the last upgrades?). The hotel promotes itself as a place where history and luxury are combined; unfortunately neither are accurate. In 2016,... This is a lovely, historic, perfectly located hotel... as all the other reviews will tell you. The only kinda downside is that it's a lovely, historic, perfectly located hotel... used for lotsa weddings... Therefore, you may... may experience loud music/chatter/etc. from the courtyard all day... Which may not be a problem if you're on the go... But woe to you... More

The hotel is basically a converted picturesque colonial residence. I usually do not expect much, but was quite pleasantly surprised by the Morris House Hotel. The room was very spacious with big bathroom, small kitchen area, decently big living room, and separate bedroom. I felt like I was a guest in the colonial residence. The staff were very friendly. There... More
