We liked this hotel, however, on our recent stay we were assigned to a suite (which I didn't need) in the second building...which is NOT as historic part of the Morris House. Therefore we were quite disappointed in our accommodations, as we chose this hotel because we are colonial history buffs and it was our 41st Anniversary treat to stay in an historic hotel with a four-poster bed!. But the suite did not have colonial style furnishings as shown in the web site photos for the main house rooms. It did however, have a nice clean modern bathroom and luxury bedding. When I questioned the managers about the 20th century room we got, we were told that we should have booked directly with them, and not through Booking.Com. If we had, they said they would have made an effort to give us an historic room in the main house. Which is odd, I thought, since I had already spoken with them several times on the phone when we needed to make changes to our arrival date. I also had called and asked twice about the Romance Package... the staff on the phone first said they'd check on that offer. When they didn't follow-up, I called a day later, and a female staff person said it was no longer offered. (maybe they should remove it from the web site, huh?) I will also note, that the Booking.com page where I made the reservation kept putting up a photo of a suite... with a note about upgrading. I DID NOT choose the suite. I chose a room. The hotel says I chose the suite. So clearly, there is a Booking.com glitch. Next time I will take Manager's advice and call direct. She was nice enough to offer a credit to appease our disappointment. And had we known about the discount they offer for using the parking garage across the street, we would have parked there instead of a few blocks away. However, to compensate for that, she provided a credit again to help cover our 24-hour parking situation. I also want to commend the M Restaurant affiliated with the hotel which provides a complimentary drink to guests, as well as a 10% meal discount. They offer a garden courtyard setting that's very romantic. Their staff was very friendly and welcoming, especially bartender Trish, who went "above & beyond" to make us feel welcome by providing outstanding service for our Anniversary, eventhough we only ordered drinks and an appetiser, and did not stay for dinner. In addition, we were pleased the next morning to get the colonial experience we craved, by having a wonderful complimentary continental breakfast in the lovely colonial breakfast rooms in the main house. We enjoyed the furnishings, the fireplace and the table settings, which truly were a history-lover's delight. The breakfast selections were excellent and the coffee quite good! More than made up for the earlier disappointment.

this is an outstanding hotel: more importantly it is close to Jefferson Hospital, where one may have surgery or other appointments: the hotel has a wonderful ambience, such as coffee, tea, and cookies plus an outstanding breakfast: it has a wonderful outdoor eating area and has a restaurant too: I Highly recommend it

We spent two nights in this hotel and enjoyed it very much. Our room was comfortable and the hotel was within walking distance of everything we wanted to visit. I worried that the location so close to the hospital would mean it was noisy but that turned out not to be the case. We had dinner one night in their M restaurant (on the patio) and the food and service were both very good. We also enjoyed the tea and cookies they provide. The bag storage they offer after the 11 AM check out was my only concern. The bags are just left by the desk at reception and aren't monitored if the receptionist is away from her desk. That didn't seem very secure. Otherwise, I was happy with our choice of hotel.

We stayed two nights at the Morris House. The hotel and grounds are beautiful. There is a small restaurant with the hotel. Bed was comfortable and bathroom modern. Included in our stay was a complimentary drink each evening. Breakfast was continental; NOT the HUGE American style. Coffee excellent. Only issue was lack of service to clear dirty tables in a timely manner. Girl (KL) at check-in was slow/non-existent in clearing. As the hotel is historic there are NO elevators. You'll get some exercise taking your bags upstairs. It is an expensive hotel. But, we enjoyed it and would return. Only complaint was poor service from staff (KL).

Loved this hotel. It has the feel of an inn but all the amenities of a hotel. And so close to the historic area. Staff were very accomodating. Parking right across the street. Highly recommend. Very quiet area.
