You are greeted by a young and friendly hotel staff that is very proud of their hotel. They give you a nice tour and tell you about the amenities. The room was expected to be small but quite cozy. Despite being on a busy street you wouldn't know it when in your room. Has lovely areas to sit and work... More

This beautiful boutique hotel provided a perfect setting for our daughter's wedding weekend. The eclectic rooms are wonderful, we stayed in room 501 which was amazing. The grounds and courtyard provided a delightful ambiance for the wedding brunch. The staff was friendly and accommodating, the common areas very well appointed, and the convenient location to the historic district an added... More

Before even visiting Independence Hall there's history right here! with an on-site collection of ownership-info and photos about Morris House back to its construction in 1780, including major renos to the present 1930's style. Glad to have found such a glorious change from the same-old chains. A large landscaped courtyard, with adjacent bar and restaurant, offers a peaceful respite at... More

what an experience!!! such a great cozy hotel. The location is perfect, just walking distance from any strategic place in the city. Rooms clean and big. Lovely complimentary breakfast, a tea time from 3pm until 8pm with delicious cookies. Cara, who welcome us, was perfect. She gave us all best indications and made our check in smooth and easy. We... I was thrilled to find The Morris House as I visit Philadelphia on business from time to time. From the start, the staff was very accommodating and the room was very clean. Rich in history and excellent restaurant on site. Definitely will be returning.

Chose this because of the very high rating, the historic nature and the location convenient to the historic district. It succeeded on the third of these criteria but not the first two. Got one of their largest rooms, 502, and yes, it was large but not quaint, or cute, or historic, or romantic but simply a large and plain room.... More

We had a wonderful stay at this historic property minutes from Independence Hall. The room, courtyard, restaurant/bar, and common areas were lovely and quaint. Hotel Manager Lenka was so pleasant with check-in, recommendations, directions and much more. She is a gem! Bartender Aaron directed us to Jim's on South Street for a great cheese steak. I would note that the... More

I can't believe I missed reviewing this hotel. We stayed August 2015. It is excellent, excellent, excellent if you like historic buildings, dining al fresco on a lovely patio and want to walk to city center. All aspects of accommodations very clean and I'm particular! Beds were great, breakfast very sufficient, desk personnel very helpful, breakfast and dinner on patio... More

The room was of adequate size. We actually had a kitchen in ours. My beef is with the p--s poor wifi. Its 2016, they have had YEARS to build an adequate wifi system, but no such luck. If you need wifi Internet access that you can count on forget this place. Nicely located walking distance to Independence Hall, etc. You... More
