The location, within steps of Independence Hall, is great and the rooms, beautifully appointed. But, what made the stay special was the staff and especially Roshid, the Concierge. He was welcoming, friendly, and made our stay oh so comfortable.
Excellent staff and comfortable hotel Just checked out of the Monaco and had a lovely one night stay. Although carpets are a bit threadbare and the hotel could use a “freshening up” beds were so comfy, room was very comfortable and nicely appointed. Rochid at the front desk made the difference between a nice stay and my rating if 5….exceptional. It’s rare to meet employees in the hotel business these days who go out of their way to make you feel welcome and appreciated…. Rochid did just that. And Gregory at the bell desk was also so very helpful and welcoming. The attitude of such staff should be recognized and encouraged as it is a rare find these days and makes all the difference.
I used to travel extensively for work and have easily completed several thousand hotel nights. I can emphatically say that the hotel staff I encountered were THE NICEST hotel staff I have EVER experienced. From the late night security guard that was helping as the bellman, to the front desk and concierge, they were all effusively nice!! Even the housekeeper left a handwritten note in our room welcoming us. I will definitely stay in this hotel again. Not to mention the fact it has the BEST location. We could see the building for the liberty bell and constitution hall, right out our window.
On our first visit to Philadelphia, we stayed at the Kimpton Monaco Hotel. The hotel has two outstanding features - the location and the best concierge, Roshid Milledge. Roshid is an excellent rep for this property. We had a problem with our room and he was magically able to move us even though there was limited room availability. His professionalism, friendliness, and ability to get things done made our stay very memorable. Thanks again, Roshid.
Hotel Monaco is always a best in class choice. But beyond that is the service you'll receive! Front desk manager Roshid is the best you'll meet. He goes out of his way to ensure not only a comfortable stay, but that every guest is treated like family. We've been doing business there for years & they've never disappointed. The views of historic Philly are unmatched. Definitely recommend Roshid & his entire team at the Monaco.
The concierge went out of his way to set up the room to make our kids feel super special! The hotel is beautiful and the staff are so friendly! It’s right in the historic district. We enjoyed the stay!
I normally stay at the more economy-oriented IHG hotels like the Holiday Inn Expresses or Candlewoods. This was my first time staying at a Kimpton and was quite impressed. Sure its a tad pricier than other options, but if one's Philadelphia focus is to see the downtown attractions then this is likely the best hotel option.
We had the most incredible stay at the Kimpton Hotel Monaco, it was honestly my best hotel experience by far. From the accommodations, to the restaurant Red Owl Tavern, to the Stratus rooftop lounge, everything was really great. I have nothing but wonderful things to say about the staff here. Gabe and Eric from the rooftop were very sweet and made sure we had the best time with our friends and even gave us a tour of the private rooms for events. Our waiter at Red Owl Tavern was very on top of things and brought us two desserts, which we loved! Our housekeeper left us the sweetest note after cleaning our room. Concierge was so kind to get us hot water for some late night tea. The valet was very patient with us with loading and unloading our luggages! Which brings me to my next point. THE ROOM WAS AMAZING! We had a corner suite with an incredible view of Philly! We loved the gift bag with the personal note and goodies inside. It really made us feel special and at home. Overall, we already can't wait to come back to The Kimpton Hotel Monaco! The staff at the hotel made our weekend in Philly super memorable. Highly recommend!…
By far the best hotel I’ve ever stayed at. One of the nicest hotels in Philadelphia. We stayed in the king spa room on the 8th floor. The hotel and room were spotless. The hotel is perfectly located downtown Philly and easy access to get to multiple attractions. Stay far away from the contents in the refrigerator and bring your own water. As theirs is like $8.
Hotel was beautiful, staff was wonderful, room was amazing. Within walking distance of many tourist attractions and great restaurants. Roshid went above and beyond to make our stay a great experience.
