Manayunk is a wonderful place to spend a few days. Charming restaurants, upscale shops, and bars along Main St. and the walk from the Manayunk Terrace was short (15 min.) and easy going down and a bit more exercise going up the hill. The suite we rented was totally clean and well prepared for us. The hosts were extremely friendly... More

First I will say the good things about this lodging. It is a clean, nice condo building in which rooms are now being rented. Now the negatives, and the biggest negative is the owner, Joan. She lives on the second floor and made us feel like unwelcome guests in her home. And as other reviewers said, she made multiple comments... More

I made a reservation back in October for for my daughter's graduation in May. I paid in full on the date of booking. Then inApri I get notification that she wasn't going to honor the reservation. Apparently she could get more per night and more nights than I reserved. Instead of being upfront from the beginning she lied and said... More

We just spent 5 nights at the Manayunk Terrace and are very happy to have discovered this eclectic and charming hotel. We were visiting our son who lives in the neighborhood and this is the only lodging we found within 5 miles. Our room was clean and spacious and the serve yourself breakfast option suited us perfectly. The cost was... More

Excellent room, clean, comfortable and well appointed. Close to wonderful restaurants and easy to get in and out of Philly by rail. As others have said not your typical B&B that serves full breakfast. I have one complaint, but a small one, wifi could be a bit better on first floor. On the plus side, unlike others, we had absolutely... More

As a future graduate student at Philadelphia University, I spent two nights at the Manayunk Terrace B&B while looking for a permanent residence in the area. My mom and I stayed in Room 2A which was a beautiful sun-filled room that shared a large, comfortable common space with 2B (equally nice room). Very noisy street and very difficult to park.... More

My wife & I stayed here while in town for business and a wedding. She went to school in Manayunk so it was a great opportunity to come back and visit her old neighborhood and catch up with old friends. We were a little unsure of the Manayunk Terrace at first but it is the only accomodation available in Manayunk... More

My husband made a 1 night reservation with the owner. Although they do not normally take 1 night reservations, she made a verbal agreement with him to reserve 1 night for an additional fee. Forty-eight hours before our scheduled stay, the owner cancelled our reservation because someone called for a 3-4 night stay. When I called her to express my... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Joan and William White are a retired couple who enjoy making sure guest have a comfortable, inviting, light filled, clean room with access to kitchenette area and terraces for their enjoyment. The refrigerator and kitchenette are always stocked with coffee and English muffins for the a.m., and they can bring wine, cheese, special breakfast items of their choice and put those in the convenient kitchenette. I know I am a fussy one and when we travel, It is hard to find a space where we feel comfortable. The issues being: 1) no fresh air, 2) poor lighting 3) no place to plug items in. 4) puny closets with no place to hang clothes and no hangers. 4) feeling trapped in a dark room with dark blinds and tinted windows 5) cookie cutter art, 6) expensive breakfast 7) long walks from parking lots with long walks down dark or dim hallways 8) no place to take a walk usually. Manayunk Terrace City House Hotel has addressed all these issues making it a better choice than a chain hotel. Travel Style ... more   less
