A pleasant trip back in time in this traditional building. Wonderfully welcoming and helpful hosts were willing to suggest ideas for our days in the surrounding area. A comfortable and accommodating place to stay for the whole family. We will definitely be back when our travels bring us to the area.

We stayed back in April '15 while my daughter recouperated after her operation. I found the owners very welcoming and accommodating. The house is very old and has beautiful original features, however, it hasn't been decorated or renovated in years. I found everything tired and a little too dirty for me, especially the little guest kitchen where you were able... More

Dear elle9872, It was I who prepared your breakfasts and who was the first one in the kitchen setting tables and cutting fruit for your salad, but .... even I was doing my best cleaning my kitchen and cooking, I couldn't always clean guests' kitchen. My wife and I ask our guests to be responsible for "their" kitchen, but, unfortunately,... More

I loved it!! The Silverstone is a beautiful 170 or 180 year old building, with all the creaks and noises befitting a haunted house, especially on Halloween. Our room, on the second floor was an over-sized Queen, with four windows, a fireplace, sofa, chairs and an enormous bathroom, with two windows. The furniture was Victorian and the artwork (most of... My husband and I had a wonderful stay over the weekend. The owners are friendly and the house is beautiful. Public transportation to downtown Philly is a convenient walk. You can purchase a 1 day pass to use on all forms of transportation including the Phlash bus for $12 when you get on the reginal rail at Chestnut Hill East... More

Our family with 5 kids (12yo, 5yo, 4yo, 3yo, and 8mo) and our friends with 4 kids (8yo twins & 4 year old twins) stayed here for the Festival of Families and the Papal visit. We had an amazing time. They gave us the whole 2nd floor and we loved staying there. Breakfast was always ready for all of our... More

My boyfriend and I stayed at the Silverstone Bed & Breakfast last month. We were very happy with our weekend stay ! The house itself was absolutely breathtaking and we could not get enough of it. The hosts Romuald and Yolanda along with their son Peter were very kind and welcoming. We enjoyed wonderful breakfasts and tea on the stunning... More

All the other positive reviews are true, and more: everything inside and out in this beautiful home is well-kept and easy on the eyes. And the hosts are more than wonderful--they are so interesting to talk to: Romuald, retired from cleaning up serious toxic waste challenges for the Fed, now writes fiction. Tessa is a nutritionist, with the best cookbook... More

Located in historic Chestnut Hill, the Silverstone is like stepping back to the Victorian era. I was warmly welcomed and stayed in a comfortable, spacious and well appointed room with a private bath, wood floors, brass bed and other turn of the century furnishings. The grounds were well maintained with srubs and flowers everywhere I wandered. I enjoyed the daily... More

Tessa H. Yolanda and Romuald are wonderful hosts who truly care for their visitors. They are helpful and accomodating and serve delicious and fully homemade breakfasts with a smile, humor, and good conversation. After an intense nine days being in town for graduate residency this place was a peaceful oasis after a long day and felt more like a stay... More
