1) Hotel - great. 2) Location - central to all attractions, walking east to historic area or river.. or west towards museums like art, or franklin institute. 3) Service - friendly 4) Room - smallish, but nice w/mini fridge and comfy bed, some rooms have nice view. 5) Breakfast - real good selection of hot/cold 6-9 midweek / 7-10 weekends There is an after hours key to enter and for use in elevator. But security was never a concern. I just did not feel comfortable after hours in/around the main entrance area of this hotel due to prostitution right outside. In addition the smell of urine from a nearby alleyway invades the main lobby. Why this is not cleaned up is a mystery. And $42/day for parking is crazy (3 day stay = $126) Price of hotel somewhat makes up for a little of that. I love Philadelphia, and *all* of it's history/people/culture/sports etc. I will return, just need to rethink where to stay next visit.

Bottom line: Very clean, well-kept property at a great location in central Philly. We would stay here again. The details. Room: Renovated larger studio, 1 queen bed. Spaciousness: Outstanding. It was just wife and I but could see it handle total of 3. Bath Layout: Sink is in a carpeted area and is separated from the tub/toilet area; tub/ toilet area has a privacy door. A/C: Very efficient (90 during the days) but louder than at other hotels we stayed at. Water pressure/temp: Outstanding. Shower head blasted you with plenty of hot water. City Hall subway stop is across the street. Perfect for getting to a ball/hockey game or concert. Reading market is 2 blocks away. A variety of restaurants and shopping is an easy walk. There is a 7-11 and Dunkin on the ground floor, and as noted in other reviews, the 7-11 has some unusual people hanging out after dark. But hotel has visible security on-site starting at dusk. We felt safe. Bath issues: Issue 1. Tub has a partial glass enclosure (does not span wall-to-wall) that swivels (see pic). Result: a. A/C air enters the tub area/person feels a draft while showering; b. glass bottom edge has a gasket, but it is not water-tight/water puddles on floor. Issue 2. Toilet room wall corner had discolored paint near the floor and the hinges had paint splatters on them (sloppy). Assume this was missed during the final inspection of the renovations.

This is a pretty nice Residence Inn in a renovated older building directly across from Philadelphia city hall, which I had a great view of from my windows. I had what seemed to be a recently renovated king suite, nicely outfitted with a usable kitchen and all sorts of furniture that would be nice for a family of 3 or 4 (I was by myself). The WiFi worked well, breakfast was good, and the gym was serviceable. The location can hardly be beat for a tourist, very easy walking distance to everything and several handy metro lines within a 5 minute or less radius. Overall I had a very pleasant stay and would definitely stay here again.

Stayed here several nights for business. Inside the hotel was very clean and comfortable! The staff, though the appeared under trained, were very nice and supportive. The issues I had concerned the valet and security overall. The valet was scare when I checked it forcing me too double park enter the hotel and track someone down. Just outside the doors of the hotel you will encounter many homeless and panhandlers. I did note the hotel employ's one security guard (at least I saw him during the day) but the environment can be uncomfortable. I totally understand this will impact you no matter where you stay however it did seem more concentrated outside the doors of this hotel...which is beside a 7-11 convenience store and a Dunkin Donuts. That said you are at the center of the city and great restaurants and activities are everywhere. Of significant note on the positive the Breakfast was wonderful and the breakfast staff were awesome!

My husband and I went to Philly for a weekend and we were looking for a nice location, good price and breakfast included (as always and everyone). Stumbled across this hotel- it had the best price! And we booked! And WOW! Out of dozens hotels from our many travels I couldn’t believe how NEW and stylish our room was! As you hear ‘renovated’, it can mean a LOT of things, but there the room was pristine!! So spacious! With the perfect view on to the City Hall! (Room 1500, the corner one). The carpet wad brand new, the backdrop- phenomenal and historic, the couch- new, the bed- new etc... and the bathroom was superb too! The closet- new and big! Ahhh can’t stop! And the included breakfast was superb with great coffee, juices, eggs, sausages, waffles, toasts etc... The valet parking is pricey at $55.13, but $10.13 out of it is just the city weird tax, but the guy there are super and professional! Also, right in the same building: Dunkin Donuts and 7 Eleven! AND after certain time your can enter the hotel at night with your room card, which makes it great and safe! I swear, it’s a fabulous hotel!!!
