The Hampton Inn Philadelphia Center City-Convention Center offers a prime location lauded by guests for its proximity to the convention center. While the lobby and rooms are generally praised for their cleanliness and orderly appearance, some guests have encountered delays in service and questioned the hotel's housekeeping policy.

Hotel's Favorite
I’ve never stayed at a place with such warm and responsive staff. The front desk team dealt with a huge influx of guests (we were there for the Taylor Swift concert) with patience and kindness. The housekeeping staff paraded out of the back room during breakfast by applauding guests each morning, which was really sweet. Well done! We’ll be back!

A clean, nicely appointed hotel next to the convention center; cordial staff. The lobby's lounge and breakfast are very nice, and the breakfast was fine. Parking is $30 at a surface lot a few blocks away, but most city hotels charge for overnight parking. A hold for the room rate, taxes and 20% security deposit (again, common for city hotels), is put on your credit card, but the security deposit was not charged to us. Within easy walking distance to numerous restaurants, City Hall, and Reading Terminal Market, and we also walked to the historic area (Liberty Bell, Constitution Center). A good value for the money charged.

We loved our three-night stay! I got an email early on the day of our arrival saying they looked forward to seeing us and asking if they could help with anything. I replied asking a couple questions and I received a quick response!
It is in a great location right off the highway that brings you into town so you don't have to try to maneuver the narrow, congested city streets. When we arrived I left my car with the valet and never saw it again until we left a few days later. There is so much to do within walking distance of the hotel, from the Reading Terminal Market to restaurants to sight-seeing opportunities. Yes there are homeless people on the streets, but we neverp felt threatened or bothered, even when we were out in the evening.
Every hotel staff member we encountered was friendly and willing to help and answer questions. Phyllis and Allen were particularly helpful answering logistical questions and helping us get set up for one of the sight-seeing busses. I received text messages daily asking if we needed help with anything or had any questions.
We always appreciate the complimentary breakfasts at the Hampton hotels and this one didn't disappoint. All the fare we've come to expect: waffles, cereals, breads, eggs, yogurt, fruit.
Get a good pair of walking shoes and explore the Philadelphia city center, with the Hampton as your home base!

This hotel is a quick 5 minute walk from the Convention Center which made it very convenient for our trip. The rooms were very clean. The front desk was so helpful with everything.
The breakfast (included in the price of your stay) was amazing. The selections there left us full and looking forward to the next day. I have an allergy to bananas and the kitchen staff was diligent in helping me to stay away from them in those lovely smoothies that were prepared each day.
The bar in the lobby was a wonderful respite at the end of the evening. They had a nice selection and the pricing was very reasonable.
The hotel also has a nice selection of microwave items and fresh salads daily.
If I would deduct anything is that they don't have a kitchen at night so you could have a late evening snack. Not to worry, Uber Eats delivers there and the front desk also had wonderful suggestions on places nearby.
My flight left very early morning - before breakfast was served - and I was pleasantly surprised to be able to grab a "to go" bag with an apple, bottle of water, snack cake and breakfast bar. That is not something that you get at every hotel and it was a nice touch.
This is definitely a hidden gem, that I would definitely visit again.

+1
The hotel has a good location, so you just can leave the car in the parking lot nearby and walk. The service at the front desk was excellent and very friendly. The breakfast was very busy in the morning, and they ran out of forks, the juice tray was full, and dripping, trash cans were full. I couldn't believe it! This hotel doesn't have a pool. There are a lot of homeless people around the area.

My family and I booked 2 rooms for the July 4th weekend. The only reason we ended up at this hotel is because where I usually stay was closed for July. While the staff members were nice, this hotel is of poor quality. There are numerous homeless people right as you exit the hotel. There were some questionable guests entering and exiting the hotel and just hanging out in the lobby area, none of them wearing masks. I think they house people in need of temporary shelter at this hotel. If that's the case, this should be disclosed to other guests. I did not feel safe at all leaving my room alone.
The room I was given was not as clean as it should be, considering they have the audacity to charge $150 a night. There was a hair on the microwave, smears on the walls, a stain on the sofa and grease stains on the mini fridge. I basically had to clean and sanitize the room myself when I got there. There was no tea/coffee maker in the rooms. Due to covid, there was no breakfast buffet, not that I would have eaten there, In lieu of the buffet, they offered a brown paper bag breakfast containing a bottled water, muffin, granola bar and a fruit cup. There were remnants of a "blunt" in the elevator when we were leaving. A young lady came on to the elevator with us carrying her bags wearing a tank top and underwear only. She did not have a mask on.
The fire alarm went off at 2am on July 4th of my stay. We had to exit the hotel. No staff members came out to give instructions on what we should do. We had to go ask what was going on. We didn't even get a straight answer until about 8am when we asked the staff. Apparently, someone was smoking marijuana, got high and pulled the fire alarm. Smoking in the rooms is against the hotel's policy but the staff member just brushed it off saying "we tell them not to but they do it anyway". They need to ban guests that act this way. I will never book a room here again or advise anyone to stay here.

Location was great for us. We walked to the Phil Art Museum, Barnes, Rodin, US Independence Center/Revolution Museum, Phil Fine Art Museum, Eastern State Penitentiary all within about 30 minute walk. We took a bus/trolley to the Penn Museum, FDR Park and Zoo. There are lots of options for public transportation within 5/10 minutes walk. There is a Budget/Avis within 5 minutes walk that we used twice for trips outside of town.
As for restaurants, it is right next to Chinatown for Chinese food and within 5 minutes to Reading Terminal Market. It is it not really walking distance to some of the downtown restaurants or most of the Italian restaurants. That is more of an Uber ride away.
The service at the front desk was always very friendly and helpful. The room was cleaned on arrival and over all the hotel is fairly upgraded. Due to Covid they only have grab and go breakfast (small bagel/muffin, 2 hard boiled eggs, fruit (typically apple or orange) small yogurt. They now have coffee in the lobby all day. The rooms also have individual coffee machines, microwave and small frig. We always had hot water for our showers. The computers (2) and the printer in the lobby always worked fine for printing tickets, etc. Often in hotels these seem to be out of service, paper, etc.
Now the not great stuff: The gentleman that did the room cleaning on the fifth floor left used towels, sheets, garbage bags, vacuum cleaner and dry mop just laying all over the hall way day after day while he was cleaning the rooms throughout the day. We had to step over/walk around the stuff each day to get too and from your room. NOT how it should be. The ice machine was broken 90% of the time on our floor. If you pay for/expect breakfast at a Hampton Inn you should get something better than what they provided. I understand grab and go during Covid but what is provided should be better. We had to ask a few times to get additional towels.

The check in and check out experience was easy enough to do from my phone. Having a digital key was cool. Some of the front desk staff were helpful as we were looking for dinner suggestions and needed extra towels. Breakfast was decent and average as you would expect from an included hotel breakfast. Breakfast pastries and make your own waffles were awesome. Close to all the places we needed to be. The room overall was nice, view was decent.
On to the not so great. Breakfast was often served cold, mainly the eggs, potatoes, and sausage. But their breakfast staff were always helpful. Hot coffee and hot water weren't consistently available. While towels and washclothes were always available, their other toiletries options were non existent or minimal (hygiene products mainly.) The room didn't have proper ventilation especially as we visited during covid times. There wasn't ample toiletries in the room, so when we ran out of toilet tissue early in the morning we were just out of luck (front desk didn't have enough staff to come to our room to drop one off.) Parking was over priced for $30 a night.

Good evening,
We are about 6mins driving distance and about 15mins walking distance.
We used the hotel valet. I’m not sure where the lots are but valet was much safer. We heard there are car break ins with street parking and to valet or park in a designated parking lot.
Yes, it is.
