The main entrance is a little tricky to navigate. The elevator at the bottom entrance takes you to the lobby, then you have to get off that elevator and go to different ones to get to the hotel room floors. Once in the lobby, the front desk is welcoming, the bar seems lively and every employee you encounter is friendly. The hotel has many old features still intact to give the atmosphere an older style, which is so cool. Clean rooms with great views, and the hotel itself is attached to The Shops at Liberty Place.

This place has a charming old feel to it, but where it lacks is the basics. There was no soap in my room. No body wash in the dispenser. What is this a motel 8? Even motel 8 gives you soap. Go downstairs at midnight for soap and was handed a sad tube of body wash with no apologies. The bed is bad. The mattress is covered by a loose sheet, not fitted. Gross. The top sheet feels scratchy and old. The mattress sags. The room seems clean enough. The elevator buttons don’t light up when you hit them. Did you call the elevator? Only time will tell. Place doesn’t feel 4 stars. Restaurant is decent. Staff moral seems low and it shows.

Friendly staff, clean room... contemporary design in the room, but the bathroom felt a little dated to me. Nicely decorated, but definitely saw clues of where the building and room was on the older side... for example, we had 4 ppl staying in the room, but there was no place to hang used bath towels in the bathroom... so we hung towels in the closet on hangers. Weird right? The hotel was generally nice, but a few quirks kinda got under my skin. First, we did self parking and while there is a garage in the building (convenient) the signage for where to park is vague at best. Eventually we found an employee who told us we could park on the first floor (closest to street) - but in spots marked as "reserved"... of course this happened after we drove all the way to the bottom of the garage, looking for "Westin guests park here" signs. Secondly, we were there on a long weekend and wanted to do some sightseeing. It was a healthy 15-20 min walk to the Reading Terminal Market (a comfortable walk around/through City Hall), and we had to drive to Chinatown. On this particular trip to Philly we didn't visit Independence Hall, but that isn't close either. Nice place, but there are definitely more convenient hotels for tourists.

Dear Kevinchin5, Thank you for your recent visit and for sharing feedback via tripadvisor. I am glad that you found your room to be clean and our staff friendly. I am sorry there were a few items that were not as expected. While our location is not close to chinatown and a short walk to Reading Terminal Market, many guests find our location much more desirable for great dining and shopping. Also, The parking lot you are referring to is unfortunately completely separate from the hotel so we cannot designate parking spots for our guests. One more item to note, is that we will be completely renovating all of our guest rooms starting in December. Again, thank you for your feedback and hope we can welcome you back in the future. Kind Regards, Matt

I stayed at this hotel in July 2022 as I was visiting the city for pleasure, and I was very satisfied with my stay. Of the hotel's amenities, I utilized valet service and utilized the onsite restaurant a few times. As others have mentioned, the location is phenomenal to many Downtown locations and Ubers were quick to arrive. Also, I did notice at least one city taxi idle nearby on occasion. The hotel did upgrade me at no additional charge to the city view suite due to my loyalty membership. I found the room to be very nicely appointed for a hotel of this caliber. While the bed was a little bit firm compared to another Westin I stayed at a few weeks ago, at the same time a bed that's firm to me may be just right or too soft to others. From a valet perspective, I was very satisfied with the service. I noticed that the hotel parking garage had an unusually low clearance at 6 feet high (I saw this across the city actually at different garages). As a result, I valeted my pickup truck since I know valets have access to other parking areas besides the garage usually. They kept my truck near the entrance during my stay, which was very convenient for me. The valets mentioned they do that for longer vehicles due to how tight the parking garage can be, so if you're driving an Expedition, Suburban or pickup truck, valet over self-park is highly recommended! I noticed that they had a Porsche 911 valeted as well so they do handle higher-end vehicles with professionalism. I ended up utilizing the restaurant multiple times while I was there. For breakfast, the food was quickly served and the server also promptly brought the check once the food was served for me to charge to the room. I found this to be very convenient as I had a morning appointment on one of the days I was there, so it allowed me to quickly depart instead of wait for the check. For dinner, the bartenders had a great attitude and were knowledgeable about local Philly bourbons / whiskeys. The food was good for the price paid. All in all, I recommend this hotel and will certainly keep it in mind in my future business or tourism returns to the city!!

We stayed at the Westin in Philadelphia for a family wedding in June 2022. The hotel was clean, centrally located to everything, and provided excellent attention to our group. We stayed in Room #1209 which is a handicap-accessible room. Neither my wife nor I, are handicapped so I was a little surprised they had given us this room. The room was fine, but the bathroom became the bane of our existence for the weekend. There is a large sliding pocket door to the bathroom that my wife and I both struggled with all weekend. Closing it for privacy meant a good chance you would be locked inside the bathroom as there was just no easy way to open the door. Often it took both of us (one working from outside) and the other (trapped in the bathroom) several minutes of lifting the door, pushing the door, wiggling the door, and pleading with the door to get it to open. There was no secret that once stumbled on would make it easy to open in the future. One time lifting it slightly worked. The next time, lifting it slightly did nothing. A very frustrating experience. The shower was more amusing than annoying. There was no tub, just a wide tiled area with a drain, which I presume would allow someone in a wheelchair to roll right into the shower area. Fantastic. What I couldn't figure out was how the water would stay in the shower area. Guess what? It didn't! The entire bathroom floor was under water after every shower. So, lots of towels later, we would dry the floor so we wouldn't break our necks. One highlight I would like to point out is Kaci who was working at the valet desk when we pulled up. He was always on duty and a treasure trove of information about Philadelphia. Kaci is exactly the kind of resource you are looking for when staying in a city that you are unfamiliar with. Huge shout out to Kaci!

Wanted to give them high mark as they did upgrade me to a nice suite but they charged me breakfast which was supposed to be complementary for Titanium members. Tried to call billing but the line keeps getting directed to front desk which hasn’t answered several calls today. Follow through please, Westin Philly!

Reception was great, housekeeping friendly. Reservations were awful -- booking extra days around a wedding block was ridiculously difficult. Getting in and out requires taking an extra elevator from the entrance, which is not really a security extra as anyone can take it. Note that the lowest floor of rooms (#4) does not require keyed entry, but other floors do. COVID rules meant no daily room cleaning, although towels and amenities were graciously offered by staff. The bar is WAY overpriced -- there are good places to have a drink nearby -- and the bartender the night we stopped there had no idea how to make a simple martini (but he was very friendly and offered good service). The room was large though dimly lit. The hotel location is terrific if you want to take in Chestnut Street and Rittenhouse Square (although I don't really see what's the big deal about this rather average size city park). It's a 2-mile walk to the Penn/Drexel university area. When asking the doorman for a cab, he made a quick phone call and warned us that it would take 15 minutes to arrive -- from then on we booked Ubers to get around, although they were a bit more pricey than the cab. If taking a cab, better to hail one yourself. Overall, this is just an average city hotel that does not go out of its way to be helpful. Seems a very good place to have a business meeting, but not really targeted to tourists. And one more thing: I'm not sure what they use to wash the bathroom tub and tile between guests, but it's REALLY SLIPPERY, especially the tub. No plastic mat provided, so used a small towel. I fortunately was not badly hurt when my foot went out from under me and I fell the first time I stepped into the shower.

We had our wedding block, Friday Welcome, and Sunday Brunch at The Westin Philadelphia, and it was a perfect home base for our wedding weekend. My now husband and I (and our dog) stayed in a presidential suite and it was BEAUTIFUL! There was a snack and sparkling water set up to welcome us, and the front desk sent up a doggie bed, a placemat for our dog’s water/food bowls, and doggie bags. We were so impressed with the level of service our beloved pup received. The Westin even allowed us to bring our dog to the Friday and Sunday events! Our Friday Welcome and Sunday Brunch were held in the Georgian Room which was an upgrade. If I were making the selection again, I would easily choose the Georgian Room and pay the additional cost. The Georgian Room has beautiful deco, large windows, and was just the most lovely atmosphere to host guests for our events. The food was outstanding, but it was the level of service that really put the events over the top. All of the servers were so kind, attentive, and professional. It was a level of service that is rare to find and really stood out. Everyone who worked at The Westin was wonderful. When we checked in, the front desk had all our wedding details to share with our guests including our church, shuttle, and reception locations and times. Sydne, my contact at The Westin, was so helpful and responsive throughout the planning process and made everything feel very seamless. Sydne offered to keep the hotel bar/restaurant (The Lea) open late on Saturday for guests when they returned from our reception. It was great to be able to have a low-key after party right in the hotel where many guests were staying. Once again, the bartenders were excellent! You can’t beat the location of The Westin. The Rittenhouse Square neighborhood is so charming and there is access to many shops and restaurants. We got married at St. Patrick’s which is a short walk from The Westin and we did family group photos in Rittenhouse Square Park which was beautiful with everything blooming in April. We can’t recommend The Westin enough. If you are looking for an idyllic location to host your guests, don’t hesitate to trust The Westin!

Our stay was warm and welcoming. The hotel is older but the furnishings are modern and has good a vibe Worth the money, especially for the location, as its located in the heart of downtown. Rooms were clean. Requested services for the room were not as prompt as we would like. The gym was top notch and had a variety of equipment with all of it being clean and new. Gym was maintained very well and great for people who are traveling but want to prioritize fitness. One of our favorite parts of the stay was Kaci, he was kind, accommodating and showered us in a warm greeting and positive energy everytime we saw him. He works hard and is enthusiastic at his job If only all Hotels had more people like him!!

First off, i would like to say the valet and bartenders were great and this review does not reflect them. This review is strictly for the assistant manager, Paige. We originally had booked a 1 night stay and we decided to extend our stay for another night. I went to the front desk to arrange this and the employee there was happy to extend our stay with the same rate, no problem. The next day i get an email saying we need to come remove our forgotten items from the room we checked out of.. i email her back saying we extended our stay yesterday.. but she could not find our reservation. We had to walk back to the hotel to deal with this so we get there and she’s instantly rude to us saying there is no reservation for today’s stay. I bring over the man who extended our stay and have him try to explain to her he extended our stay.. long story short she needed to make a new reservation for us, fine. She then proceeds to tell us the room is an extra $80 more than the previous night.. i tell her he told us it was the same rate, we continue to argue over this and she finally gives us the same rate and then proceeds to charge us double to park our car overnight ($104 for overnight parking?? Insane!). The overall experience of dealing with the assistant manager was horrible and we will not be staying here again. Sad when we paid almost $800 for a 2 night stay for nice weekend and this is the customer service we get.
