Don’t be fooled by the beautiful river view, as I was, enticing me to stay an extra night. I stayed 2 nights. My room was not cleaned at all the second day. Just before checking out on the 2nd day, I made a disturbing discovery. There was a stain on the top sheet on the bed and a used band aid on the floor beside the bed. I was not responsible for either. I took pics on my phone and showed them to Management while I was checking out. She said that because I checked out there was nothing she could do, but add points to my account and contact housekeeping. This is unacceptable, I should have received a refund for my stay and not have been unknowingly subjected to such unsanitary conditions. With Covid19, cleanliness is supposed to increase, not decrease! I will stay elsewhere in the future!

4Virgins, Thank you for your review of the Holiday Inn Express Penn's Landing. I am appalled at the information and photos you had posted and I sincerely apologize as this is not how we enforce the cleanliness of the rooms for our guests. However with the outbreak of Covid-19, we are limited on providing daily cleaning service to every five days to help minimalize the contact of guests belongings. I would like to find out more information on your departure when informing the front desk. Once again I do apologize for the way this was handled and I will be using this as more in depth training across all departments. Thank you, Bruce P. Assistant General Manager

My husband and I came here for a meeting nearby the next day. This is during the 'social distancing' period so there were actually very few cars on road. Traffic noise was not what kept me up. The problem was all the other guests coming off the elevator at 3 and 4am. The talking, door slamming, and conversations were relentless. It's 6:10 and going strong. I did put in my own ear plugs but I can still hear the fighting and yelling. I WISH there was road noise!

We stayed over Presidents Day weekend and it of course is a busy weekend but the front desk staff could barely be bothered when we spoke to them. When we came to check in on Friday night the guy that checked us in was extremely unfriendly and cold. We went up to our room and in the elevator was a giant sign that said there would be a hefty cleaning fee if there were any signs of Valentine’s Day romance in your room. We got to our room and it was clean but dated. We were there for two days and parking in philly on a busy weekend is no treat so we decided to try to utilize the shuttle service the hotel offers instead. We waited over forty five minutes on Saturday and no shuttle came back to the hotel through out that time. We asked the front desk and the three people behind the desk seemed actually bothered by our questions as to how it worked. The woman behind the desk vaguely answered that it was on demand but then couldn’t tell us how to get in contact with the driver. We finally gave up and took our chances driving, when we finally came back around 10:30 and there wasn’t a spot available in the lot. Having paid $30 a night to park I wouldn’t expect that, so they had a valet that took your keys and double parked you in the lot and would move you to a space if one became available. We were kind of floored that we had to do this but figured we had no choice. We came down on Sunday morning at 9 for breakfast and the line was horrendous and almost everything was empty, the oatmeal was out, the sausage was empty, and there were no eggs. We decided to skip dealing with the crowds and lack of food and check out at that point because we were totally disappointed. This definitely did not live up to any other IHG experience I’ve had and I definitely would not stay here again. The only upside to the whole experience was housekeeping, everyone we passed in the hallways could not have been friendlier, maybe management should consider putting them at the front desk as it would create a much more hospitable and warm environment upon arrival.

Convenient, comfortable, reasonably priced. Onsite parking is a plus. Bathroom could use some work: finishes were a little rough around the edges with some water damage on the bathroom door; and there was not sufficient, consistent hot water. I had enough hot water to get shampoo into my hair, then rinsed in ice cold water. Quite a wake up routine!

Thank you for your review Elizabeth D. I apologize that the hot water wasn't enough for a full shower. I will alert engineering to have a look at our system to make sure that your next visit you have a nice hot shower the whole time!

We were very impressed with our room, the staff and the overall experience. We were here with family in several rooms for New Year's Eve, and Bruce took great care of us. The lobby is welcoming and they had cocoa and cookies at check in. Our rooms were clean and the beds were comfortable, and we had a very nice view. The free breakfast the next morning was impressive, with a nice variety. We look forward to our next stay!
