The room was average. There were stains on the blanket, but I was offered a different room by the hotel staff and they were really polite. The only thing is that they didn't state that there was a $250.00 holding fee when I made the reservation nor at the front desk at check in. I found it on my online banking statement. My hotel stay was the beginning of December, but I STILL haven't received my deposit back yet. This is January 2021. My room was in GREAT condition when I checked out.
Very unsociable staff. The hotel is empty and you get the impression of feeling lonely most of the time. The location is central but also some of the surrounding neighborhoods are not very clean or safe when night falls.
I thought the hotel was very nice and the location was great. Our room was clean and comfortable. I’m guessing that currently due to COVID they are not doing any cleaning of rooms during your stay, which we didn’t mind but it was not communicated to us. On our third day I had asked the front desk for some items to replenish our room and was told they would bring it to our room. The never did. The hotel staff was not able to accommodate anything we asked for including simple directions to local sites. We were a bit disappointed. They were not overly friendly and didn’t go out of their way to help out.
Stayed here with my teenage kids. Garage across the street was 80 for two nights. Next time I will fine a cheaper option. The layout is confusing. We walked in and no one was on the first floor. Eventually figured out to go the second floor. Took us a while to find anyone. One downside is that there is no cool fun hangout lobby area like other Cambria’s or hotels. I must say though I room was crazy quiet. We were on 7 and for being right in the city heard no street noise at all. Did not hear another guest in the hall the entire time here which is rare. Last night we smelled weed through the walls but that smell seems to be all over Philly. Beds were comfortable and so are the pillows and towels. I asked for an extra blanket and one was brought up immediately. People seem to say mixed reviews on staff but all of our interactions were positive. Felt safe coming and going even at night. There is a hot spot rooftop bar on top so sometimes you see a line to get in the hotel but it isn’t for the hotel itself. Great restaurants a block away! Give Estia and Misconduct Tavern a try. Be sure to walk to the market for breakfast and lunch. Reading market has some of the best food I have ever had. Don’t miss it! One last thing- my kids loved the Bluetooth in the mirror! …
Location was spot on. In the midst of everything. Walkable to many shops and restaurants. Downside was the cleanliness of the room. Had to ask to change rooms because stains on sheets and the room was not particularly really clean. Second room was better, but still sub par with the cleanliness. I feel they need to especially during COVID and otherwise pay attention to even the smallest details when it come to cleanliness.
