We checked in 4 hours early with no issues. The front desk was more than accommodating and helpful. Room was clean and pretty spacious for the lowest room category. Parking is a bit pricey but your in the city.

Finally getting around to writing a review with all the madness. First the good: the hotel is located in the best place on the corner of 19th and Market in what's called Rittenhouse Square. Any food type, shopping option or need you have is literally within 3 blocks in any direction. Target, MAC, smoothie place, vitamin shop, clothing and paper boutiques, Nordstrom Rack, sushi, noodles, vegan, deli, etc. The lobby is huge and modern, and the room was spacious and well taken care of: some wear and tear to be expected, like my toilet was loose, but pretty well maintained. Housekeeping was mostly great, except the few times I received "clean" towels and bed sheets that had long hair on them, not mine. :o The concierge lounge lady is awesome and the food is simple and good, plus it had beverages, snacks, tea and coffee. The gym was smaller but perfect size for every need. The hotel manager, concierge and a few couple of desk people, and a few doormen were helpful and knowledgeable about the area and attractions. Right before I left, they started doing Monday night happy hour for the guests, with tasty finger foods and 2 free drinks. There's also a Ruth Chris' Steakhouse attached to the hotel so you don't have to leave the building. The bad: I was there for 6 weeks and right before leaving found that there was a CAMERA on the tv; the whole time I was being watched!!!! ! The front desk lost 2 of my packages the first day I arrived and I didn't get them til 3 weeks later; they were downstairs the whole time; front desk wasn't very good at letting me know about packages or finding them and I was double charged twice for my stay by a front desk worker. The room service and food were bad: they hardly picked up and when they finally did answer, they were put out that you called. The food took a long time to come, wasn't average and was overpriced, esp. since there was a restaurant downstairs that had $9 daily specials that were amazing! There's a fire house down the street and medical area, so sirens and ambulances all night long, that can be heard through ear plugs. Don't get a room by the elevator if you want quiet. I was told there were no microwaves available, but after a few weeks mentioned I wish I had one, and was told they were available. Some front desk staff seem to know, some not so much. Finally, being hit on by staff is never cool, especially if you are staying long term. Overall it was a great stay and I would do it again, especially now that I know what I know.

This was my first stay at this hotel. It was a great first time experience. The staff is friendly. I stayed in a suite on the 23rd floor. The room had a king size bed and a queen sleeper couch. The rooms were clean and organized. I had breakfast via room service which was very good. In fact the omelet was too much that I could not finish it. The food arrived at the time requested. Everything was hot and flavorful. I would stay here again and would recommend it.

We stayed at the Sonesta for two nights on Valentine's Day/President's Day weekend. While the room was very clean, bed was comfortable, and the location was excellent, there was a door connecting our room to our neighbors on either side. This wouldn't have bothered us, except our neighbors on one side stayed up until 2AM on Valentine's Day playing music and we could hear everything from our room because of the non-soundproofed door. When I called the front desk to share this with them and ask them for earplugs, they apologized and notified us that they had run out of earplugs. I was extremely surprised and disappointed that such a large hotel would have completely run out of earplugs on Valentine's Day/a holiday weekend. As an alternative, they offered to send security up to the room, which I found to be a bit aggressive considering the noise wasn't so disruptive that it couldn't just be blocked out by earplugs. The second night, the same room stayed up until 2AM again watching TV. Anecdotally, this room also left their "Do Not Disturb" sign on their door the entire stay, which I personally found a bit strange considering it appeared they stayed up late all night, and perhaps slept all day. When I was asked how my stay was at check out, I told the concierge it was fine, but explained the above, only to have him look completely caught off guard, say "I apologize," and promptly ask if I wanted a copy of my receipt. I expected a bit more of an apology and some offering of redemption or compensation to entice us to return to a Sonesta, but unfortunately I don't think I will.

We can only hope that you will return to allow us an other opportunity to show this was the exception not the rule.

The location is excellent. Only a few blocks to Suburban Station & many good dining options nearby. My plane arrived late but the staff was very accommodating and let me sleep off the jet lag the next day. Check on Booking.com for good deals
