Lokal was the perfect stay for my trip the Philly. The room, the location, the decor, everything was amazing. Thank for making our mini vacation fo enjoyable ! I could not recommend it more. We will be back soon !
A hotel that is the same as feeling in a super functional home. Located in the heart of Philadelphia, Old City. Comfortable, ideal to rest. Close to the best places to eat and walk. The best option if you go to the city. Friendliness and professionalism
I love the simple style, the modern features and the cozy white robes! It felt like a spa getaway with fresh purified tap water, class cocktail options and all the coffee accessories you need. Coming from someone who is not a big fan of a crowded city, I loved that when I walked in this hotel room, I instantly felt relaxed and comfortable. I love supporting local businesses and this hotel is all about that! The ipad allowed you to order what you need from a local busuiness nearby and everything was convenient. You didn't have to worry about checking in or getting a key. Even the shampoo & conditioner was amazing! Overall, amazing boutique hotel experience!
My friend and I stayed at the Louisa apartment in Old Town and we fell in love with the space the moment we walked in there. There was so much natural light! The apartment is beautifully designed with attention to detail. We enjoyed using the kitchen - it had everything we needed for cooking meals. Contactless check-in and check-out were super easy! The location couldn't be any better, so close to all the attractions, shops and restaurants. Highly recommend Stay Lokal to anyone traveling to Philadelphia.
Wow! The aesthetic Lokal Has to offer is everything you could dream of. Not only is it beautiful, but the location is so amazing! So many awesome restaurants and fun places to visit nearby. This hotel was everything AND more than I expected!
Stay Lokal is so stylish, The Ben suites is gorgeous in the heart ♥️ Philly's Old 🌇 The rooms 🛏 are so beautifully 🤩 and Instagram worthy 👍🏻designed and have every possible amenity you could want. Beautiful bathroom 🚽 design and Nice view of top 🌃 of Ben Franklin Bridge 🌉 at night 💫 I really loved 🥰 staying here For sure. 😉
If staying local is your thing... Lokal Hotel is the absolute dreamiest place for you to unwind. The Old City location is on the cutest block lined with boutiques, coffee shops, and galleries. Right around the corner is the Betsey Ross House, and right through an alleyway alongside Lokal’s building is Elfreth’s Alley. The location is walking distance to the entire historic district and is super easy to navigate as Philly has signage on almost every corner sharing historic facts! I stayed in Ben, located on the 4th floor! Do know, it is a walk up, which was no problem for me, but if you cannot walk stairs, I’d recommend staying in the rooms located on the 1st floor. The apartment was gorgeous, super bright, CLEAN, and cozy. Really felt like you were at home! The appliances were very modern and there were directions located on an iPad to share how to use them. There was even a washer and drier! The bathroom was full of all your necessities - body wash, shampoo, conditioner, loads of towels, including “makeup” washcloths (which I found so convenient) as well as a hair drier. The kitchen was spacious - my boyfriend & I found it easy to make tea, order breakfast and eat on the barstools. Large sitting area with a tv: netflix, Apple TV, cable + more. The bed was big, comfy and the pillows were fluffy! Truly felt like I wanted to live there. Imagine waking up everyday with sunlight beaming through your windows? You glaze over and see the Ben Franklin Bridge peaking through the brick buildings? Just lovely. Had such a great stay :’)…
We recently stayed two nights at the Lokal hotel, in the room Louisa. Here are my thoughts: Decor is really clean and minimal. We liked the spaciousness of the 2 bed / 1.5 bath for the most part. Kitchen is nicely stocked with dishes and a coffee maker, soap and a cute dishwasher. But here's the problem: the second half bath is tiny...you can't even really wash your hands in the sink without water flying everywhere and there is nowhere to put anything. So all 4 of us used the larger bathroom, which was okay but not ideal. A note to be prepared to walk up 4 flights of stairs with your luggage. This wasn't an issue for us but may be for people who can't navigate steps easily. There is no front desk but the owner / property manager is responsive and happy to help, which is nice. Originally we asked for a 1pm checkout for work reasons but this was denied. Ultimately they gave us an extra half hour which was appreciated as my husband was on work calls all morning. Neighborhood is nice and relatively close to everything. No need for a car, although we had one and appreciated the nearby parking lot. The three star rating is for the following reasons: 1. Fridge was broken and froze all of our food. The microwave was also malfunctioning and it took an eternity to try to heat up our frozen food! The owner was responsive and offered to send someone out to fix it but we decided to live with it rather than try to coordinate a handyman in our already tight schedule. 2. $1,084 w/tax for two nights is quite high in my opinion, considering the lack of amenities, the malfunctioning appliances, and the fact that the 1/2 bath was really unusable. Overall the Lokal was a nice little adventure from our normal hotel stays!…
My husband and I are expecting our first baby in September, and with the pandemic, we couldn't leave the country for our Babymoon as we had hoped. We decided to do a staycation in the city and Lokal was PERFECT! It felt like home away from home and it was right in the heart of Old City, steps away from our favorite coffee shops and restaurants! We had an issue with the tv sound in out initial suite, and within minutes of informing our contact, we were moved to another, even better suite with a beautiful street view! I would definitely recommend. It is not your typical "hotel" with a front desk and room service. It's much more homely and we loved that about it!
My boyfriend and I had a wonderful stay at the Old City location. There was so much to do within walking distance (restaurants, shops, etc.) and the owners provided lots of recommendations in the field guide as well. The room was perfectly clean and we felt comfortable staying even during the pandemic. Honestly, I wish my current apartment looked like the room we stayed in! It was beautiful. It had a huge window that brought in lots of natural light. There was so much attention to detail like the iPad, the locally made soaps and coffee, the robes, the rainfall shower head--the list goes on. We had a chance to communicate with Courtney and Chad, two of the owners, and they were so kind and responsive. I can't wait to stay at another Lokal location.
