the sofitel philadelphia at rittenhouse square transports one from the hustle of philadelphian streets into it’s french-styled flair immediately upon entry into its lobby. the staff from the valet stand to the front desk to the restaurant are helpful, courteous, pleasant and genuine. the complimentary breakfast is extraordinary. seriously. at least the omelette, frites, coffee, orange juice, and fruit bowl that i enjoyed were. the scents in this hotel are fabulous. the lobby, the elevators, as well as the floor that i stayed on always smelled great. the amenities of the room that i stayed in, a king superior, were the cherry on top of an already inviting layout. great soft bed and pillows. nice looking and sounding television. balmain brand body wash, shampoo, conditioner and lotion. the only suggestion for improvement that i have is the housekeeping. it took all day for my room to be cleaned. not sure if the hotel was full or under-staffed. the sitting chair had plenty of popcorn in its crevices upon check-in. the floor underneath the furniture was incredibly dusty and obviously never tended to. …
A nice comfortable choice on convenient Rottenhouse square — our room was pleasant and large, though showing wear around the edges for this class of hotel. The breakfast unfortunately was notably in need of staff upgrades and training, Both mornings we were there the service was exceptionally slow, and I was flummoxed when my English muffins never arrived at all, only to be informed by the hostess— after I finally inquired — that they were out of muffins. The next morning the toast arrived extremely late, way after everything else, cold and burnt. I saw the hostess apologizing profusely to two other tables. It’s a nice bright space and a situation that should be fixed, pronto.
This is a great hotel. I have consistently had a positive experience across several stays. Good service. Valet a bit slow due to traffic and shower is a little small. But very clean and overall a good experience. We will be back!
Dash and Joyce created an amazing environment for us all. I have to say and as we all know serving from the heart makes the experience lovely and with both Dash and Joyce, the experience was even magical. Also, being able to connect with them both made the exprience even bubbly. For sure these two make the Sofitel brand even more special. Thank you, Dash and Joyce, for an unforgettable experience.
we have stayed at this hotel for many years as we attend the philly flower show every year. the room was nice however, the bathroom door knob was broken and they said they would fix that but never did. also they have new clocks on the night stand some one came up to show us how to change the time, but they didn't know how to use the new clocks as they just received them. our clock was 1 hour behind so it was a drag cause we kept loking at the clock thinking the time was correct. also the pull out referator was not working and no one knew how to use it. the shower was wonderful as my knees are very bad and I am not able to use bathtub styles. I also want to share with you that our room was next to someone that had a dog, which is fine, howver on sat night 3/4 the dog started to bark around 6:30 pm and when we returned from our dinner at 10:00 pm the poor dog was still barking, I went the the check in area and asked if they could call the owners to come and take him out or to just be with him. I really think if they are goning to leave their dogs for that long of time alone they should leave them home so cruel to that animal. also it was not so great to hear that dog bark for that long. maybe you suggest to your customers that have dogs they should chkec on them every few hours. see yoiu next year when we attend the flower show in 2024. …
The hotel is perfectly located in Philadelphia, walking distance to all the museums, restaurants and stores. The gentleman at the front desk gave us a map and pointed out everything to visit and even where to have lunch. The room cleaning is wonderful, they ensure that your room is perfect! And I must agree with the other guests that Miguel is incredible! Also a BIG THANK YOU to the boys at the valet. My daughter forgot her epipen in our vehicle and they immediately ran out to go find it!
We decided to remain in Center City, rather than return home after our late night dinner, it was a great decision. Check-in was seamless, the room was comforting and he staff was amazing. The kindness and pleasantness of the staff, (especially Miguel) enhanced the experience. The Sofitel is now on our list for stay-cations.
Our family enjoyed a lovely afternoon tea at the Sofitel. It was an overwhelmingly positive experience, with a couple of points for improvement. We had enjoyed tea at Sofitel in the past, and were a bit concerned from online reviews that things had deteriorated since covid. We need not have worried-- Sofitel afternoon tea is back in excellent form! We were greeted warmly by staff, and our French server Miguel was fantastic-- expert at his job, and so personable. The French brand Palais de The is a wonderful and high quality tea range, and we had our choice of 10 or so different blends. Then the scones, plain and maple, were freshly baked and delicious. The lemon curd spread and jam also seemed home made. The sandwich course was equally memorable-- loved the salmon with caviar, and the crab tacos. The olive bread with cheese and basil-- the bread also seemed fresh baked-- was really nice, and thank you Sofitel for accommodating our vegetarian family member with special sandwiches! Not to be missed: the dessert course was fab! The raspberry cake slice and chocolate bon bon were wow! We liked the baked items so much, and we understand the chef behind them is David, so thank you, David! Sofitel is lucky to have you and Miguel on staff. Yes, prices are up a bit since Pre-COVID, but the value is there, and we will definitely be back! Two small points for improvement: there was some confusion among staff upon our arrival as to whether tea was in the Liberte lounge or La Colette restaurant. It is in the latter, but it seemed strange that staff did not initially send us to the right place. Other small point: tea is listed at 1-3 pm, which is not very French because it's so early in the afternoon-- but no matter-- the bigger problem was we made our reservation for 3 pm, and this was seen as very late by the maitre d'. I would suggest that you say something on the website like tea is served 1-3, with the last seating at 2:45. Otherwise, it is reasonable to assume seating it until 3, and that you will be served until completion of the tea. We got the feeing that arriving at 3 was putting the chef out a bit, and it shouldn't be that way. We would have been happy to book at 2:30 or 2:45, but didn't know that 3 pm would be a problem. Other than those slight hiccups, we had such a truly delightful experience that it will linger long in our memory. Thank you, Sofitel.…
My company has been hosting events at Sofitel Philadelphia for decades. It’s always a fantastic experience being at the hotel. The staff is always very friendly, caring and ready to serve with whatever we need. I don’t remember all staff member’s names but Dash stood out for me in his willingness to jump in and help. Seeing Sofitel staff is like reuniting with your family. Thank you!
