Let me start with a few positives. The property is well located, housekeeping is impeccable and overall, decor is upscale (if somewhat dated). Also, we had a corner 1 bedroom suite, which is a great configuration for a family. I generally really like Sofitel properties and didn't hesitate to book even though the price point was quite close to the Ritz when I originally booked. That said, this stay was not good - from check in where we had to circle for 45 minutes just to enter the driveway for valet, due to the huge backup at the hotel, to the 2 separate consecutive occasions where they gave us demagnetized keys (20 minutes of back and forth trying to get into the room) to a phone and tv that weren't working. It turns out that a rocky check in was the least of our worries because we then proceeded to have 2 sleepless nights in the middle of a heat wave where the air condition was either rattling and whistling as loud a concert before it finally gave out and died. The room got to 76 degrees and we had headaches from the hot, sleepless night - we spent the 2 days walking around Philly like zombies without sleep. The biggest issue was how they reacted, no one took control of the situation and I spent the whole holiday calling front desk, holding for 10 minutes, re-explaining the situation to new staff with no continuity. Finally, we were offered a comped night and "upgraded" to a new room on our last night, which was actually a smaller room. Literally spent hours holding, begging for help, repacking and moving - all time we wanted to spend enjoying our holiday. Totally get that stuff breaks, but the lack of leadership and accountability shocked us - no one followed up with us, no one sent up ice and drinks while we sizzled in the room, no one left a message to let us know that the air conditioning could not be fixed - just a constant cycle of us returning to a "still" boiling room and begging for help again and again. They did comp us a few drinks and one night out of 3, but really felt like too little too late. This feels like a conference hotel that caters to expense account travellers that doesn't offer any real care or service. Just to be clear, I have never written a review like this before. I will think twice before staying at any Accor properties again despite enjoying Sofitels and Fairmonts in the past.

I usually stay at 5 at at hotels only to make sure I don’t have issues with staff and service, had to stay here because of last minute booking an availability. Paid for a suite, came at 215 trying to check in and was told room wasn’t ready. I booked through AMEX which usually gives u early check in and late check out. Was told I had to pay for early check in which I didn’t understand, the front desk person was extremely rude, didn’t apologize for anything, tried to brush me off so she could get to the next person in line (line wasn’t long at all). I had bags with me and just wanted to drop them off shower and go to an event, wasn’t going to happen. I left, 2 hours later (4pm) was told that my room was ready. Came back around 6, got my keys, the room was sub par, the bed is HORRIBLE. As in sunken in and not friendly to people with any kind of back issue. They put a topper on it which did absolutely nothing for comfort. The view was TRASH, looking at another building from the 9th floor. They didn’t even put a welcome packet for me to see any I’m room dining or other items. Mini bar was already half empty and wasn’t stocked, im sure they want to charge me for items I didn’t even eat or use. Long story short I NEVER write reviews but felt compelled to do this. If u are in a pinch go ahead and stay here, but if ur used to a certain level of treatment and have any perks/aMex etc please go somewhere else, this isn’t even living up to a 4 star quality level. Service is disrespectful, beds are 10 years old and need replacing and they shouldn’t charge premium price for this level of hotel accommodations.

The suite was superb, very large and reasonably priced. The staff was friendly and attentive. We had a block of rooms for a wedding. Every person who stayed raved about the hotel. It was centrally located with shopping and restaurants nearby. We would definitely return.

My husband and I had a long comfortable stay. We went to the bar several nights after dinner. Sometimes alone and one night with a large group. We had spectacular service from Evan. He has extensive knowledge of wine and was friendly, informative and attentive. Thank you Evan for making our stay so enjoyable!

Absolutely amazing experience. The tea choices were really fantastic and the food was exquisite. But the best part was meeting and talking with Miguel. He is a fascinating person and really made us feel welcome. Definitely a 5 star experience.

Sofitel was sensational. Couldn’t have been happier. In addition to a gorgeous room (yes, it IS a Sofitel) the staff was terrific. The downstairs bar is percolating with energy and potent drinks The valets are tremendous. Every part of our 4 night stay was pretty much perfect. Everyone working there is clearly into doing their job and they did it wonderfully. Bravo.

The hotel room was so comfortable, clean, stylish and quiet. I had no issues at all, and the front desk was very helpful. I would definitely stay here again, without a doubt. The bathroom was also clean & had all the amenities I needed. The only weird thing I noticed was the bedding - they used a top sheet on top of the mattress, not a bottom sheet. Wasn’t a deal breaker for me.
