Located in a charming area of small historic properties, La Reserve is a lovely B&B. The staff is very welcoming (Maria, Michael and Ed) and make you feel special. The decoration is lovely in both the public and private rooms. We had the rooms Chateau and Marquise which were large and had lovely fireplaces. The rooms shared a bathroom which was not a problem at all. Breakfast was delicious with several appetising choices from a menu - eggs, crepes, etc. Breakfast is served at different times so the guests don't all arrive at the same time so plan ahead if you are required to eat at a special time.
We spent one night in the Heritage Room and were pleased with the large, clean, and comfortable room. It has a shared bathroom with one other room, but we had it to ourselves. While breakfast during the week is continental, a very friendly and accommodating staff member offered to prepare a frittata for us, which was delicious. Maria was great! Over the phone she helped steer us to a nearby parking garage on our arrival. She also made an excellent dinner suggestion for us and when we arrived (without a dinner reservation) and mentioned where we were staying, the hosted seated us immediately and said "I never say no to Maria!"
I stayed at La Reserve for one night while on a road trip last week. I was in the Marquis Room, which was absolutely lovely, quite large, and very comfortable. While this room does share a bathroom with one other room, I had the bathroom to myself during my visit. Maria and Dennis were very friendly. Breakfast was fantastic. I would definitely stay here again. I found great parking at Symphony House at Pine and Broad which had in-and-out privileges and on-line booking.
La Reserve Bed and Breakfast Very well situated double town house in the heart of Center City just a five minute walk from Rittenhouse Square. We stayed in the Deluxe King Room #2, which does not have another room above it, so no hearing footsteps while sleeping. Inn keeper Marie could not have been more welcoming and gracious, even supplying us with an extra toothbrush, because one of us had forgotten ours. Inn is very well furnished, our room had a hunt theme. The full breakfasts on the weekend served around the dining room table are delicious, and give you the opportunity to meet your fellow guests. Even overcoming your initial shyness, the interaction is always interesting.
Maria was my point of contact, she had great communication, was helpful and friendly. We booked the cheerful and spacious Marquis room for our two night stay in Philly. Dennis our chef, was a charming and a great conversationalist; we thoroughly enjoyed his company and his gourmet breakfasts. Ed worked the front desk and was attentive and kind. The property is beautiful, the city is amazing and the staff at La Reserve ensured we had a memorable time! I highly recommend booking a room at La Reserve!
