There were 10 of us, 5 couples "of a certain age" gathering for a three-day reunion. We were in a king-sized room, with good a/c and a very comfortable bed (the pillows not so comfortable though). Every person on the staff was friendly, pleasant, and helpful. Even before we arrived when we called with Qs about places to eat in...

Best things: (1) location - I love to be able to walk, and this was a great location for that. All the historic sites are about a 15 minute walk away. There are plenty of restaurants and shops nearby. And the best gelato (Capogiro) is only a five minute walk. (2) friendly staff: after we checked out, we left our...

This small boutique hotel was perfect for my first visit to Philadelphia. Walking distance to all of the historical sights and shops. Great Latin restaurant right around the corner called Misto-try the Sangria! Taxi's are plentiful but walking is super fun. The hotel was clean, great continental breakfast served in the morning-a very good value for staying in Philly. Will...

What can I say that that other reviewers haven’t said? As there were 400 others I assume it is a popular hotel. But here is my 2 cents. When we travel to a city we prefer not to stay in a large downtown hotel. We typically try and locate a hotel on the edge of the city and walk or...

I stayed at the Alexander Inn for only 2 nights at the beginning of June 2011. Although there is nothing I could complain about, I am quite astonished about the high rating from fellow travellers as I would describe this place to be basic (but reasonable). Location is quite satisfying: the area is charming with lots of historical architecture and...

If you are looking for a botique style Inn or hotel then is a must. We made reservations last minute and had now worries about a booking screw up. The hotels atmosphere is very inviting and the staff ensured that we hade everything we needed to include reccomendations for things to see and do. I'm usually the type of traveller...

Even if I could agree with some of the negative crticis regarding the quality of rooms and servcies, specially comparing with European Hotels and prices...I can just say that there is something special in this hotel that, together with Philly, makes me everytime I go there the place to stay. Don´t ask why...maybe it is just love ;-)

We stayed at the Alexander Inn for six days for a part work/part fun junket. I had a conference downtown so I needed something proximate, but I didn’t want to deal with staying in some chain hotel in the downtown proper. The Alexander Inn was the perfect location – minutes from downtown but just off the beaten path enough to...

We stayed here for three nights while attending the Special Libraries Association convention, and we couldn't have asked for a better hotel experience. The rooms were simple but clean and well-appointed, and although I guess the bathrooms were on the "small" side ... we're New Yorkers so they didn't seem small to us! We had a great view down to...
