Confession: I only started staying at B&Bs about two years ago. Now, it's hard to go back to regular hotels. I appreciate the pleasant atmosphere which feels like you're staying at a relative's house--acomplanied with good company and good food. That said, I try to research possible B&Bs when I'md staying in a given area. I've been successful so far,...

We came over New Years and we were simply entranced by this beautiful gem. It felt so grand with the holiday decorations and simply loved it. The owners were awesome and the breakfast was astounding. We stayed in the Tower room and it was beautifully decorated and extremely comfortable. We absolutely loved this Victorian B&B and will certainly be back...

Ricky and Cesar, the new owners of The Gables, are wonderful hosts. They welcomed us warmly and made us feel very much at home in their home. Visiting The Gables is like stepping back in time to the Victorian era, with period furniture and decorations. Everything was super clean. The gorgeous Christmas decor and cozy fireplaces really heightened the festivity...

Good evening, Anne, it was a pleasure hosting you and Don. Thank you for taking the time to provide your review of the Gables. We apologize that the bed was on the hard side. Thank you for informing us. We are also looking into addressing the clanking radiators. We enjoyed our chats and good luck with your daughter's wedding. Best....

My friend booked The Gable based solely on the online photos. We didn't know what to expect but were instantly charmed as we got off the trolley that stops right in front, and walked up the steps leading to a most charming veranda of this Victorian jewel. We were met at the entrance by Rick who helped take the luggage...

I visited this bed and breakfast with my mother, this past July and we were both very pleased with our stay. The Gables had parking for their guests, and their breakfasts in the morning were very good. Not to mention, the architecture of the building was beautiful and very historic. Also, the staff provided us with a list of nearby...

The Gables is an outstanding B&B. Its like spending a "night in the museum". Beautiful interiour. Just check the pics. Also nice terrasse. The owners will change, but if the new ones keep up the good work, this will remain a "must stay" when in Philly. Wonderful breakfast.

The Gables is a large Queen Anne located in a quiet area of Philadelphia near UPenn. Most of our fellow travelers were students with their families, returning to classes, and largely international. The current owners are looking toward retirement and winding down, and the inn is beginning to show its age a bit. Rooms are on the smaller size, but...

This B&B is located in the College zone of Philadelphia. Downtown can be reached by the trolley number 13 that stops about 30 m before the B&B (take it on the same side of the road). The house where the B&B is located is full of Victorian-like furniture and is very nice. Wifi is free and works properly. Breakfast was...
