I visited this bed and breakfast with my mother, this past July and we were both very pleased with our stay. The Gables had parking for their guests, and their breakfasts in the morning were very good. Not to mention, the architecture of the building was beautiful and very historic. Also, the staff provided us with a list of nearby... More

The Gables is an outstanding B&B. Its like spending a "night in the museum". Beautiful interiour. Just check the pics. Also nice terrasse. The owners will change, but if the new ones keep up the good work, this will remain a "must stay" when in Philly. Wonderful breakfast.

The Gables is a large Queen Anne located in a quiet area of Philadelphia near UPenn. Most of our fellow travelers were students with their families, returning to classes, and largely international. The current owners are looking toward retirement and winding down, and the inn is beginning to show its age a bit. Rooms are on the smaller size, but... More

This B&B is located in the College zone of Philadelphia. Downtown can be reached by the trolley number 13 that stops about 30 m before the B&B (take it on the same side of the road). The house where the B&B is located is full of Victorian-like furniture and is very nice. Wifi is free and works properly. Breakfast was... More

Had a lovely stay at the B & B for 2 days. It is very historic. The rooms themselves have different themes. We stayed in the Victorian suite. It had a private bath and a parlor. We didn't use the parlor because it was incredibly hot the time we were there and it is all windows. Our room had its... More

I had reservation through Booking.com. When I arrived on 7/19/16, there was a sign on the door asking customers to ring the bell. I rang the bell three times. No response. Knocked loudly on the door. No response. Got two guests to look for the owners. No luck. After 30 minutes of this, two men showed up at the door... More

Can't ask for more! The place is all victorian styled and full of antiques. It's beautifully decorated. The rooms feel imperial. It's very well maintained and the food is amazing! Delicious hearty home cooking. The trolly stop is right at the corner and you can go from there all around philly. It's a great places for those taking exams at... More

My 18-yr-old daughter stayed here while On college visits. Arrival from the 30th Sreet station was a simple and affordable taxi ride, and she walked to Drexel/UPenn the next morning. The hosts were so gracious and made her feel welcome and secure. The room was charming: she sent me a picture right away, and only wished her stay was longer.... More

The Gables really gave me a feel for a Victorian home, while at the same time being extremely comfortable! The guide that Warren and the other proprietors made for navigating public transit was extremely clear. I did not get lost once--which is saying something for me.

We've been to The Gables in the summer, when the lush garden and shady veranda were highlights, in addition to the sumptuously decorated rooms. But The Gables has earned a separate review from us with its Christmas welcome. (We were in town to visit our youngest, and were unaware of that it was the weekend of the Army/Navy game. Others...
