I can describe my experience in three words PRETENSIOUS INHOSPITAPOL DIRTY. I was just there from June 16 to 20th. The staff was passive aggressive with a surly attitude. The rooms were not ready for any of our family as we hosted a wedding and spent over $15,000 at this hotel. The woman at the front desk said they would call us when the rooms were ready. None us got a call. Even hours later. The rooms were all wrong. The gentleman running the restaurant was mean and surly his name was John. He would not let us sit in a booth, never, while other patrons were seated in the booths after us. My grandkids commented on this, Five times we dined in the restaurant. Not once being allowed to sit in a booth. On one occasion my brother and wife had just arrived from Florida and John would not let them pull up chairs to our table and for no apparent reason. When I asked him "why" and after 7 requests as to why with no response or answer, we pulled up the chairs ourselves. The rooms were dusty and dirty. Covid clean what a joke. Dust, which is human skin, was everywhere on the dressers and under them and the tables. Rooms need to be cleaned and dusted if you are reading this. Also, there is zero security the drunk patrons from the rooftop bar wander the hallways. I grew up outside of Philadelphia and this was appalling. I was embarrassed!! Shame on you Hilton for having this staff representing the Hilton and Philadelphia. Welcome to Phlly. NOT. I apologized to my family and friends and told them this is not the Philadelphia I grew up to Love.…
We stayed in The king James Logan suite for a family wedding. The suite is spacious and really nice. The pool table got a lot of use by adults and kids. It was a great place for our family together and socialize. The little kitchen area has a full-size refrigerator, a microwave, a Keurig, a teeny tiny ice bucket and a bunch of cabinets that don’t have handles so they are extremely difficult to get open. There are no utensils or dishware. There is not a garbage can either and I suggest you bring several garbage bags with you. There is an ice machine just a couple doors down so that was handy. The view of the fountain outside from the room was really great. The hotel was not offering daily housekeeping service, I guess because of Covid. This was annoying. After three days the garbage was really building up and we had no clean towels. They did not offer any clean towels or linens. They finally agreed to clean our room after we insisted but made sure to let us know that it was being done as a special favor. This seems ridiculous considering the price tag of this room. Despite this, we still enjoyed the room.…
It was alright. Looked like your average hotel, nothing special. The photos are photoshopped very well. The rooms were nothing spectacular. My co-worker had dust and crumbs behind his nightstand. My table didn't look like it was wiped down. Fridge was kind of gross.
This hotel is looking worn. The lobby chairs are dirty, peeling. But the biggest disappointment was the fact that the restaurant (Urban Farmer) does not open until 8:00 a.m. The little coffee bar had a long line and nothing to offer, other than a cold croissant. We have been to hotels where they have a “quick” breakfast area/ yogurt, cereal etc.
Hotel was not very clean. Little things like the elevator buttons were dirty. Went to the exercise room and saw a roach climbing the glass door. Just general cleanliness and upkeep. If it were a garden hotel, I wouldn’t said anything, but curio is part of Hilton’s exclusive collection or at least i thought. In short expectations were high and i left disappointed. I would saw that the staff was friendly and accommodating with the interactions i had with them.
I stay at The Logan frequently for work and have always enjoyed my stay. At times I have "lived" here for weeks at a time and the staff is always so friendly and accommodating. They were also so helpful during covid to help navigate dining options, when most places were closed or running reduced schedules.
Experience 1 just had a horrible experience with Mike Greenbaum, hotel manager of The Logan Philadelphia. My girlfriend and I had just returned from brunch and entered the hotel. I am from Philadelphia and hadn't stayed at the Logan so I wanted to see the pool area before we went back to our room. I then said to her wait let's walk thru I haven't seen this area (see pic of hall towards Urban Farmer). We're walking talking and I'm saying oh Urban Farmer must be on that side and referenced something else from having eaten there. We're standing talking looking towards the bar and Mr. Greenbaum walks up and ask if we're ok and do we need anything. We don't think anything of it initially and respond no we're fine. He then is still standing there and he starts to semi interrogate us. He starts asking for the room # we're staying in and this point in like oh ok this is about to be an issue. Backtrack, we just walked out earlier and Ms. Fallon was at the front desk. Not to say we stand out but there was no one else in the lobby. Even the greeter outside remembered us. Fast forward when we walked in Greenbaum and Fallon were at the front desk. After asking for the # I asked him what the issue is. He says he needed the room number. I'm like why, is there an issue, we're guest here and just walked out two hours ago and the woman at the front desk was there. He continues and then says what's the name on the reservation. This is all happening right near the area where you can enter Urban Farmer. My girlfriend holds up the key in the envelope you all provide. Now again I'm asking like what is the problem. He continues to say he needs to verify the reservation. We're now super frustrated because we've shown him the key, we told him we're staying there and so clearly he has a problem with who we are. It is also confusing because Urabn Farmer is right there so what if we were entering to go to the bar at Utban Farmer? That's it's own issue as I'll send a complaint to them as well. I then say let's go to the front desk because I need your information. This experience was disappointing and disheartening because he clearly could not see that he was harassing us and making us feel very uncomfortable. We didn't send an email complaint yesterday when we arrived and the room had used towels on the floor, an unmade bed and clearly was not ready for guest. The woman at the front desk handled that swiftly and well so we felt satisfied. As what is deemed to be a 4.5/5 star Hilton hotel this was horrible. You hotel manager should be better trained and have a little more finesse if he feels the need to racially profile people. It didn't make it any better that when we asked for his card he had none. Went to the back, then said he had to go get them which was away from the front office area. We then just had to ask for his name from Ms. Fallon and then walked off. We the ran into him near the elevator where he hands us the cards of himself and the GM. To add insult to injury which was likely coincidental but happened never the less. I still wanted to see the pool. We go get on the elevator. Look at the pool and then boom there he is again. I am a 47 year Philadelphia resident that travels often and staycations often in the city. In the last month I have stayed at least 6 hotel nights in a hotel so the fact that this has happen at a Hilton chain makes me even more disappointed. I love the Autograph and Curio brands. …
We had a fantastic staycation at The Logan and already are look forward to going back. Our room was huge with a fantastic view of the fountain. It was quiet, clean and very relaxing. After telling them we were there to celebrate a special occasion, they sent us some delicious macaroons (thank you again!) and waters. Small touches like that made us feel very well cared for. The staff were all very kind. The gym and pool were in fantastic shape. I only wish we had more time to enjoy the spa-next time!
The Logan has become our new go to hotel when visiting Philadelphia. Location is excellent for anything downtown. Many museums are walkable - if you like to walk. Plenty of food choices within walking distance as well. The hotel is next to the Ben Franklin Parkway at Logan Square but the front is on 18th street which is a quiet street and noise was never an issue. Hotel is clean. Service was very good. Valet parking is expensive (but no more expensive than any other inner city hotel). For something like $8 less you can park in the garage across the street. Wait times were reasonable to have your vehicle brought around. Restaurant in the hotel has excellent quality food. There is a cafe in the lobby for coffee or latte and they do have a selection of light food for breakfast.
Most of those employed at the hotel were super friendly and very good at what they do - the rooms and bathrooms were well appointed with the exception of the absence of any hospitable literature including menus of services and information about the environs of the city. Drinks on the rooftop bar were $10 more expensive than the bar in the 1st floor restaurant - 1 oz of Herradura tequila was $25 which is way, way over the top. It’s not like there was a rooftop band or other entertainment - we weren’t even permitted to sit down - there were no stools at the bar and all other seating was reserved for a private party. There were no menus so no way for me to know how much drinks were. When I complained, the manager at front desk told me to take it up with the rooftop bar or mention it in a review. That doesn’t seem like a good way to do business to me - but here we are. Here’s my 3 star review instead of a 4 or 5 star review which is really unfair to the other staff who were excellent and deserving really. I’m not going to mention what I liked about the Logan Hilton - I’m just going to say BEWARE OF THE ROOFTOP BAR and the manager at the front desk who must have one hand tied behind his back because instead of accommodating me or even promising to look into my situation for me, I left my really lovely visit to Philadelphia feeling like I got ripped off and taken advantage of - for what? Meh!…
