Please understand that this review was written by one whose age is showing in diminished agility and balance. Also please understand that an effort has been made by the innkeeper to preserve this historic site as much as reasonably possible. Hence, no TV or telephone (but how does one report a fire). This was my second two-night stay at the... More

Loved the location but the unit was very hot. All the heat rises to the bedrooms and there are no fans and the windows only open less than a third. Bring your own fan if you can. Not a lot of kitchen utensils either.

Former officers' quarters are quaint and well located on the island. There are full kitchens, but they are quite poorly appointed. If you like to cook, be sure to bring your favorite pots and pans and any other kitchen equipment you need but consider even slightly unusual.

This was such a great old house, completely furnished including kitchen utensils. We only stayed one night, but this would be wonderful headquarters for several days on Whidbey Island. Straight shot to the Coupevdlle ferry in one direction, straight shot to Coupeville town for groceries in the other direction, and a fort and lighthouse to explore. The units here are... More

Would have been privet except for the staff kept coming around to "check things out" felt like we where in a fish bowl. The units are very spacious and decorated in the period. Bath tubs where very small and came with hand held shower heads, not recommended (makes a big mess on the floor) Don't bother asking to use the... More

Our family stayed for 2 nights to attend a wedding and really enjoyed our room/house. The grounds are really good for a family, the view is nice, the location is perfect and it is really comfortable for a family. We didn't utilize the kitchen, but it was a nice option. And it was very nice to have 2 bedrooms. We... More

We recently stayed at The fort Casey inn cottage number 6 and had a great time. The cottage is so quaint and filled with hi sorry you could just imagine the General waking up in the morning drinking his coffee on the porch! The beds were clean, kitchen well stocked, and bath with the claw foot tub interesting. The entire... More

Fort Casey Inn is our families favorite place to stay when we visit the island. For the past few years we have stayed for holiday weekends with our friends families staying each in a different house. It is a perfect place to stay when you want to be close to others but want your own space and the full kitchen... More

Stayed at Fort Casey April 2013, and at Camp Casey dorm-style barracks this month for workshops. CAMP CASEY: Downstairs dorm room was bare bones basic, with 2 twin beds and a dresser with mirror, 2 racks for hanging, but only if you brought your own hangers. Downstairs dorm was cold this time of year, although shared bathroom was toasty enough.... More

Hi Merrywoman, Thanks for giving a review of BOTH our spaces. Not everyone gets to experience our dorms or open bay barracks at Camp Casey. They are definitely not for everyone, but can be more affordable for some. I’m delighted you stayed also at Fort Casey Inn and had a pleasant experience. We think the Inn is a unique, quiet... More

This is currently our favorite place in Washington state to unwind. The star of Fort Casey Inn is its location. Such a beautiful, idyllic setting overlooking grass, trees, wildlife (deer and bunnies!), and water. It's adjacent to the amazing Fort Casey State Park and very accessibile to Coupeville and everything else Central Whidbey has to offer. The next best thing... More

Hi Nina, Thank you so much for your response. What a lovely event you had with all your family! I love that you described it as a mini-village. I think it’s one of the hidden locations on the Island to retreat with those you love and hope to reconnect. Best of luck and thanks for the great review! We’d love... More
