We stayed in one of the fireplace suites and got the adjoining room for our kids. The room was spacious, well stocked, very clean and super comfortable. The staff was kind and accommodating and the property was beautiful. We couldn't have had a better experience.

Probably one of the worst hotels I’ve ever stayed - and the prices they charged with all the “add-one” were outrageous!! We arrived after traveling all day, just dying for a glass of water. Walked into our dingy room to find they had locked up all the kitchen cabinets. A call to the front desk was a joke. My husband finally managed to get the cabinets open so we could have a glass of water. We couldn’t get any water out of the shower. Another call to the front desk. When we did get water it took literally ten minutes to get hot water. The bed was old and lumpy. The furniture was old, stained and nasty. The whole place had a nasty, musty smell. There was hardly any light in the room, the floor creaked, the heater sounded like a jet engine. We were there during the fires and we would rather be outside with the smoke than be in the room. Don’t let the photos fool you - I don’t know where they got those photos but our room was nothing like them!!!

AC and fridge did not work. Noisy guests outside our window until 1am - apparently, the hotel encourages bonfires and late night dinners. Bedsheets old and raggedy. not worth the price, would rather stay at Motel 6. Family of 4 here to hike - hiking was fantastic, hotel not so much.

This place is using COVID as a reason to over charge and under serve. The rest of this review is a waste of words so they will post it. Blah blah blah this will take a long time to please these people. Blah blah blah.

Our first road trip since the whole corona virus thing. We decided on Mammoth Lakes which we love. Our usual hotel had no vacancies so we searched for something else. We saw this one and it looked great on their website but then we started reading the reviews and thought "oh no, should we book here or not?" After reading tons of reviews, we thought that we would go ahead. We really wanted to go to Mammoth and we figured we just had to sleep there and it was a step up from sleeping in the car or in a tent...Then we checked in. We were both pleasantly surprised. As other reviews have said the staff is very friendly and courteous. Many of the negative comments we read, we did not find to be true but some were true. Here is summary. Yes, it is very old hotel and it shows its age but we found our room clean and pleasant. We had an air conditioning unit that did keep the room comfortable, a working microwave, a flat screen TV that worked great and had many channels (we could even easily hook up our laptop with our HDMI cable and watch netflix using the hotel wifi (it did buffer a bit and occasionally froze but was workable). The beds were old but we found them acceptable. We did not find any bugs, etc in our room. The grass area around hotel was nice and they have an old minature golf course in parking lot which is only $7 each for adults and fun. The refrigerator in our room kept things slightly cool but I would not rely on it for something that really needs refrigeration and no freezer part for ice cream, etc. Our bathroom drain was slow but worked. Toilet and shower both worked and we had hot water in shower. Overall I would consider staying here again if our usual one was booked (Best Western). Usually Best Western's are fairly acceptable to us and I would consider this slightly below the average Best Western but definitely not as bad as some other places we have ended up in. We don't regret staying here but our expectations were quite low. One last thing, the hair dryer in the room didn't work. I went to front desk and she was polite and put it on housekeeping "list" with our room number. I doubt we will have it this morning. Part of this might have to do with the pandemic thing but part of it might just be this hotel.
