Mammoth Creek Inn is a great hotel, great service from Tom, Leina and Elsa, our (complimentary) upgraded room with a sleeping loft as way more spacious than I expected. The hotel was always warm and staffed, the in-room service was great and even the driveway was regularly plowed so that despite the tons of snow, we never had a problem finding a place to park. We were a very short drive to Canyon and walking distance for food and shopping. We even saw two bears from the hotel balcony! Great value, we had four people comfortably accommodated for way less than half of what two rooms at Monache Westin would have cost. Finally, we had a change in our schedule and we needed to leave a day early and Leina was kind enough to accommodate a refund despite the stated policy that we were not eligible for a refund. We will definitely be back next winter!

Hello Chris, Thank you for being our guest and writing this awesome review. I'm sorry I only got to it now. It was a very challenging winter keeping the lot cleared...the snow removal company we used, Rock and Dirt, was awesome. Snowplowers are Gods and Goddesses. :) We are currently experiencing our version of "June Gloom". Clear in the morning then by mid morning thunder clouds start to row in. It is still very pretty. The meadows are green if not fill with water from snow runoffs. I haven't seen any bears yet but the black birds are sure busy guarding their nesting territory here at the hotel. hahaha Take care, Leina'ala K.

We loved our stay at Mammoth Creek Inn! We came down as a group of 4 friends wanting to ski in Mammoth for the weekend from Tahoe. We booked relatively last minute, and were extremely pleased by how friendly and helpful the management was. Once we checked in, the staff was actually able to upgrade us to a larger room much more suited for 4 people. We highly enjoyed the hot tub and spa area after a long day of skiing. The property is cute and well kept-we loved hanging out inside in the pool room as well. The rooms were very clean and comfortable and stocked with everything we needed. We will definitely be back!

Made this an overnight stop on our way from Vegas to Yosemite via Tioga Pass. Our concerns staying here were based on reviews here saying it was old, creaky, and noise between rooms. I think these are unfounded and this place is worth your money. Yes, the hotel is in an older building, but the owners have done a good job keeping it clean and comfortable. My advice if you are a light sleeper is to request a second-floor room, because the floors are most definitely creaky. The bed was super comfortable and the water pressure in the shower was awesome. The room was clean and spacious enough for 2 people. The check-in person was very nice as well. I'd stay here again when I come back to Mammoth.

We actually stayed in January 2022 but it would not let me select that date. This inn was simple, no frills, but we didn’t really need any. Just needed somewhere clean and safe that didn’t cost and arm and a leg, just somewhere to lay our heads after skiing. Only the most simple rooms were available as week booked pretty close to the trip date, but on the morning of our check out we saw some of the suites/larger rooms available as they were being cleaned and they looked really cool. My main issue was them not having a microwave in the room. This is just a basic element that all hotels should and usually do have. Especially if you are going to have a mini fridge where you might stash left overs, you should have a microwave. Or what if you just want to reheat your coffee? If they could make that simple upgrade I think all their guests would appreciate. Otherwise I had not complaints about our stay. It was warm, clean, and quiet. Great inexpensive stay.

We wanted to take the kids to the snow and Mammoth sounded like the ideal spot as it is only a couple of hours drive from us. We were looking for a pet friendly place and, after searching several sites and calling different places, decided to call the Mammoth Creek Inn. Leanna was efficient and friendly and offered to book the room right there and then. Very affordable considering it was the week before Thanksgiving. Hotel is a little old but is situated in a perfect location. Rooms are small but the bed was comfortable. Lobby area is cute, nothing fancy but we enjoyed playing cards and games by the fireplace. If you are in one of the rooms on the first floor you’ll be able to hear the steps from the room above. Due to Covid, the rooms don’t get cleaned during your stay but they are pretty good at restocking anything upon request. Overall a good stay for the price.

Classic small ski lodge with old-school charm. Rooms are spacious, quiet and tastefully appointed with comfortable beds and flat screen TVs. Easy walk to several restaurants and grocery stores as well as ski shuttle bus. No free breakfast, but usually coffee, tea and snacks in the lobby. Common areas are cozy and welcoming. Limited ski storage outside. Convenient and uncrowded parking. Pro tip: although the rooms don't have microwaves, there's one in the lobby to warm up those takeout meals. Staff is very friendly and accommodating. Having stayed several times, I can also happily attest this lodging does not seem to appeal to noisy people.

In short, an excellent choice for a relaxing ski holiday at a reasonable price.

Hi BobeU1023KQ, Greetings from Mammoth Lakes. Thank you for being a returning guest and taking time to write a detailed review of our facility. You are right about us being a "Classic small ski lodge with old-school charm". The building was completed in the early 70s with skiing in mind. The rooms stay nice and toasty in the winter but unfortunately we do not have air conditioning. However, we do have fans available for the few unseasonal hotter than usual days we might experience during the summer months. Even though I'm from Hawai'i, I don't do hot weather very well. ~Leina'ala "lay-nah-ah-lah" :) P.S.: I hope you are doing well and I look forward to seeing you this winter. #needsnow

First time staying at the Mammoth Creek Inn and it won’t be our last! It’s conveniently located to restaurants and shopping and there’s a park right across the street with a playground if you are traveling with the kids. Staff was helpful and friendly. Our room was clean, roomy and the beds were comfortable. It’s an older hotel but it’s not rundown. Rates are reasonable and they have a nice lobby with a fireplace and comfy chairs to relax in. We highly recommend the Mammoth Creek Inn when you stay in Mammoth!

Convenient location but far from the major street so nice and quiet in the evenings.
Good WiFi connection.
Clean room and bedroom.

No major issues. I would stay in this place again next time.
If you like to stay near downtown Mammath Lake for shopping and dining convenience but prefer a quieter place, this is an excellent choice.

The only thing I would suggest to make improvement is the shower temperature. It was "warm," not "hot" enough. In summer season is manageable, but in winter season, it may not be hot enough.

He anticipated our needs and was always available to share local tips and tricks that made our trip unforgettable. This place has a lot of character and charm, I highly recommend!!

Greetings from Mammoth Lakes. Thank you for being our guest and taking time to write this wonderful review. I apologize for the delayed respond. Winter 22/23 is one for the books. We didn't need to chase any storms as it was the season of relenless storms. There is still alot of snow on Mammoth Mountain and the back country (as of June 14, 2023). I'll be sure Tom sees this review. Take care, Leina'ala K.

Good morning, Thank you for your inquiry. The view would be west facing towards Mammoth Mountain. Our other standard rooms does not have a view because there is a building next door. However, we have a second floor balcony with a sitting area and our main lobby boasts beautiful mountain views. Regards, Leina'ala K.
